I've just discovered I am 5.5 weeks pregnant.

In the last 2 years I have had 2 mcs and our dd2 was stillborn at term.

So I don't feel like I fit into the antenatal threads, and don't want to frighten anyone with my experiences.

Anyone else out there who needs a gentle thread?

Onebaby - I'm so glad that you and DH are managing to work through this, it must have had been gutting when you found out.

not pregnant again, but at least I can stop fretting about all the medications i ahve been taking.

ozbride · 11/12/2009 18:43

Hello, I posted on knicker checkers aswell but I'm not sure what thread is used the most so here goes!

I'm pregnant for the 5th time (none successful) at 5 weeks 5 days. I just can't ever believe that I will have a baby. I had high hopes for this pregnancy at the start as although I wasn't feeling sick I was off my food and could only eat very plain things. The last three days I have been able to eat anything!

Went for a scan at 5 weeks and 1 day and all they saw was a sac, the doc said it would be too early to see anything else but I'm not convinced. I now have a scan booked on 21st December and I'm so scared that my baby has stopped growing.

Sorry for the self indulgent first post, I've been lurking gor a while xxx

woollyjo · 11/12/2009 19:18

Hi All,

Sorry to her your news Willitbe take care.

Hi Ozbride welcome to the nervous wreck thread. The others on here will put me right if I'm wrong but I am pretty certain that they can't see a heartbeat until 6 weeks. I had a scan at 7 weeks and baby was only 9mm long so at 5 weeks baby is really tiny.

Hope you are all ok, its been quiet on here, hope that means you are all getting along fine (that or xmas and a nervous pregnancy has you rocking in a corner already).

Take Care xx

Hi Ozzbride!

Welcome to the corner of nervous pregnant ladies! I had a scan at 5 weeks and alls they could see was the sac. I thn had one at 6 weeks exactly and saw the heartbeat. I am pregnant for the 10th time (7 mc's 2 boys) so I can understand how nervous you are.

Woolyjo - it has been qiet here of late! My excuse though is that I have a viral throat infection, all day morning sickness (i get a few hours break just after 1pm but it kicks in again at 4pm!

Have had a bit of a horrific day today, was involved in a car accident, not directly, we never hit anyone thanks to my quick thinking! ten to nine this morning we had drop DH off at work, driving behind some idiot who kept swerving all over the place, thank god i backed right off he almost his 3 cars and then his the 4th head on, the other driver got out and kicked ten tonnes of crap out of the drunk/drugged up driver - was pretty horrific by this point I was right behind them, had my two in the car and didnt want to get out and put myself in danger so i stayed put, rung 999 then had to wait round for hours to give statements, get checked over etc... mild shock Ive not long stopped shaking!

Drunk driver was taken away in a police car - his passenger (lady in her 60's) was pretty hysterical and was taken in the ambulance along with the other driver who had a broken wrist, 20 yards down the road he would have hit school drop off time so lucky in a way he hit a car and no one was seriously hurt.

I thought it was an old man tbh once i saw th old lady get out but once i seen it was a 23/24 young lad i wanted to kick him myself!

Still its shook me up and now I am nervous and shakey driving! But i got right back in the car and did it straight away

Wow i rambled! Sorry! Pregnancy seems to be going ok though!

Hi all - yeah, I'm gently rocking in a corner but I'm ok!
Willit I really hope the new year brings good things.
Ozbride - hang in there - I had an internal scan at 6+5 & saw heartbeat - think 5 wks is really early to see anything so stay positive. Have you had any tests to try to establish why you've had recurrent mc's? I had 3 previously & got diagnosed with a blood clotting disorder after the last one (Factor V Leiden) & am on loads of medication for this pg & so far it seems to be doing the trick (am 13 wks today). I haven't had a successful pg yet either but I hope this is the year for us
Good luck.
Julez - Just a bit of a traumatic day then?! Take it easy.
Woolly Hope you're ok too.
Have a good weekend ladies (ooh the X Factor result now - being pregnant is so rock n roll on a Saturday night!) xx

winjy · 12/12/2009 21:35

hello everyone!!

hope ur ok julez ozbride 5 weeks is really early, they dont usually scan until 6 weeks and even then they usually ask u to come back coz they cant see anything...so dont worry about that

willit lets hope the festivities aid the baby making

well iv finally been sent an appointment for my so called 'urgent' scan although in my opinion going to docs at 4 weeks, being referred straight away then having an appointment where il be nearly 9 weeks is not very urgent but still!! its on the 22nd december so at least its before xmas...although il have a pretty shit xmas if its bad news...but iv got a good feeling this time...is it normal to go off food? iv baely eaten this week...only had 2 pieces of toast all day the past two days, the thought of food just turns me sick, havent been sick just got no appetite and i dont even feel hungry...only eating the toast coz i know bean needs to grow!! is this normal?
my boobs are unbelievably painful, i feel like im carrying a ten tonne weight on my chest! iv put on weight already too, seem to be feeling really full in my womb, an di cant breathe in, my belly seems to be going hard, is this normal for 7+2 weeks? its my first so any advice welcome!!

hope ur all well (and ur beans) and that ur looking forward to xmas...lots and lots of love xxx

Julezboo · 12/12/2009 22:02

Onebaby I too have factor V leiden. What medication are you on just out of curiousity? I'm on 75mg of Aspirin and Fragmin injections. To give you hope I had them for the first time with DS2 and he's now a very energetic two year old!

