How did the WUS interview go for your children? Mine came back happy but clearly did not enjoy the writing task. Are the results out on Monday next week?

Yes out on the 17th they said. My daughter only spoke about the jelly cups after lunch to begin with 😅 and then later said there were lots of fun activities. And that the math was not easy.

Hi, mine said it was just so-so. He mentioned that the writing was difficult and he thinks he may have made some spelling mistakes

Yep, definitely seems like it was harder than KCS. Are your kids writing St Paul’s as well?

I think WUS is taking 60 - 30 boys and 30 girls

Any tips on preparing for creative writing for St Pauls?

Do you think likely WUS will be out before Monday or just wishful thinking? Would nice to be out of limbo before the weekend.

No official numbers, but my daughter said there were 22 in her group yesterday and she thinks only 6 girls (but validity of a 7 year old's observations and all that...). But going on causal observations yesterday I'd be surprised if it was more than a third girls through to second round.

There were 3 groups yesterday which makes it over 60 kids. Given the interviews were over 3 days seems like there were 180 kids invited back for 60 spots.

Weren't there only 2 days? Mon and Weds? Calling back 120 is what it says in all the emails from the school.

Oh ok, didn't realise there were just 2 days. Makes sense.

I was told 530 applicants for first round and 120 to second round for 60 places.

I too tried and failed to observe anything like 50/50 girls and boys.

DD was there on Wednesday, and I remember thinking there were plenty of girls—definitely not 50/50, but not too far off. Parents of other DDs, what other schools are you looking at? We’re also sitting City, Latymer, and Bute, although we’re really hoping for WUS.

Yes, how about yours? We really like St. Paul’s, but it’s quite far from where we live

I dont think there is any creative writing at St Pauls but only a dictation and comprehension section. I am not 100% sure so pls someone correct me if necessary!

We're also sitting Latymer, but won't if WUS offer...
