Hello

I thought I'd set up a new thread for those sitting 4+ in 2024 for September 2025 start date.

Any tips for prepping?

What schools are people considering?

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

SHHS email is out! We only got waitlist:(, anyone knows how waitlist works at these schools?

Official guidance is wait for a place to become available.

Unofficial guidance is to send them an email telling them how keen you are, etc etc and to let you know if there’s a space. And then to try and build a relationship with the admissions officer and contact them regularly so they know you’re keen and genuinely want a place at their school rather than looking like you’ve happily accepted another.

Hello everyone.
Was wondering with a sibling policy regardless of performance are siblings always given priority? My daughter went for StC and i noticed the other kids all had siblings as to ease the 4 year olds in, they called down the siblings?

Thank you @RockerRoller - super helpful! I have already messaged them this am and depending on the rest of the schools results may even call to see if they give away any info.

anyway feels like another 2 weeks of stress 😂. Good luck to all of you!

We went for second round NLCS last week and DD stayed 10-15mins longer than other kids. She told me that the last exercise was difficult. I think the teachers were being kind and gave her more time to finish the puzzle! She came out happy and smiling, but I think this is the end of road for us for NLCS, atleast for now.

DD got offer from NLCS today! It's a pleasant surprise as honestly we didnt expect it. In our first round, she got really upset and we couldnt convince her to go to with teachers. Seeing her so upset we thought there was no point trying again, but NLCS team convinced us to give it one more shot as they had seen this in the past. Miraculously she went in the next time, and thankfully came out smiling. For the second round, I had to promise her a treat, and she went in reluctantly only to come out again with a smile but took longer than everyone else. Overall, a quite postive experience.

Lookingtomoveperhaps · 27/01/2025 10:41

@light5 That's great. The school was able to get the best out of her and rightly did not dismiss her for her natural reaction to possible stress and the unknown. I would be heartened by that, alone.
I have all this to come soon. Any feedback on the actual assessment?

Congrats on you and your DD! Are you going to take the offer or still waiting for others?
DD also got offered NLCS.

shar90 · 27/01/2025 10:54

Congratulations to all the offer holders and mum’s. Well done ☺️

Londonmum89 · 27/01/2025 11:02

Hi All. Has anyone heard back from Habs or know what time they’ll be sending out emails?

Monkeymum25 · 27/01/2025 11:05

Not yet, have you? I heard it might be around 4pm as it was last year and they don’t like parents phoning the school.

Londonmum89 · 27/01/2025 11:09

No, not yet either. Seems a little unfair to make us wait the whole day! I guess the same way they did for first round results

Monkeymum25 · 27/01/2025 11:28

I know!! Are you waiting on others? Yes first round we got around 1pm so maybe will be same this time!

Londonmum89 · 27/01/2025 11:34

No this is the last one now! How about you? Oh how strange. Last time we didn’t get the email until gone 3pm!

Cocktail201 · 27/01/2025 11:41

Hi
Any one if in history St Christophers have converted WL places to offers?

Hi
Any one if in history St Christophers have converted WL places to offers?

If you look at either last year’s chat or 2023 (I can’t remember), I think that 3 or 4 DD who were waitlisted were offered. For what it’s worth, we have an offer from St C which we will be releasing, so fingers crossed for you!

Monkeymum25 · 27/01/2025 11:51

We have one more at the end of the month. Ah really interesting! I guess maybe sending in batches or alphabetical order etc! It’s going to be a long afternoon!!

Hi

Someone asked earlier about St C sibling policy and yes they accept most siblings

From last year, they only started offering off the waitlist quite late (maybe either on or after offers acceptance day) for St C, it’s such a lovely school.

VividRaven · 27/01/2025 12:19

Habs boys offers are out, goodluck everyone!

SleeplessinLondon00 · 27/01/2025 12:23

No Habs for us, unfortunately :(

Good luck to everyone else

YellowBathView · 27/01/2025 12:23

Anyone here got an offer from SHHS and won’t be accepting it?

Londonmum89 · 27/01/2025 12:28

We didn’t get it either! Good luck to everyone

Gabi678 · 27/01/2025 12:31

Hi, yes we won’t accept

Gabi678 · 27/01/2025 12:32

Anyone got Highgate and won’t be accepting it??

tps123 · 27/01/2025 12:33

Congratulations to those that got offers today.
For those that didn't fingers cross there will be movement some applied to both Habs girls and NlCS

For NLCS, in our experience, convincing DD to go for her assessment was the only challenging part. First round, as we gathered from DD was playing lego, magnetic tiles, and cutting and pasting dinosaur, and talking with teachers about the shapes/colours that she likes. It was almost 1 hour and she came out with a snack, very happy and smiling. Second round was with a smaller group (4-5 girls), and she told us that they did some pretend shopping exercise and then split into smaller groups for some activities. She described activities as difficult but was happy that teachers said well done to all girls. In the end, she came out with a chocolate, happy and smiling. Overall, the vibe was quite relaxed and teachers seemed kind. On side note, we didnt do any prep with her but did choose a very good nursery that goes until 7 plus with good results so we were quite relaxed in a way.
