Just out of curiosity after reading the garden shed thread, can you send me the link to an example of the best place I could buy in your area.

Thanks :)

I would buy this tomorrow!

JingleJohnsJulie · 29/12/2013 09:06

This.

perplexedpirate · 29/12/2013 09:07

My house and the house next door!

mumtosome61 · 29/12/2013 09:12

I don't want to link as I'm in a small market town too, but you'd get a 5 bed here for that. House prices here are stupidly low because of the proximity to a high vehicle area, and the fact it isn't really near anything. Rent prices are very high for the employment nearby but sale prices are low - this is mainly a rental town.

Skogkatter · 29/12/2013 09:13

Right where we live, is this (well,we live in the village close by). The price is in Aus dollars, but in pounds, it would be about £260,000.

JingleJohnsJulie · 29/12/2013 09:16

seadevil that is a whopper!

TodaysAGoodDay · 29/12/2013 09:35

This small and rather dubiously decorated 3 bed place. There was nothing in my immediate area as we live in a cheap as chips rural place, but this is a ''within 10 miles'' property.

goodasitgets · 29/12/2013 09:39

4 bed detached

Cramped 3 bed semi Sad on an average road at best.

Or a church!

Love the house in Bundanoon - jealous of you all with so much space.

A massive 4 bed in Bearsden

But seriously, there is no need to spend anything like that kind of money anywhere near where I live. It would just be ostentation for the sake of it.

My place cost me £50,000.

Southeastdweller · 29/12/2013 10:15

A two bedroom flat would cost that much here - SW London.

treaclesoda · 29/12/2013 10:25

something like this

17leftfeet · 29/12/2013 10:33

You could get a 4 bed barn conversion near me

Alternatively you could buy 2 attached 3 bed semis and have enough to turn them into a mansion!

specialsubject · 29/12/2013 10:49

in the town, a 4 or sometimes 5 bed detached depending on area and condition.

outside the town, slightly less - a smaller house in good nick or a bigger one needing work, both with lots of outside space.

Shropshire. Don't tell anyone! And yes, there is work here, good facilities, transport links and plenty to do. It's just that you can't commute to London every day.

Don't think there is anything in my area more than £250K so you could buy a few smaller houses.

Mind you who would want to live in a shithole like this? Not me if I could afford to move!

octopusinasantasack · 29/12/2013 18:15

A 5 bedroomed detached house on an estate, with utility room, conservatory, dining room and study.

SarfEasticated · 29/12/2013 18:26

I have always wanted a utility room [jealsous]
