Abortion tablets

I recently found out I was pregnant after splitting with my partner and have decided to have an abortion.
Due to covid, I've had the tablets posted out to me..

I had the first tablet today and will be taken the next 6 tomorrow but I've read in the booklet that you can either put them up your vagina or put them in your mouth however the mouth option can cause more sickness / diarrhoea..

Just wondering if anyone did the mouth option and how they felt and how bad the side effects were etc..

@quirkyusername was your first one at two weeks? Yeah my first one and second one were positive. Then I went to the clinic and they dipped it and it was negative but as I still haven't had a period 8 weeks on I'm a little bit worried. I did a home one and it's still positive (I know they detect a lower level of hormone so it is probably just taking a while to leave my body) but the brown discharge happened too and just wondered if anyone else experienced this?

QuirkyUsernameHere · 13/05/2020 12:27

@gingerbeerandlemonade I haven't done a test yet since I took the tablets.. but I don't know if I'm at the brown discharge stage..
it's like, very dark blood but not blood? If that makes sense?
Like when I wipe it's just dark🙈😂

How is everyone? I’m a week down the line and at a slight brown discharge stage now too.
Got to do the test on Tuesday. My symptoms have gone now. Have weird stomach pains though- a bit like after pains of birth? Could it be everything moving back in the right place as I was 9 weeks??

QuirkyUsernameHere · 15/05/2020 08:33

@sunandrose I started getting a few weird cramps and pains around a week after I did mine

I'm now 2.5 weeks post tablets and my sleep is just about going back to normal.
I'm due to to do my test next Tuesday coming so 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼

Hi @QuirkyUsernameHere and everyone

All good here, thanks for asking. I finally stopped bleeding a couple of days ago and took my test this morning which was negative, so I can breathe a sigh of relief

How about you? X

QuirkyUsernameHere · 18/05/2020 09:56

@TingTastic oh that's great!
I'm going to take my test now so fingers crossed 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼

Fantastic, what a relief

SunnyDays3 · 18/05/2020 11:30

@tingtastic @quirkyusernamehere oh that’s brilliant! Def a relief for you both. I am going to be taking the tablets this week I’m petrified but can’t wait until it’s all over. I will then be worrying if it’s worked or not please pray it does 😰

QuirkyUsernameHere · 18/05/2020 11:31

@SunnyDays3 everything will be okay ❤️

TingTastic · 18/05/2020 11:40

@SunnyDays3 just remember that thousands of women do it every day. The clinics really know what they are doing. It hardly ever fails and the clinic will sort it out if there are any problems

Hugs x

SunnyDays3 · 18/05/2020 12:07

Thank you both for the support and it’s comforting to know others like yourselves have gone through it xx

QuirkyUsernameHere · 18/05/2020 12:33

@SunnyDays3 how far gone are you, do you know? Xx

OP posts:
SunnyDays3 · 18/05/2020 14:39

@QuirkyUsernameHere 5/6 weeks x

QuirkyUsernameHere · 18/05/2020 14:42

@SunnyDays3 that's how far gone I was..
I found the experience not that bad to be honest. Whether that was because I was only around 5-6 weeks or because I was sent codiene which really, really helped with the pain x

@QuirkyUsernameHere I’m hoping the same for me I’m usually good with pain so il just grin and bear it. Sorry to be graphic but did you no when u had passed the pregnancy or did u not have a clue when it came away? I’m waiting on them ringing me back with the telephone consultation then il be able to go and get the medication. Iv got really bad nauseous with the pregnancy I just hope the tablets don’t make me worse. After a few days did you know it had gone or did you ever doubt u could still be preg or did u feel totally normal again. Sorry for all the questions xx

QuirkyUsernameHere · 18/05/2020 15:08

@SunnyDays3 don't worry!
Urm at the time, I didn't know but thinking back there was a time when I went to the toilet and felt 'a clot' bigger than normal which I presume was it..

Urm I only started to feel abit sick a few days before I took the tablets.
And I got heartburn last week and the week before so I got paranoid thinking I was still pregnant. But the test said today that I wasn't.. so.

And the next day, I woke up feeling very fresh and almost like a weight had been lifted.
Whether that is psychological or what, I don't know. But I've seen a few others say the same thing.

But don't hesitate to message on here if you have any questions.. we've all been in the same position xx

So glad you’ve got negative results! I’ll be doing my test in the morning and then have a call from the clinic.

I’m still getting the occasional ‘early labour’ type pain and sporadic bleeding. I’m beginning to wonder if I’ve anything left, so will probably have to get that checked tomorrow...

I knew I had passed something. Only quickly glanced but I could tell....

I started having terrible nausea that week and it pretty much went the next day x

SunnyDays3 · 19/05/2020 13:08

Hi @sunandrose how did the test go? X

sunandrose · 19/05/2020 15:46

Negative! Pains gone too. Just had last call from clinic so it’s all done now. Massive relief!

How’s everyone else doing?

Thanks for asking x

TingTastic · 19/05/2020 19:41

Ok, so I started bleeding again today (after stopping for a few days). Any ideas? It’s 3 weeks since I took the tablets so surely too soon for my period? (Although it feels a lot like the beginning of my period)

QuirkyUsernameHere · 19/05/2020 22:06

@TingTastic is it heavy or kinda like spotting?

I've not bled for about a week now, all clear but I'll keep my eye out incase I start again x

OP posts:
TingTastic · 19/05/2020 23:19

Just spotting at the moment but that’s how my period always starts. I’ll just see how it goes I guess

QuirkyUsernameHere · 20/05/2020 09:18

@TingTastic I've woke up this morning with what feels like slight period cramps and I'm 3 weeks and a day post tablets so it could be your body just going through the change and getting ready for a period again? 🤷🏼‍♀️
