Hinky - hopefully it'll be too dark to see!

Dog - everything does take such a looooooong time! It's very tedious.

At the time of offer our buyers said we had to complete before 25th May so we worked towards the 24th as we are going on hols. Then the buyers insisted on 22nd and the removals could only move us and them on 23rd so we went with that.

Does anyone know what happens if one party's mortgage offer expires? Our buyers offer expires 17 June and we don't seem in sight of exchanging yet.

Hello all, just dropping in briefly to mark place. Structural survey came back mainly ok although we need an electrical inspection. Now trying to deal with removals, school transfers etc. We're going on holiday for half term, so all is very frantic here!

Congratulations to those who have moved and good luck to those still stuck in the Waiting Place....

rosieposey · 22/05/2013 16:12

Hello, can i join you? Going mad trying to get the house ready for valuation and putting on the market. We are just waiting for new kitchen cupboard fronts to be delivered in the next couple of weeks and put on then new interior doors downstairs and we are ready to go.

Have to say im not looking forward to the stress of it all - this is the third time for us in this house as the last two fell through and i was pg with DS and couldn't face putting it back on 6 months ago.

Its a bit hairy anyway as DH is contracting now and only one bank will offer us a mortgage but they want 30 percent deposit because he is a contractor so it really limits the type of place we can buy. There is no way we would get in Devon (where we are hoping to move) what we have here in Wilts - mind you cleaning this place ( 5 bed ) is as a PITA so i might actually look forwards to somewhere smaller!

Looking forwards to getting to know you all :) Congrats on those who have secured sales and exchanged/completed and good luck to the rest of us!

rosieposey · 22/05/2013 16:18

Jaynebxl - this happened to us a couple of years ago - our mortgage offer expired and they just extended it (cant remember if it was for another two or three months)

CuddyMum · 22/05/2013 16:26

Well, it's my last day in the house. We are pretty much packed and the funds arrived at the solicitors today (they request a day early). Take away tonight!

Good luck cuddy for tomorrow

Tomorrow is crunch tome for us as buyer is giving us a decision so its either champagne or tears. Still no idea which way they'll go but not looking hopeful. And yet I still keep going around on my head that there is nothing wrong with our house so why wouldn't they go through with it....

Another sleepless night.

Turnipinatutu · 22/05/2013 18:43

Good luck Cuddy! Hope it all goes smoothly and good luck Hinky too, fingers crossed!

ghosteditor · 22/05/2013 19:13

Good luck cuddy, and welcome, Rosie!

rosieposey · 23/05/2013 08:18

Thanks ghost :) good luck for you're move today cuddy, how exciting! Hope it all goes well.

Less exciting for me today - I'm going to sort the airing cupboard out as when you open it any potential buyers would get scared because its full to the brim!

Hinky, good luck to you too, sounds like a nail biting time - fingers crossed it'll be champagne time for you tonight.

CuddyMum · 23/05/2013 08:51

Last time we moved DH had a job interview and left it all to me. It was a very stressful... He's been banned from doing any work this time!

ghosteditor · 23/05/2013 10:01

Good luck cuddy, give your DH a kick up the bum from MN!

Pendulum · 23/05/2013 10:41

Oh how exciting Cuddy. I'm very Envy. You'll be sleeping in your new house tonight! Thinking of you today hinkyhonk.

Hi rosie!

CuddyMum · 23/05/2013 11:40

He's had a kick. Men are doing a brilliant job. We've given them lots of tea and sausage butties. The cleaning lady is doing an amazing job too. We feel like spare parts now! The money's in on the sale so we are just waiting for the money to go through on the purchase and then we can collect the keys.

OP posts:
wonkylegs · 23/05/2013 12:31

All sounds good Cuddy
We've finally got the mortgage agreement woohoo!
As I previously thought the paperwork cock up of £5k difference on the purchase price made absolutely no difference to the valuation or payments (although in theory we are borrowing even less loan to value), it just took an additional week to sort out. This means they can get out purchase paperwork finalised and fingers crossed move on to exchange Grin

hinkyhonk · 23/05/2013 13:03

Shhh but buyers have sorted insurance and we are due to exchange tomorrow

TerrysNo2 · 23/05/2013 14:03

great news all round.

knock on the door now, it's our buyer!!
