Primary school places !!!

Is anyone getting nervous for the primary school places next week? It's all I can thunk about now , the 18th simply can't get here soon enough , I would be happy if my DS got any of his 3 choices but does anyone have any idea of his chances if getting in one of them if they are all within a radius if one and a half miles from our home. My ideal choice would his first choice which is a catholic school which is 0.6 miles from home but is always oversubscribed, we attend mass every week and had all forms signed by the priest etc but don't know how much of a chance he has if getting it , any advice would be great as am worrying alot now the date is getting nearer.

Thanks for reading and sorry for rambling xxx

logged in to the website and found out the outcome.
e-mail still hasn't arrived.

so to those still waiting for e-mail, maybe you could log in and see?
i suppose they are staggering the e-mails to prevent a website crash....

goingtoofast · 18/04/2012 18:01

mummytofive · 18/04/2012 18:01

NoWayNoHow · 18/04/2012 18:03

Sorry, Brain meant Richmond Borough Council (as opposed to Surrey Council). Richmond BC are also doing an evening email. Grrr.

HalleLouja · 18/04/2012 18:04

Still waiting might log in after dinner.

headfairy · 18/04/2012 18:08

Oh thanks so much for that top tip kipsey, just logged in to the website as you suggested... We got our first choice!!!!!! I am sooooo relieved!!!

Sending top choice vibes to all those still waiting to hear the outcome x

headfairy · 18/04/2012 18:09

Oh, and I'm another Surrey person so definitely log in if you're in Surrey.

gleemama · 18/04/2012 18:09

We don't find out till next week. Am so nervous. First choice is a lovely small school. I really want DD to get in, I think she would thrive in this school. Second and third choices are much bigger schools, and I think DD would struggle settling in. All her friends have applied to the first school, and they all would have a better chance of getting a place. She wont know anyone in the other schools. I could cry at the thought of all her friends going to the first choice school without her.
Well done to everyone to has got there first choice. Wish I just knew. I don't think she will get in, but I just want to know, so I can get used to it.

Melfish · 18/04/2012 18:10

Richmond ladies- just checked on the e-admissions/PAN london website and DD's school place has been confirmed on there. Didn't have the email, just checked on the off chance. Good luck.

whattodoo · 18/04/2012 18:19

Got our first choice. Very happy! (herts)

ljny · 18/04/2012 18:21

Does anyone know how many waitlists you're allowed in the London borough of Haringey?

sunnyday123 · 18/04/2012 18:23

ljiny - my understanding is as many as you want - regardless of what your lea says it is - some set limits but thats not right apparently

HalleLouja · 18/04/2012 18:26

We got first choice.

Glittertwins · 18/04/2012 18:27

Emails were sent out at 5pm, not 6 as stated! I got mobbed by friends at nursery wanting to know! We got our second choice school which is what we expected. Friend over the road got theirs and our first choice - according to the distance calc, they are 30m nearer that school than us even though it wasn't the nearest school for them.

NoWayNoHow · 18/04/2012 18:27

Richmond Borough Council peeps, just use the User name in the original email confirmation to log into the www.eadmissions.org.uk and the results are up there, even though I haven't had an email through yet.

Got first choice!!! Literally weeping!!

designerbaby · 18/04/2012 18:33

We got Afghanistan so I guess I'm writing that cheque for £112k.
OUCH OUCH OUCH...

I don't actually know if i"m [happy] or Sad TBH.
I'm going to be considerably poorer, I know that much.

Still, no difficult decisions to make...

Hmm

BulletProofMum · 18/04/2012 18:35

I can't stand the tension. I'm Surrey and still waiting. Can't remember my log in details :(

BulletProofMum · 18/04/2012 18:43

Managed to log on but it just thanked me for taking part in their text trial. Trying not to have an irrational fear I somehow didn't apply!

Kitsilano · 18/04/2012 18:45

We are in Richmond and have been offered......no school place at all.

sunnyday123 · 18/04/2012 18:46

Shock Kitsilano really? Thats a disgrace

headfairy · 18/04/2012 18:47

Bulletproof... Did you keep you confirmation email of your eadmissions application? Your login details are in that.

My email has arrived now, at 6.40pm.

Kitsilano · 18/04/2012 18:47

"No offer possible

Unfortunately it is not possible to offer a place for your child at any of the schools you stated as a preference in your application.

Currently we have been unable to offer you a school place.
You will shortly receive a letter from Richmond upon Thames with full details of the decision and what to do next. Please read this letter before doing anything further."

OhDoAdmitMrsDeVere · 18/04/2012 18:51

Kit that is awful Sad

Just come on to say I got my first (out of the only two I could chose) school.

But feel really bad for you.

JugglingWithTangentialOranges · 18/04/2012 18:52

Oh, poor you Kitsilano - that sounds a bit of a worry, but I'm sure they have to offer you somewhere by September don't they ?

sunnyday123 · 18/04/2012 18:53

thats so terrible Kitsilano :(

How far is your nearest good school?

Did you list schools which you had little chance of getting in or is your area very busy?

I feel guilty now being pissed off at probable 2 school runs
