Having spent literally months of my life trawling Zoopla, Rightmove and all the other property sites, I thought it was about time I publicised the work of some of London's finest estate agents - who obviously haven't yet worked out the point of the internet - and manage to advertise houses with an ineptitude which both baffles and astounds in equal measure.
Remember, you only get one chance to make a first impression Grin and punters are paying 1%-3% of the selling price for these "adverts".

So here's a few of my recent 'favourites' - would love to see yours too!

Is there a charge for extra pictures?

A cracking HOUSE for £225k in Shepherds Bush!

Is it possible to say any LESS about this one?
www.zoopla.co.uk/for-sale/details/11234914?search_identifier=76f735c1d33fc8261d36d34121d353cf

This one comes with its own shopping centre:
www.zoopla.co.uk/for-sale/details/12531048?search_identifier=76f735c1d33fc8261d36d34121d353cf

These are only the tip of the iceberg and not a patch on some of the ones I've seen - I'll add them as I see them if anybody's interested.

That last one is scary. Wonder if there are any dead bodies under that patio [cshock]

Fab thread btw Grin

ohlordynotanothernamechanger · 30/04/2011 22:10

how about this one www.struttandparker.com/property-for-sale/leeds-north-yorkshire/property_HRG080359.html
think perfectly nice house in ok area - alright 1 mile from giant power station and less then that from 2 motorways then massively overextended by owner, complete with fake stone pillars ! about 3 time the price of houses in the village
one of the schools mentioned doesn't exist, one is totally out of catchment and the private school listed as being near on a bus route is about 75 mins on the bus Shock

angel1976 · 30/04/2011 22:16

MrClaypole I used to live in Horn Lane! LOL.

LynetteScavo That is 'boudoir' gone so very, very wrong... and the price! Shock

bottersnike · 02/05/2011 20:53

I have to add this one:
www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-27520270.html?premiumA=true

Hope the link works!
Dh and I have a theory that the downstairs of the house is used as a film set, while the upstairs... Lord knows.

thisisyesterday · 02/05/2011 21:15

i LOVE lynette's last one

the downstairs is so um, "opulent" or trying to be... and then in the bedroom there is a white plastic garden chair by the bed! what's with that?

i can't even get started on the rest of what's wrong with it, but that really tickled me

angel1976 · 03/05/2011 10:35

botternike Words fail me! Shock

nickelbabe · 03/05/2011 15:27

this is a lovely house in our area - it's massive inside, why have they only taken pictures of the garden?

nickelbabe · 03/05/2011 15:34

botters - that bathroom! Shock

tink123 · 03/05/2011 19:46

is that what wall to wall carpet means...but not in a bathroom :(

mumzy · 03/05/2011 20:59

my vote for the most ridiculously overpriced property on the market!
www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-28861502.html

what happens when you send EAs on a creative writing course:
www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-32607683.html?premiumA=true

narmada · 03/05/2011 21:18

noseynoonoo that made me laugh!

mumsy wow! A rare exception to the maxim that location is everything....that is seriously over-priced. How long before they drop it down to something more reasonable???

Good grief, what a hideous description. Makes me want to puke. There's one EA around here that has some ridiculous little twonk writing their blurbs, and he frequently comes up with some corkers. Boring semi? 'Built in the reign of King Edward VII' no less. Does he mean 'Edwardian'?? DP and I are eagerly awaiting the Barratt house described as being 'built in the reign of Elizabeth II'.

It's the 1st floor layout of this one plus the charming view of a ploughed field. It's been on the market for well over a year with numerous agents and started out at about £219K.

thisisyesterday · 03/05/2011 22:32

"master bedroom enjoying en suite shower,"

really? did the bedroom say that? or are they just assuming that the bedroom enjoys it?

holmeseller · 04/05/2011 00:55

would anyone like to buy a beautiful 3 bed townhouse in maryport cumbria for 142k check it out on rightmove Tiffens cockermouth, value 150k plenty, had 4 offers, but THEY cant sell homes,???

nickelbabe · 04/05/2011 10:17

insane, that one duffy - if they got rid of bedroom 4 (and made it landing space), they could have doors to all of the other rooms on that layer - and make the "dressing room" bedroom 4, and that would sell so much better!
(and get rid of the wardrobe in bedroom 1 to make a proper sized bathroom)

nickelbabe · 04/05/2011 10:23

that Townhouse is beautiful, holmes

thisisyesterday · 04/05/2011 13:24

is it your house holmeseller?

garden is the only thing that would put me off tbh, too small and no grass.

close to a river too, which might concern me re: flooding i guess, esp after cockermouth

Buzzybritches · 04/05/2011 15:59

This is an excerpt from a property description of a local hero estate agent! I love reading his descriptions!
www.ralphbending.com/index.html

^Princes road - Street

Calling all investors. Tenanted studio apartment for sale. Sitting/bedroom, small kitchenette, bathroom with a shower and parking. Suit greedy Landlord who likes to fiddle with what we hope is the loose change in his pocket^

risingstar · 04/05/2011 16:48

buzzy-i love that site-especially the wwoden hut for £150000 described as suitable for a proper gypsy Shock

Ormirian · 04/05/2011 16:52

LOL I was going to mention Ralph Bendy! Brilliant Grin

holmeseller · 04/05/2011 21:06

thankyou,

holmeseller · 04/05/2011 21:20

no, its a friends home, thisisyesterday, and no probs with river, there are other larger townhouses between this house and river, and 6miles from cockermouth, the garden used to be grass and flowers, now the decking area is a lovely clean suntrap to have morning coffee or evening drinks on.
