Im growing more and more worried about how i might react to the sex of my baby! i hate that im even writing this as there are far more important things than this, but, i have 2 boys already and my sister has a son also, she recently gave birth to a girl and now she and my mum and partner are worried that i may be very dissapointed if i get another boy, i am a very maternal person and there's no way i could ever look at any of my babies and feel disapointed!! but what if they are right? what if when he/she is born and they say its a boy, how will that feel? id hate to think i could EVER feel dissapointed about a baby, has anyone been in this situation? how did it work out?

what a lovely end to the thread.i know when my mum had me he told my mum it was "anotherwedding to pay for" (i'm the youngest of 3 girls) and the first thing my mum said was how sorry she was and that they could try again. i get on ok with my mum and am extremely close with my dad but i think i definetly favour mil. i now have my dd2, she's 2 weeks 2 days old and completely gorgeous, not disappointed at all.

Congratulations Helen!!

I had a girl last year.... which ended a 27 YEAR drought of girls on both DH's and my side of the family! I was so frightened of what my reaction had been had I had another boy. Toward the end of the pregnancy it became less important as I got excited about the birth. I still can't believe I've got a wee girl even now and she's 13mths old!

Congratulations again and enjoy everything that is pink!

hi ive been told that if fhr is above 140 its a girl and if its below 139 its a boy. does anyone know the odds on this actually being right? ive 3 boys and thought i was having another boy but now im not so sure!!lol. i only have 9 days to due date but i REALLY want to know! at least we are having a lot of fun guessing.

If it were true my ds should have been a girl.

to be honest its not that i care either way, as long as its healthy. i miscarried in feburary this year and that kind of put things into perspective for me. then i was desperate for a girl but now i look at my boys and know how lucky i am. i think its 50/50 at the end of the day and the only way to be sure is have a look when its born. but we are having some fun guessing.

I know how you feel. I'm pregnant now and can't wait until the scan to find out. I'm 100% sure it's a girl, but when I look at my ds I realize how great he is and wouldn't mind a little boy again. I think figuring out the sex is the most fun thing about being pregnant.

well we has another boy! that makes 4 now.lol. Thomas was born on 22nd december. Hes a lovley baby but has a few problems so we r putting the baby making on hold for a while!! Id still love a little girl but i reckon the odds would be well stacked against me now after 4 boys so not sure if we will try again. for now we r concentrating on thomas getting better and looking after the other boys too.Who knows..... maybe next time!!
