Abortion tablets

I recently found out I was pregnant after splitting with my partner and have decided to have an abortion.
Due to covid, I've had the tablets posted out to me..

I had the first tablet today and will be taken the next 6 tomorrow but I've read in the booklet that you can either put them up your vagina or put them in your mouth however the mouth option can cause more sickness / diarrhoea..

Just wondering if anyone did the mouth option and how they felt and how bad the side effects were etc..

I think my bleeding started around 1.5-2 hours after taking them xx

Don't give up all hope @sunandrose mine was about 1 hour 50 before I started bleeding. Hope youre both doing okay! Xx

@sunandrose hope you’re okay! I’m exactly the same as the ladies above. It took a couple of hours for the bleeding to start. Over the worst now, I think I passed the pregnancy at about 5pm and now I have just heavy bleeding, like a heavy period. Have had to put a towel down on my bed just incase 😬.

I feel a big sense of relief and guilt at the same time. Very strange. Just glad the procedure part is at least done with. Hope everyone is doing okay xxx

Still nothing... 2.5 hours now. Really hoping I don’t have to take the next set of tablets.... x

@northnorth I felt exactly the same after it happened. I now feel fine about it knowing I made the right decision. Hope you're okay! Xx

Hello everyone- hope you’re all doing ok. Thank you so much for your support last night, much appreciated.

So after 3 hours the bleeding started, quite lightly. I had an hour of early labour pains and what I felt like a little pop. Then some lower back ache with some pressure- a very very diluted feeling of the pushing part of birth. I went to the loo and lots of bleeding, clots and that’s when it happened.

All very quick and the nurofen codeine and paracetamol kept the pain manageable.

The bleeding is still very heavy, especially when I stand up, but I think it’s beginning to die down. What was the bleeding like in the hours/the day after?

I feel relieved it’s over. Empty, a touch of sadness about what could’ve been but overall, relief. It’s the hardest decision I’ve ever made but I know it’s the right one for us as a family, especially in these uncertain times. I wish I could change the past bit I can’t so I need to feel at peace and appreciate more than ever what we have.

My bleeding was light the day after but was worst yesterday, but that was just me, I think other girls maybe different. I felt the same as you sadness. But then remembered why I have done it and I'm actually ok with it now. I found comfort in you girls, knowing I wasn't the only one and had you all to talk to. Be kind to yourself xx

Had the worst of the bleeding yesterday evening. Today it’s calmed down a lot and only slight cramping.

@sunandrose glad you’re okay. I think the way you have described how you feel is very similar to how I feel. I hope the bleeding gets a lot better for you.

The day after I was bleeding quite heavy.. to the point where every time I went for a wee, I was just sat there wiping and wiping for a good 5 minutes sometimes..
I think I'll possibly be able to go without wearing a pad tomorrow which is exciting times! 😂

Aw I'm glad you've managed to get comfort out of this! It's a nice feeling that you can help people when you're all going through the same thing

Not sure if this is related.. but occasionally on and off, I've had heartburn and right now it's not budging.
It's making me a bit paranoid as I know people say they get heartburn when pregnant and now I'm thinking if the tablets didn't work 😩🙈🤷🏼‍♀️

Thanks everyone- lots of bleeding all day but it’s tailing off now. Still having cramps and backache but nothing too bad.

I’m glad everyone is doing ok.... the relief is just crazy, I’m sure it’s the same as everyone else, but this has literally consumed me for weeks.

@QuirkyUsernameHere oooh the heartburn. I’ve akways suffered really badly in pregnancy from it. It always kicks in at about 20 weeks for me, I think it’s when things start getting pushed around inside.
Could it be a side effect of the tablets? Or painkillers you’ve been taking? We’re you craving anything weird?
When can you do the test?

Talking of cravings.... I really feel like a dirty Dominos now!!

@sunandrose do you feel like a big weight is lifted.. like you feel a lot lighter and almost, happier?

Yeah that's why I'm abit worried.. two close friends had quite bad heartburn with their pregnancies.
I haven't had any pain relief since last Tuesday which were 4 codeine.. I took two ibuprofen last night for a headache.
It's gone off now, I can still feel it slightly, almost something a bit uncomfortable.

I think they say to do the test after three weeks of taking all 6 tablets so I've got another two week to wait.
I have a spare clear blue of my own and then the one they posted out to me so I can always double double check 😂

Don't talk to me about dominoes I've been craving one for the past two month or so 😂 I really want to try those popcorn chicken things as well haha but my mum was a bit funny about me ordering a takeaway in last Wednesday.. I said I was going to treat myself for been a brave girl and she was like 'hmm I'd rather you not with this virus as we don't know of people working there have been tested' and I was like well isn't that the same as shopping at Tesco?! But secretly I think it was just because my stepdad was home and he doesn't do takeaways hahah

Feeling okay today- bleeding isn’t too bad at all. No cramping. Had a long walk today in the sunshine with my little ones and looking forward to another nice day tomorrow. Feeling a lot more upbeat!

Yep all good here. Still had to wear a pad today as still some bleeding but I'd say it's between spotting and very light now so hopefully only another couple of days xx

I’ve had a very strange night and day!

Started having cramps again late last night and have woken up this morning with heavy bleeding! Very strange it got so light and now heavy again. Now cramps have settled again but the amount of blood is still very much like the first couple day’s on my period.

What about everyone else? How you doing ?

@northnorth keep your eye on it, they say it you're having a change a pad every hour to ring the aftercare line.. is it as bad as that?

Mine got lighter and then heavier again so it might just be running its course.

Yeah I feel okay today.. well, past few hours it's been like someone has turned on the depression tap slowly but surely.
And I just feel ugh.. headache and feel abit sick. But I think it could be all the stress of this just catching up to me

Bleeding is heavy but manageable. Changing pad every 2 hours or so.

The weird thing is I honestly thought Id have the abortion and then I’d be back to normal but it’s been such a strange few days of emotions. @QuirkyUsernameHere I think it’s totally normal for you to feel this way, hope the sunshine is making things a little bit better for you xxx

Last night and now I've got that sort of stomach ache where it's hard to decide whether you've eaten something dodgy and need the toilet or whether it's them sort of period pains?

It woke up me up last night about 2am and it's just started again now.
Last night I was on the toilet for a while but couldn't go so not sure what that's all about? 🤷🏼‍♀️
