@ItsRainingTacos79 sorry no idea - it is tough to say without looking at the actual questions...if it was 'hard', then am guessing 8-9 is about right...am going to assume that will be the required level for SPJ...is madness really 😮

Candyfloss2 · 09/10/2022 13:56

Anyone has back up plans ?
we have Hampton and rokeby as backup . which one of above would be better for none sporty boy ?

It seems like none of those / any schools will guarantee an internal admission at 11+ Anymore .

walkinpark · 09/10/2022 13:59

@Candyfloss2 we will also try for SPJ/City/WUS...sry do not know about the ones you mentioned !

WoodlandWalks123 · 09/10/2022 14:33

@ItsRainingTacos79 not for north London schools - but not dissimilar level - a friend did the 8-9 Bond books and DC got a place - however my DS is not able to do the 8-9 (agree too difficult) and we are only going to the 7-8 and hoping for the best. However I’ve sort of given up on bond books and I’ve got the complete maths guide from EPP and it goes back to basics and quite useful to check DS understanding of everything from the beginning (there are holes!!) - going to be using this in conjunction with past papers from EPP which I think are a pretty robust standard

All those schools offers acceptance dates are 31 th jan?

if any school issuing offer earlier and demand a reply before jan . Will lose out the deposit fee if something better offered in Jan.

walkinpark · 09/10/2022 15:49

@Candyfloss2 am not even thinking about that right now haha

Candyfloss2 · 09/10/2022 16:03

Kings final result out on 23 November
city and latymer deadline are 18th November .
unavoidably registration fee on 18th wasted if offer a YES on 23rd .
and not wasted if its a NO.

Just Incase interviews are weekdays term time . What to say to current school?
absence request due to application interview to another school ?

ItsRainingTacos79 · 09/10/2022 18:06

I would just say DS has an appointment rather than going into too much detail with current school.

I had a look at the bond reasoning 8-9 books but they seem to be same as EPP 7+ papers in level...or at least type of questions..anyone else feel that too?

ItsRainingTacos79 · 10/10/2022 20:15

Here are a selection from our Bond book 8-9 years Verbal Reasoning. They start off fine but suddenly jump in complexity.

Candyfloss2 · 12/10/2022 11:06

I haven’t got any email yet . I am checking my junk email

Glassofmerlot · 12/10/2022 11:21

Candyfloss2 · 12/10/2022 11:54

They r busy eating lunch and tea .
then maybe send all at 5:30pm.
so that they could enjoy a night of peace off work?

walkinpark · 12/10/2022 13:22

Just got our King's email with a 'No'

that is outrageous ! I cannot believe some schools are so petty !

to be fair it is often clearly stated when you join 'We are a 13+ school and will not support the 11+ or provide references' or similar. Some won't return the deposit if you leave at 11+, again all in the Ts and Cs on joining.

Glassofmerlot · 12/10/2022 13:28

Just received a next stage email. Cant believe it!!

Candyfloss2 · 12/10/2022 13:28

We got a no

Naliny · 12/10/2022 13:48

We got a next stage too.

Naliny · 12/10/2022 13:49

I wonder how many get invited to the next stage..
