China instructs all local governments, except Beijing and Hubei province, to streamline the "orderly return to work"

WeBuiltCisCityOnSexistRoles · 04/03/2020 10:45

@FleetsumNLangCleg I have decided against it (which I am really disappointed about, particularly missing the MN singing Grin) but A. my lungs aren't up to singing atm and B that's exactly why I'm not going. I think if I wasn't in a at risk group and usually healthy I think I might chance it, but equally I wouldn't recommend to someone else that they should go...it is a hard decision.

I am really struggling to remember not to kiss Blush I actually don't kiss lots of people Grin but DH and I are always kissing and it's so hard as it's so automatic! I might start wearing a balaclava in the house

What are people doing if they have travel insurance that doesn't include coronavirus? Just looking at my policy now and not sure what I need to be looking for on it. Who covers? I'm sure someone said on here. I may purchase and cancel this one if I'm still struggling. thanks

Iran reports 586 new cases of coronavirus and 15 new deaths, raising total to 2,922 cases and 92 dead t.co/eUoE2b20hL

I think amazon have removed ads that make false claims, but these disgusting price hikes is exactly how capitalism works. Profit over people. Survival of the ruthless. It’s not a society.

I’m pretty sure all my local pharmacies still have hand gel so same for that too

MoonlightMistletoe · 04/03/2020 11:00

@itsnotjustflu it's sad it really is that even before this virus occurred people are still not getting the things they need in order to live comfortably especially if it can be helped.

All we can do is help our loved ones I was thinking when things get worse would it be possible for us to wear those suits so that we can come into our family members home to help them if they need? That way we can have some sort of protection to prevent passing onto them, or is that a silly idea?

Galleyfm · 04/03/2020 11:01

I've just ordered two small bottles (2 max per customer) of strawberry and raspberry hand sanitiser from Superdrug. Not sure on the alcohol content but it's 66p so worth it for me regardless. It seems to be in stock.

My local supermarket was sold out of the antibacterial wipes where they're kept near the tissues, but they had some intimate antibacterial ones near the tampons and sanitary towels section. So that might be a good place to look if you can't find any. They just have that word written on them, but the packet also shows a picture of a laptop, aeroplane and an umberella. Plus they're biodegradable too!

FleetsumNLangCleg · 04/03/2020 11:01

Thanks WeBuiltCisCityOnSexistRoles, still so uncertain. I felt so bummed that I missed that last WPUK event in London, and my DC have encouraged me to go. But if I catch anything it tends to end up with pneumonia or pleurisy, and have been getting the flu shot for years because of that. And yet this might be my last trip for a while so I should not lose the opportunity...

Galleyfm · 04/03/2020 11:02

Actually 61p

NatoPMT · 04/03/2020 11:07

Just seen in the media that people are buying condoms to protect their fingers from lift buttons etc

Made me wonder... Googled if spermicide kills viruses and it can 😂😂

(Disclaimer: no spermicide to my knowledge has killed covid-19 but it definitely hasn’t caused any unwanted pregnancies yet either)

Orangecake123 · 04/03/2020 11:07

I tried to order from superdrug. Whilst it let me add to my basket. There's no stock local to me:

Galleyfm · 04/03/2020 11:11

It was the only gel I could order, at the time I ordered I could order via delivery or collection. I've just looked now and it is oos. Sorry it must have sold quickly. I hope some on here managed to get some if wanted.

NutellaQuest · 04/03/2020 11:13

Oh, I thought the shelves of my local Boots had been cleared of condoms because people were stocking up for self isolation/marathon shagging sessions. Blush

YoursTunbridgeWells · 04/03/2020 11:14

@FleetsumNLangCleg I am supposed to be going to an indoor concert tomorrow - capacity 2k (not sold out but quite popular). Part of me says I really shouldn't go, that these sort of events should be cancelled. Part of me says it's the last concert I might get to see. Impossible choices.

Orchidflower1 · 04/03/2020 11:16

@NutellaQuest me too!

Orchidflower1 · 04/03/2020 11:17

Away from the whole condom thing, is anyone else surprised that crufts is still going ahead?
I genuinely thought it would be at least postponed.

Puppycorn · 04/03/2020 11:19

All shelves of dettol wipes are empty here at Sainsbury’s CMK now. Even the kitchen/floor wipes. I wanted to buy some of my usual dettol kitchen wipes after the cleaner emptied one of mine last week and I couldn’t find any now.

TheABC · 04/03/2020 11:24

It's worth watching the way coronovirus is developing in other countries, especially Italy as that's a good indication of what to expect here. I can't see the Government shutting down entire cities: too much disruption and organisation needed. They are more likely to tell individuals to self isolate.

WitchDoc · 04/03/2020 11:24

Took our dog to the groomers yesterday (he goes 3 monthly) & I joked over booking the next appointment in case we were quarantined.

She told me she's going to Crufts... I expect a lot of Groomers are, & she was worrying about having to quarantine for 2 weeks after the show if there's a case there. She's so lovely though, she was more concerned about passing it on to her grandparents.
Might be something worth considering if your dog is booked in in the next couple of weeks.

itsnotjustflu · 04/03/2020 11:35

Just seen they've cancelled London Book fair so they are cancelling some events...just not all as yet

Puppycorn · 04/03/2020 11:36

Other than that all the shelves have been refilled and the stocks are full. No zinc lozenges or any supplements of that sort in the pharmacy though. Was able to get only 2 of the vit c zinc fizzy tabs (sainsburys one has higher zinc than other popular brands) but that’s fine than having nothing. I can also see everyone maintaining a 2 metre distance between each other.

EliK · 04/03/2020 11:38

I'm doing driving lessons once a week and my instructor mentioned a few weekends away coming up, meeting friends from Spain and a holiday to France. I'm bit worried about potential spread, especially being in an enclosed space. I don't want to cancel but I think I might have to at some point.
