Worst Estate Agent photos/details

Having spent literally months of my life trawling Zoopla, Rightmove and all the other property sites, I thought it was about time I publicised the work of some of London's finest estate agents - who obviously haven't yet worked out the point of the internet - and manage to advertise houses with an ineptitude which both baffles and astounds in equal measure.
Remember, you only get one chance to make a first impression Grin and punters are paying 1%-3% of the selling price for these "adverts".

So here's a few of my recent 'favourites' - would love to see yours too!

Is there a charge for extra pictures?

A cracking HOUSE for £225k in Shepherds Bush!

Is it possible to say any LESS about this one?

This one comes with its own shopping centre:

These are only the tip of the iceberg and not a patch on some of the ones I've seen - I'll add them as I see them if anybody's interested.

Perhaps you need the trampoline to get to see the sea views?

londonmackem · 24/04/2011 21:44

It is very funny but completely unnecessary. Our estate agent came with the photographer and moved things like DD's kitchen and highchair so they wouldn't be in the photographs. Used a wide angled lens and our house looked much bigger than it is - almost wanted to stay it looked so nice!

Suncottage · 24/04/2011 21:53

My favourite was when I called the estate agent to view a house and she asked my DP's occupation and salary as the sellers 'only wanted to sell to the right class of people'. No mention of my occupation or salary and I have always wondered what was the 'right class of people'. It was a two bed cottage FFS!

I put the phone down at that.

In the estate agents defence she did do 1471 and apologise as they were 'difficult' clients.

Brown suite & carpet anyone [boak]

CaveMum · 25/04/2011 21:28

Forgot to say as well: what's with the swimming pool in a polytunnel?!

smarmyarmy · 26/04/2011 13:02

I have to add this house here

I think this house has been on the market for about 2 years with about 20 agents - no one can shift it!!! And it is so ridiculously overpriced!!! Loving the carpet...

narmada · 26/04/2011 13:09

Good grief smarmy that really is overpriced. Ha ha, some vendors are just so greedy aren't they??!!

jimswifein1964 · 26/04/2011 13:18

Loving this! Bit disappointed tho, as I read some other the other listing from Grockle's estate agent, and they're not half so funny. very very descriptive tho!

purepurple · 26/04/2011 14:20

loove this bit from smarmy's post
"PLEASE NOTE
Due to the extremely large garage the garden is small but could be made much larger if part of the garage was demolished."
Half a million and you have to demolsih the garage to get a decent garden?
Blimey

narmada · 26/04/2011 22:20

If you're into trains, this is the house for you (see pic 4):

www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-29495791.html

Otherwise, buy some ear plugs?

smarmyarmy · 27/04/2011 12:35

I have no words.

Adair · 27/04/2011 20:53

Ahhh, I don't know if it is just Haart in Walthamstow that do this, but it cracked me up every time I looked at their properties...
Click here, then on View Slideshow

See personally, I would have used the zoom to focus on positive features rather than a mug of tea and the remote Grin

MrClaypole · 27/04/2011 20:54

PMSL Lynette even the outside of that house is vile.

IThere is not one tasteful feature!

And Shock at the price!

narmada · 27/04/2011 22:32

lynettescavo [eyespoppingoutofheademoticon].

In which parallel universe is that house in Golders Green worth six million quid??!! Could they not have spent some of the equity on new window dressings? Did they have to use grandma's old knickers???

caramelwaffle · 28/04/2011 17:06

Lynette - £6000000...and they photographed the beds... with no sheets on

Good

Grief

(also my link does not work - pout)

caramelwaffle · 28/04/2011 17:08
Grin

"Grandmas old knickers.."

Psocid · 29/04/2011 10:33

Any of Roy Brooks descriptions are worth looking at - www.roybrooks.co.uk/results.asp

Adair · 29/04/2011 11:34

Ha! Reminds me of the estate agent who went on about our selling-point laminate in the back bedroom (!) and completely ignored the original fireplace and sash windows... I know it's about target audience but...

narmada · 30/04/2011 21:28

I know. Let's arrange for your house to be burgled and ^then take the photos!:

what a bloody tip

thisisyesterday · 30/04/2011 21:32

ahhh this thread reminded me of a house i saw a while ago whilst hunting on rightmove

it's gone down by a whopping £500 since I last looked... ok it doesn't look too bad... until you get to the last pic
here
