When did you/your DD start periods?

I was 13 and DD is now nearly 13, but not started yet, though she’s needed a bra for a couple of years and is already as tall as me. She’s still very slim though (unlike her mother!). I guess it won’t be long until she starts and I feel a bit as if I’m on standby.

How old were you in comparison with your DDs?

I was 12 and 3 months. DD is currently 12 and 8 months and no sign yet.

I was 9 almost 10 when I started mine in third year at junior school. I was quite chubby but not very tall, I grew when I started senior school in the first year, I was very ill having chicken pox, measles & mumps straight after each other & was off school for nearly a term, I started senior school 4'11" & when I went back after being ill I was 5'6".

I was 12. She was 10.

I was 10. Dd is 9.5 and nothing yet.I hope she gets to 12/13 though

DD and I were very similar ages, I started 2-3 weeks before my 12th birthday and DD started one month before her 12th birthday.

My mum was 11, I was 13. I have 3 sisters who were 11, 13 and 15 when they started.

I did everything late, so no periods until I was about 14 and 4 months. I was quite underweight at that age but my oldest started puberty earlier, at more normative weight - can't remember exactly when periods started but I think it was not long after turning 12.

I started five days before my 16th birthday.
Dd 1 started on 12th bd
Dd 2 started at 10.5.

Went through menopause at 44
I guess I didn't get my full quota of eggs!

I was 12. Both my sisters were 11-12 too, as was my mother when she got hers. I was underweight and small and have been most of my life so really disagree with others saying it is associated with weight. It is down to genetics.

I was 13, DD is in year 7 (aged 11) and has just had her first period.
