Is anyone else dying to find out which school they have been allocated?

This is for my PFB which makes it extra difficult for me :(

I can't talk about it in real life as it starts off as a nice casual conversation ending with some delusions of grandeur PFB nonsense Blush

I have stripped the beds.emptier bin cleaned the bathroom.washing and hoover next.

Ready gloaty boastful post on community group about their local school outstanding it's lovely to celebrate success but on same week when many local parents won't get that school despite it being near I feel tad insensitive. Seems to be alright jack attitude when comes to schools.

I'm hoping my mates who put that school get a place wasent on my list so kept my beak out and resisted commenting.

Also when you don't get a place you get 3 daft responses. Appeal and you win. That's schools on the up yet would never dream of sending my child there or don't worry your child's bright they do well anywhere.

I resent fact high house prices buy good schools. some of time. With 1 child at least be cheaper to pay private than pay over odds for school in area you still may not get into.

floatyflo · 15/04/2015 11:07

Hi all, I have applied for a school out of catchment as it is actually closer and nicer than our catchment one. We have a good chance of getting a place going on last admissions but I am so nervous about it! Roll on tomorrow. Pfb too Btw!

Gileswithachainsaw · 15/04/2015 11:13

It's hard isn't it 3as

I will genuinely be happy for others I know will get in ahead of dd. but I will also be gutted because once again my child gets screwed over.

I get all the appeal crap from family. how on earth do they think. I can win one.

and now child isn't bright. She won't do well anywhere. She will not understand why she can't be with her sister and the other children she knows and she will struggle to make herself understood.

MTWTFSS · 15/04/2015 11:26

There are 4 children on my road waiting to hear about schools tomorrow Shock I wonder what we'll all get.

Helloo, does anyone have any experience of Oxfordshire and when they send their emails out?

Good luck everyone!

Gileswithachainsaw · 15/04/2015 11:34

No ms I don't. but welcome to the thread Smile

hopefully someone will know on here and tell you.

OXFORDSHIRE anyone?!!!

Twoplus3 · 15/04/2015 11:40

Giles, I have the same feeling! Our first choice is a catholic out of catchment where his sister goes and our second choice is our local primary where he currently attends nursery. We live approx 0.4 miles from our second choice but I stupidly checked the last distance offered from last year and it was 0.3 miles. I don't particularly want our second choice school as I want both of my children together but it would even worse if we weren't offered either and my ds ended up at a third school miles away. It sounds daft but I never even thought of that as a real possibility until this morning:(

Gileswithachainsaw · 15/04/2015 11:43

Not daft at all. I know exactly what you mean.
There is no way without paying for childcare/wraparound care we can't afford that I can get them to different schools. no way. and no one near us goes to dd1s school.

MTWTFSS · 15/04/2015 11:46

If this is how I feel today I can not imagine how I'll feel tomorrow waiting for that email! :(

Gileswithachainsaw · 15/04/2015 11:48

I'm nervous as hell. it'd suddenly really going to happen. We are less than 24 hrs away from knowing if our kids can go to school or not. dd honesty may not be able to go at all

MTWTFSS · 15/04/2015 11:51

I only find out from 3pm onwards :(

MTWTFSS · 15/04/2015 11:52

I'm comfort eating for everyone! (Especially you Giles)

Twoplus3 · 15/04/2015 11:53

Aw no 3pm, that's torture, I really don't know why they make us wait so long, they've had all the allocations for weeks now.

3asAbird · 15/04/2015 11:54

Ahh I'm. In stress phone won't let me log into council went on tablet council log in page not accepting my details now trying fire up broken netbook go through old emails.requestee password change nothing come through just blooming group on email.i can't remember last year what time emails sent later I think in morning.

It's much worse when have 2 kids offered different schools in my case 3 in sept why can't most jump ties understand how hard it is by foot no family nearby.i resent paying after school care to do it.

mrspuddleduckie · 15/04/2015 11:55

You can log in and see at midnight for Oxfordshire, or wait for the email during the day tomorrow

seafoodeatit · 15/04/2015 11:58

Today is going too slowly, on my email it says we find out at midnight but right now it feels like a lifetime away!

Does anyone else feel like they're on election results night?

We live almost completely in between our first and second choice schools - however our second choice is closer by 0.1miles, but our first choice is just perfect for him.

I too hate house prices having such a big impact - we're 0.5 miles away, to get to 0.3 our rent would literally double!

MTWTFSS · 15/04/2015 12:10

seafoodeatit Agreed about house prices! All the best schools are always surrounded by the most expensive properties :(

MTWTFSS · 15/04/2015 12:22

Sounds yum. I'm supposed to be cooking steak tonight. dp picked it out for dinner but I'm struggling to wolf down lunch with dd.

I was asked to do some OT at work this week but I couldn't face it. I'm currently relieved Dds speech therapist just called and rearranged tomorrow's appointment as I'm not going to be with it tomorrow at all. Just need my dad to cancel tonight and I'm done

Gileswithachainsaw · 15/04/2015 12:40
