Abortion tablets

I recently found out I was pregnant after splitting with my partner and have decided to have an abortion.
Due to covid, I've had the tablets posted out to me..

I had the first tablet today and will be taken the next 6 tomorrow but I've read in the booklet that you can either put them up your vagina or put them in your mouth however the mouth option can cause more sickness / diarrhoea..

Just wondering if anyone did the mouth option and how they felt and how bad the side effects were etc..

@sunandrose that's good! Positive mental attitude!

And no, I didn't experience anything after the first one. Was completely normal x

Hello all,

I took the first pill at about 1pm today. I didn’t get codeine in my pack so have gone out and stocked up on painkillers ready for the next phase.

As soon as I’d taken the first pill I had a catch up with a friend on FaceTime. She doesn’t know what’s going on, was just nice to have a distraction! Made a roast dinner this afternoon and been building some small furniture this evening. I have managed to keep my mind off things and looking forward to getting it all over and done with. I hope everyone is okay and have still managed to enjoy their weekend xxx

@northnorth
Will be thinking of you tomorrow. Have you got a hot water bottle?
I rotated my Paracetamol and ibuprofen every 2 hours (so each where 4 hours apart - if that makes sense)
Hot water bottle was my go to thing yesterday, it really helped when the cramps got worst.
Xx

northnorth · 03/05/2020 21:36

Thank you - I do have a hot water bottle, that’s a good suggestion !

I have my two children with me so hopefully it won’t be too horrendous xxx

Namechangecrazy2020 · 03/05/2020 21:43

I had my two also.
It wasn't as bad as I expected. Just period cramps/early labour pains. When the pain killers didnt work DP got me a hot water bottle which eased the pain.
Put netflix on and watched a film.
As soon as it passed the cramps went away. Were all here if you want a chat! Xx

sunandrose · 03/05/2020 22:17

@northnorth thinking of you, let us know how it goes tomorrow. I’ll be 5 hours behind you.
I don’t have a hot water bottle to hand- I think it’s in a box that never got unpacked when we moved. Might try Sainsbury’s tomorrow morning...

Got our two little ones here too, one of the reasons I took the tablets in the evening. Although the baby is currently rubbish at sleeping through now and is still in our room as the builder couldn’t come to start the job due to bloody lockdown. So that could be interesting tomorrow...

I’m glad your friend helped take your mind off things. We’ve just had a Zoom quiz and that’s helped as I anticipated feeling very sorry for myself and all over the place.

Strangely, I feel calm and at peace with the decision. Hopefully the relief will come on a Tuesday.

I’m sure like everyone else here, these past few weeks have been horrific. Really emotionally draining, I’ve gone through every scenario and decision over and over until finally getting to where I am now. Lockdown hasn’t helped and what with pregnancy symptoms too, I’ve just not been very present for my children.
Let’s hope things start to brighten up for us all soon Flowers

@northnorth @sunandrose

I'll be thinking of you both tomorrow Thanks

@Namechangecrazy2020 I’m glad you’re over the worst of it

@northnorth and @sunandrose

Thinking if you both tomorrow. Hopefully your experience will be much the same as the rest of us. It was the first few hours that were the worst so try and think about timing of taking the second pills (with mine it was any time 24-48 hours after the first pill so a lot of leeway). It really wasn’t that bad though, especially after the pregnancy had passed xx

sunandrose · 04/05/2020 08:33

Thanks Tingtastic.
I’ve woken up today feeling acceptance but now a little sad about what will happen. Just want it over now .

Thinking of you @northnorth

sunandrose · 04/05/2020 12:40

how are you doing @northnorth? X

northnorth · 04/05/2020 15:00

Hi guys,

I inserted the pills about half n hour or so ago now. Slight cramping has just started. Marie Stopes asks you to insert 4 pills and they only have you insert two more if the bleeding doesn’t start for 3 hours after first 4.

How is everyone today?

