When did you/your DD start periods?

I was 13 and DD is now nearly 13, but not started yet, though she’s needed a bra for a couple of years and is already as tall as me. She’s still very slim though (unlike her mother!). I guess it won’t be long until she starts and I feel a bit as if I’m on standby.

How old were you in comparison with your DDs?

My mum was 12, I was 14 and a half - I was a much slimmer build than my mum though, and had undiagnosed coeliac disease. I started signs of puberty at 10 so felt like I was waiting for ages

My daughters were 16. They were very premature babies though and quite slim.

I was 13 and 2 months, DD was 13 and 4 months. My mum was 11.

I don’t have a DD, but I was a week off my fifteenth birthday and my mum was 13.

My DD started when she was 14 and so did I. This is fairly late I've heard, she's now 15 and still not regular, she's just come on after a 5 month wait! Seriously look at period pants for your DD, my DD swears my them, Modibodi are the best.

I was 15. Very small for my age. Dr at the time told me it could be weight related. DD was almost 14.
I think mum and sister were also about 14 and we're all petite.

Both of us nearly 15. Both tall, strong and slightly chubby.

Last year of primary school for both of us. Both tall and skinny

I was 17. DD1 was 17, DD2 was 14
Both I and DD1 were very athletic and it’s common for menarche to be delayed in athletes. DD2 had CFS/ME so was on zero exercise.

that doesnt tell much about how much the two of you differ unless you are born on the same day or at least the same month ;)

Christmas Day 🙈 3 months before my 15th birthday, but I bled 3 weeks out of every 4 for the first 2 years.

By my 20s I was only getting 3 a year, and in my 30s I don’t always get one a year.

Dd1 was 11. Dd2 is 10 and I don’t think it will be any time soon for her. I was 13.

I don’t have a daughter but I was 11, my mother was 11 and her mother was 12.

I was 16, my mum was younger and was a bit worried mine hadn't started but then she asked my dad's sister and she didn't start until 16 either. I'm not sure how much of a link there is there, or if it's just your mother that is relevant rather than other female relatives, but I am physically a lot more like my dad's side of the family anyway. I was also very thin, as is my aunt.

She is small and very slim (exactly the same as me at that age)

Dd and I were both 12. I was much heavier than she is now.

I was 16. Never had another one until I was 17. I was very tiny for my age.

DD1 was 12.5, slim build, but quite tall.

DD2 was 11.5, very slim build & short for her age. I really didn’t expect her to start until much later.

I was 11 and both dds were also 11, they started at almost exactly the same age, within a couple of weeks, though DD2 was taller/heavier than DD1 was at the same age.
