Hello hello who’s sitting KCS 7+ this week? Wonder how many are sitting this year…

@heliomum , please send me the details as well. We did not try for WUS as it is too far from our place but it will be good to have the details handy in case we need to try again next year.

Anyone here did St Paul’s today? How did it go?

My son found it more difficult than Westminster

My son took it and said it was easier than WUS. He mentioned he ran out of time on the comprehension section and had to leave two questions unanswered.

DS found it easier than Kings and WUS (they didn’t work out for us unfortunately.) But obviously the difficulty of the tests doesn’t reflect the difficulty of clearing the admission bar… Anyway, he seems to have had a good experience today. Fingers crossed for all.

Results out for SPJ... Does anyone know how interview dates are allocated? With so many going through to interview I was wondering if you are later in the week the chance is minimal

Does anyone know how many boys took SPJ 7+ this year and how many would they call for interview/ group activity. There were 9 groups ( A-I ) with probably 25 in each group.

When is your second round? Ours on 27th.

27th morning… we know of people (from other schools of origin) who are on Dec 3rd

supposedly over 500 (unconfirmed) took SPJ exam; 160 have been invited back for interviews (confirmed)

Upon receiving more parents’ messages from within our school, it might be that the exam date is a function of age (younger boys earlier, older boys later)…. Anyone able to comfirm this as a fact? The Dec 3 example at our school is a November baby

DS got City Junior, Latymer, Kings Junior, WUS, Highgate, Perse. We are leaning towards Perse to get out of London

Firm offers from all of those? Amazing achievement, sign the boy up to MENSA!

How can that be? City Junior first round is on Friday (28th Nov), Highgate is on the next Tuesday (2nd Dec). Second rounds for both are not until Jan 2026... So a bit confused by your statement unless you are talking about a prior year?

Does anyone know how many boys are in each session? Any intel about what they did in previous years? And how much do exam results / school reports weigh in the final decision?

Based on 160 ish going through and there being 14 sessions (morning / afternoon) id assume c. 12 kids per session.

No idea on the selection process from here or how report, interview or exam is weighted / considered

Do we know historically how many boys were put on reserve list for SPJ 7+ and how many eventually materialised into an offer.

No idea about the reserve list numbers I am afraid.

Any idea when are we supposed to hear back from SPJ 7+?

I’m not sure of the exact day, but the results should come out before Wednesday — could be any day between now and then. Hopefully we won’t have to wait too long!