Xxx

sunandrose · 04/05/2020 15:37

Hope it goes well for you.

That’s the same dosage as I’ve been prescribed. It sounds like things are starting for you, fingers crossed.

Did you take any pain relief before you took the tablets?

I’ve got some very slight cramping now from the first tablet. Going to do mine at about 730.

Lots of luck with it, keep us posted x

QuirkyUsernameHere · 04/05/2020 15:54

@northnorth that sounds abit, different?
With BPAS I was advised to do the first four and then followed by the second two.

There was someone on here who said they didn't take the last two and ended up with a positive test three week later so I don't if that was because she didn't do the last two tablets or was just unfortunate?

Glad you're both okay though ❤️

Namechangecrazy2020 · 04/05/2020 16:06

Mine was the same as @QuirkyUsernameHere BPAS advised 4 and then 2 more 3-4 hours afterwards.
Perhaps it could be different companies saying different things?
How are you both doing @northnorth @sunandrose? Coping well I hope? Xx

sunandrose · 04/05/2020 16:27

Oh that’s interesting- I’ll double check but I’m sure it says 2 more if you don’t bleed...

The poor lady, gettinga positive after all of this.

I’m doing ok thanks. Had a few feelings of sadness earlier and was beginning to question what I’ve done but then reality set in and I just this over with now.

Ladies who’ve recently taken the tablets, did your pregnancy symptoms fade pretty much straight away? X

TingTastic · 04/05/2020 16:52

@sunandrose sickness had mostly gone the day after I took the second pills. Sore boobs have just gone today (a week after first pill)

I was told to only take last 2 pills if no bleeding after 3 hours as well x

Namechangecrazy2020 · 04/05/2020 16:53

This is what my information leaflet says.

My sickness has gone away today. I took the 6 tablets Saturday. Also feel a bit more energetic! Hopefully you'll feel alright soon :) xx

Hi guys,

Bleeding has started now and cramps. Not too bad at the mo but suspect it will ramp up soon.

It is definitely 4 and then 2 more at Marie Stopes. I wrote it down when I spoke to the nurse and it is in the leaflet too. To be honest, I think 6 would have sped the process up a little. If I was more of a rebel I would have taken the 6 🙈 but want to do what they’ve advised.

Xxx

Definitely, if thats what they've advised you to do.
Thinking of you @northnorth xx

QuirkyUsernameHere · 04/05/2020 17:15

@sunandrose yeah deffo double check on that one.
I know I posted saying that the final two are recommended to be taking orally instead of in your vagina if you're bleeding because if you put them up, but bleed then they will just come out.

I've still got sore boobs.. but I no longer feel bloated like I was doing. I never had any sickness or any other symptoms.. just sore boobs and feeling bloated. Oh and I was constipated abit.. sorry if TMI but I used to go every day and since I was pregnant and whatever, I've probably been going every other or every other other day.

@northnorth hope you're still feeling okay xx

sunandrose · 04/05/2020 19:19

Thanks for info- I need to do 4 ‘up’ and then 2 in my mouth if nothing happens after 3 hours too.

I’m glad things have started for you @northnorth, hopefully it won’t be too much longer.

Ah I guess things take a while to go back to normal, hormone wise. I think it takes 2 weeks for levels to reduce, which is why it’s 2 weeks for the test.

Just going to have a bath and then get started Sad

QuirkyUsernameHere · 04/05/2020 20:14

@sunandrose I'll be a week tomorrow so hopefully the sore boobs will stop soon!
Mine are quite big anyway and hurt when I run down stairs most days but has been particularly uncomfortable this past month, even just laying on my side in bed has too. 😂

Hope you feel okay this evening.. feel free to post on here as I've not been getting to sleep until past midnight so I'll be up checking it haha

Awww that sounds really painful. Hope it’s gone soon.

Been about 1hr 45 now and nothing.... 🤷‍♀️
