Further to your recent order request for a Kyoto bedstead (catalogue number WV570 ), please be advised that there was a price error on our website and the price shown was incorrect. We are therefore declining your order request in accordance with clauses 2.2 and 3.2 of our terms and conditions, which can be viewed on the website help pages. The bedstead price has now been amended if you wish to order at the correct price £159.00.

CJmommy - generally when you are shopping somewhere like a supermarket the goods priced on the shelf are an "invitation to treat" ie they are offering you the opportunity (but not the right) to buy at that price. You make an offer (ie takeit to the till), theyaccept your offer (by taking your money) and the contract is concluded. It would generally owrk similarly in an online envirenoment UNLESS they have a clasue in their terms and conditions that allows them to cancell the sale up ntil it is delivered - it sounds like thats what they have in "clauses 2.2 and 3.2 of our terms and conditions"

Yes they have taken money..I order two..one pine and one walnut...one ststaes it is at the depot (but is just a drawer going by the tracking info) and one has been cancelled

Lissielou can I ask what item no and tracking info you get when you check it on their site?

Shit - just checked again and they have JUST cancelled it..even though it said it was at the depot!!!

think they must just be honouring the order made before the mistake was brought to light.

I hope you get your beds...mine was cancelled at last minute as they knew there had been a price mistake

well stressed now. Nobody has rung me back since my discussion on Tuesday and my order is still there saying at depot. No cancellation e mail - AAAAGGGHHHH

I'm just going to see what happens as at the end of the day we were desperate for a new bed it would just be nice to have one!

I wish I'd clicked on pine colour now as the walnut one isnt in stock till August.
My tracking info still says 'waiting for stock' so they still have time to cancel it!

TBH you may still get one..I shot myself in the foot by querying via email what it was..that gave them time to do something...and they have the cheek to say it may take up to 14 days to credit me!!

Doesn't mention anything about payment though. Surely if they have the right to cancel the order and refund your money it should mention something about refunding your money if they have already taken it from your account?

Dropdeadfred - good luck with the credit. Mine was supposedly sent to my bank on 18th June but it is yet to arrive.

I rang both the bank and the catalogue company this morning. They are saying that they definitely sent the money back to the card, but the bank are saying it has not been received.

I am going to give it another couple of days and if I still havent received my money back then I will raise an official complaint (and also claim back the cost of all the telephone calls to and from them and the bank!)

More hassle than they are worth this company IMHO.

got a phone call from delivery company last night!

bed will be arriving between 7-9am tomorrow!

i asked if it was definitely a bed- lady said yes, definitely!

am not counting chickens til i actually have it though...
