I've just discovered I am 5.5 weeks pregnant.

In the last 2 years I have had 2 mcs and our dd2 was stillborn at term.

So I don't feel like I fit into the antenatal threads, and don't want to frighten anyone with my experiences.

Anyone else out there who needs a gentle thread?

woollyjo · 29/11/2009 19:19

Hi All,

Good news Winjy hope things continue to go well. I'm getting really bad indegestion at the moment too, and did almost immediately. I believe any form of bloating and windyness is quite normal (if a bit alarming).

Can't believe I have made it to 12 weeks. I am really looking pg now which in many ways is a relief (I hate the fat stage).

Got a bit of a taste for chinese hot & sour soups, last time it was bowls of peas!

Wishing everyone a good week, thinking of you tomorrow Onebaby.

Onebaby - good luck with scan tomorrow!

Mine went well - saw yolk sac, fetal pole and doc was 90% certain she saw a flicker of HB but I was only at 5 weeks so a bit early yet.

My next scan is the 3rd dec - Should be able to see a heartbeat then.

They also started me on the clexine injections - god I havent missed them, first few days didnt hurt at all but now my tummy is a bit tender and today's made me cry...although that could be an overreaction seen as my back hurts (slipped disc) and we had been out shopping alll day!

Still sickly in the mornings and very sickly if I dont snack throughout the day, boobs are AGONY and DS2 squashed one with his hands whilst we where in the bath! (He's 2)

I hope everyone else is ok xx

winjy · 29/11/2009 20:33

hi julez

i second the boobs in agony!! really painful...dp thinks im being a freak coz i have to hold them when i take my bra off!! they're itching too and grown loads!!
but its all good as long as my little bean is growing big and strong xx

woollyjo · 29/11/2009 22:11

I've been in mat clothes since about 8 weeks! but then my bod only had 10 weeks to recover (with 6 of them the post birth period and the rest were hardly full of sit-ups)since Niamh was born. I got to the point where I was dreaming of my joggers (please not I have never jogged in my life) so gave in and got my trust over the bump jeans out.

Going to have to get some more though - alot of my mat clothes are hand-me-downs and so are going through their 5th pregnancy in many cases and are getting a bit tatty which is generally fine (I do tatty well)but it can get you down after a bit. I didn't buy anything new last time as it was going to be my last pg - how little did I know .

If you can get by put of mat clothes as long as possible, they are generally hideous & frumpy unless you buy expensive stuff. As for boobs and bras, in the history of women having babies you would have thought that someone would have come up with something that would keep your expanding norks in check without looking like a surgical truss!

Off to bed

Night!

Hello lovelies.
Looks like its all been good news since I last got on. That is so nice to see.
This 6 month lark is tough. I feel like the last week has been a bit of a blur, but hopefully things will feel a bit brighter until the hideous enforced jollity of christmas hits!
As for maternity wear, I've been in mine properly since 12w this time round , like Woolly, I hardly had time to sort out the tummy muscles in between pregnancies. I look about 6 months gone not 4!
I did do 4 weeks with a 1-2-1 Pilates trainer in between and while my tummy muscles didn't really benefit, I am very thankful for that as my pelvic floor seems to be holding up ok... (so far)

I'm also inhaling Rennie ice to deal with my hideous indigestion.

Otherwise, all seems ok. Getting a few flutters from splodge which is nice. Got the MW on thursday who said that she will refer me for a reassurance scan, which will be nice. I'd love to see splodge again, and I might be able to find out the flavour before christmas.

(((((hugs))))) to all.

hello everyone..Ive been guided towards this thread by lunaticfringe as I have a thread going in pregnancy about my fears.
Im 18 weeks tomorrow..and my last two pregnancies ended in late miscarriages at 16 and 23 weeks..so understandably this pregnancy has been very worrying.
Ive also had problems with bleeding/gestational diabetes etc to add to the stress and Im now finding that instead of enjoying this time im spending most of the time in tears waiting for the inevitible to happen..so I hope you dont mind me tentatively posting here

woollyjo · 30/11/2009 21:20

Hi memorylapse,

Congratulations

So sorry to hear about your last 2 pgs.

