Primary school places !!!

Is anyone getting nervous for the primary school places next week? It's all I can thunk about now , the 18th simply can't get here soon enough , I would be happy if my DS got any of his 3 choices but does anyone have any idea of his chances if getting in one of them if they are all within a radius if one and a half miles from our home. My ideal choice would his first choice which is a catholic school which is 0.6 miles from home but is always oversubscribed, we attend mass every week and had all forms signed by the priest etc but don't know how much of a chance he has if getting it , any advice would be great as am worrying alot now the date is getting nearer.

i did email her to say "take it thats a No then!" and she just kept saying that she wasn't referring to me but then each email was ended with things like "letter will have all the details if unsuccessful" or "email me if necessary as phone lines will be busy and i will get back to you"

DD is not back at school til monday - result is 6pm Monday but not sure whether to go in and see head monday morning?

We got our first choice school

Aghhhhh the suspense is KILLING me!!! Single mum and work full time, it is going to be impossible to manage work if I have to travel an age to get DD to school. God knows what time we'll find out as well - just says evening.....what the hell constitutes evening??

my lea told me by evening they meant after 6pm?

Woohoooo! Just checked the council website and ds2 has his place at our 1st choice.

Phew.

Fingers crossed for everyone else now.

We're thrilled - both infant and junior allocated first choice. SUCH a relief.

Does anyone know if the e-mail contains which school you've got? OR does it give you a code or something to access the website to find out the result?

Not sure if this is helpful but my DD had her secondary school allocated this year - the surrey website let me log in before I got the email. HTH

Check your lea website if you haven't had an email. My email didn't come through until 8 this morning (they said we would be emailed after 00:30)but at
00:30 I logged in to my application and it come up 1st preference offered!

I haven't received an email yet but I logged into eadmissions and the result was there. (Surrey)

Gives you the name of the school in the email and the link to the website where you can accept/decline offer etc.

I just got my email and DD has been offered our first choice primary school - yay!

I was expecting a link to find out the results on a website, but the email actually said what school she was offered and that this was our first choice.

We got our 4th choice school...sigh...better than nothing...a catholic school for a completely non religious family!! Go figure!! And the school isn't even built yet!! There will be 60 children only in September (2 classes of 30 in a portable classroom). Guess I will go on waiting lists....

Hurrah, DD got into our first choice school! Such a relief as it's at the end of our road, an excellent school, highly over-subscribed and with a nursery year full of siblings.

I didn't get an email. Yet. I logged onto the admissions website on the off chance and there it was.

Such a relief. Though in honesty I would have been happy with our other 5 choices too. But she's at nursery at our first choice and has made friends, all of whom live really close by.

Perhaps you all who have not recieved emails yet should log in to your admissions website instead.

Got our 2nd choice, woohoo!

Farbol I guess one is last to get a catchment place, so she should get them both on the waiting list at each other's school immediately. Often lots of movement over next few months and acceptance of private school offers etc

Just logged on on the off chance.....first choice!! Wahoo!!!!

Second choice for us. I am really pleased. :)

We have to wait till Friday :(

All these results coming in have me more nervous with having to wait until Friday, I just logged onto the admissions site to view and check (for the billionth time!) our application, just got to reassure myself it is all right, address right, sibling currently at school right, phew, we really shouldn't have a problem, but the nerves are still getting at me until I get that conformation. We have only applied to the one school as there is no other option really, next nearest school is over 2 miles away and all the schools near us are oversubscribed so we wouldn't get a place even if we applied!

Still waiting. They have extra places at our local school but if we don't get a place today we should get one at the continued interest stage in a month's time. We should get in anyway....