You are in good company here and whatever is worrying you come and air it here, we are all fretting & obsessing but trying to keep it together.

Hi I have been lurking for a bit and wonder if i might join, have recently found myself pregnant again after a stillbirth at term i think i am about 61/2 weeks so very early days and am waiting for a scan. I keeping think i am ok but then find myself very worried. I dont think a bit of chat with people going through the same sort of thing can do any harm!

woollyjo · 30/11/2009 21:36

Hi jackie,

Congratulations

my heart goes out to you, there are a few of us here in your situation. Our Niamh was stillborn at term in June I feel like I am holding my breath until baby arrives.

Take Care xx

Thanks, sorry to hear about your daughter, we had a girl as well. Its hard going isnt it.

ozbride · 01/12/2009 08:55

Hi, I've just found out that I'm pregnant again for the fifth time (no children - m/c 7.5 8.5 4.5 4.5). I was happy as had sore swollen boobs and felt sick in the morning, but today I have woken up with no sickness and my boobs aren't as sore. I'm getting myself worried that it's all over (never had sickness before so thought it was a good sign). How have you all coped? Xx

mrsrvc · 01/12/2009 09:17

Welcome to all newcomers and congratulations on your new pregnancies. I hope your stay here is long and uneventful.
Memory Lapse, Its not surprised you are anxious. You have been through a lot, but hopefully we can all help each other through these stressful times.
Jackie, I m sorry to hear about the loss of your little girl. Chat away, we all totally understand.
Ozbride, try not to panic. My symptoms came and went a bit at the beginning which had me a nervous wreck, but so far ( 15+5) all is well. Can you get an early scan at your epu?
Lunatic. How sweet of your dad, I hope you manage to get him to wait outside while they do the internal scan though. That would be a nightmare!
Woolly hope you are doing ok.

Feeling brighter again today. I am off to meet a lady who I was introduced to through my local sands group for coffee. She lost her daughter shortly after birth in january and is 12w pregnant. I don't know how I would do this without speaking to other people going through the same thing ( for those of you who don't know, I lost my son a week after birth due to a birth accident, in may this year). Actually looking froward to seeing the MW on thursday as well. It seems like I am always chasing little goals at the moment and thankfully it seems to be making the time go quite quickly.
Love to all.

Julezboo · 01/12/2009 13:04

Morning all

Welcome to the newbies!

Memorylapse - i was on your other thread. How are you feeling today?

Any news from Onebaby yet?

I have been to physio today for a slipped disk. I am very achy now!

I am 5+5 I think and starting to show already! Off to get some maternity jeans tomorrow as the bobble isn't doing the trick.

2 more sleeps till my next scan and the nerves are building up.

Boobs are agony - I actually took paracetamol this morning

woollyjo · 01/12/2009 15:13

Memorylapse - how have you gotten on today?

hello everyone..I went along to the day assesment unit today and heard baby's heartbeat..no scan or anything as Im under 20 weeks...came home feeling a bit more reassured, then promptly stalled my car waiting in traffic..so filled with worry again..had my brakes on and forgot I was in gear and the car lurched forward..phoned dh up in tears...he said Im just being paranoid now but my understanding is that sudden jolts can cause placental abruption...oh dear..more things for me to worry about

memorylapse · 01/12/2009 18:59

of course I never stall when not pregnant..im usually a good driver..but I can feel my brain deteriorating

Hey all,

I'm panicking tonight. I don't know whether its scan nerves kicking in. I think I'm 5+5 but I am cramping a lot. It's bearable, like AF pains...

memorylapse · 01/12/2009 19:53

thanks lunaticfringe...I lost my first baby 20 years at 26 weeks due an abruption..so its always a real fear of mine..all in all Ive had 3 late losses..sadly in those days a 26 weeker was classified as a miscarriage..not a still birth. I got pregnant almost straight away with dd1 and was a bit wobbly at 26 weeks when my waters leaked but she was fine...I was never given a reason for my abruption and was merely told..your only 17..you shouldnt have been pregnant anyway