I'm ok today - car accident has really affected me because I have a reall big irrational fear of car accidents. It's really knocked me for six! Plus I have a throat infection and woke up with earache this morning so feeling a bit sorry for myself.

All seems good on the baby front though, big sore boobs, sickness all freakin day! Another boy I think but everyone single one of my family and friends are convincing themselves I am having a girl this time!

I cant believe I am 7+2 already! I am going to try and get another scan in over xmas going to ring the EPU on Monday see what they say. Surely stressing about it can't be good plus i'd like to be checked over after Friday, we did jolt a bit cos I had to slam on.

Winjy - Totally normal for your belly to go hard, in fact I just said to DH I think I can feel the pregnancy popping up out of my cervix! lie a round ball It put a smile on my face.

Re: food - alot of people have told me to eat what I can stomach in the first few months, even my GP because I was concerned as I cant really eat much. DH took me for a harvester on Friday to cheer me up and I had gammon only for me to throw it up when I got home! What a waste of £8!

I had curry tonight - was nice but sick afterwards LOL

I may stick to toast from now on!

Night all xx Hope your all ok?X

winjy · 12/12/2009 22:14

julez glad ur ok after the accident...and sorry to hear ur under the weather

im not actually sick...iv nearly been sick once but never thrown up im just off my food, i cant eat...its really strange, i dont fancy anything to eat then when i force myself it just doesnt taste of anything and i cant stomach it...is that normal?
im actually getting excited coz my belly has gone hard, makes it a bit more real, counting down the days til my scan!! just read on a website that at 7 weeks uterus is the size of a grapefruit so no wonder i feel full up down there!! my nipples have changed too they've gone really big!! oh god...im so excited by my symptoms but almost too scared to be excited if that makes sense...i too cant believe im 7+2...seems only yesterday i found out at 4 weeks!! our dates are exactly the same!!
id stick to the toast if i was u...its softer on the stomach, and prob not as horrendous coming back up as curry!! gross!!

lots of love xxx

OneBabyPlease · 12/12/2009 22:38

Hi Julez - thanks for the reassurance
I am on 75mg aspirin a day, 400mg progesterone twice a day (finishing those this week though, on advice of consultant)& 40mg Clexane injections every day until a week before the birth. So nice to have a Factor V buddy! I don't really know much about it - I just know I'm heterozygous. Whatever that means!
Winjy - your symptoms sound fairly normal to me (not that I'm an expert!!), sounds much like I felt in those weeks, I wasn't actually sick much but felt queasy pretty much constantly. Try to relax!

Julezboo · 13/12/2009 08:43

Onebaby Hetrozygeus (sp) is what I am. There are two types. Hetrozygeus means you only got one gene from your parents and the other one means you got two, one of each parent. Or something! Glad to meet someone else too! They told me it's very common but I have only spoken to one other person on here with it until now!

Winjy - I read that about the grapefruit too LOL!

I am feeling slightly better today although a little ashamed my house is a tip! DH has been working all the hours known to man to get his xmas bonus and I have been too ill to do anything about the house but we are going to get stuck in today. Scared to overdo it though although most of it is washing if Im honest which isnt to energetic!

Hope you are all ok x

OneBabyPlease · 13/12/2009 15:15

Yeah, Julez you're right - that's what I thought it was. Do you know which parent you got it from? I don't - wasn't sure if they needed to be tested as I know my Dad's auntie & cousin had DVTs at a young age. My sister has got 2 kids & didn't have any problems at all. I inject in my tummy everyday but think I need to change to my legs as my tummy gets bigger? Can you remember what you did with DS2? Not looking forward to having terribly bruised legs as well! Some of the Drs & nurses have visible flinched when they've seen the state of my tummy in the last few weeks! You'd think they'd be used to it! !

Sorry for boring the rest of you with our bloodclotting woes!

Am telling work I'm pg tomorrow (13+2). My job involves meeting members of the public & working on my own including night shifts etc so I'll be on restricted duties from now on which'll be quite nice hopefully with no night duties! Should be able to chill out a little bit from now on.

Another week nearly over ladies - hope it's been uneventful for everyone xxx

Julezboo · 13/12/2009 16:48

onebaby I moved to my thighs. Avoid the arms that bloody hurts but then I have really skinny stick arms so that could be why. I get quite flabby on the back of my hips as well so I sometimes do them there.

DH attempted to do one of mine with DS2. I almost smacked him LOL I think it's because if I did it myself I knew the sting was coming.

WRT tot he bruised belly lol Everytime I went into hospital with DS2 (which was ALOT!) My waters started leaking at 30 weeks lol. DH was always sent away to "get me something" so they could in a round about way ask me if everything was ok at home! I got sick of explaining in the end.

Think I moved from my belly to my thighs around 24 weeks so you still have some time yet.

woollyjo · 13/12/2009 19:06

Hi All,

Great to see you are all wobbling along (emotionally if not physically yet).

Another week ticked off.

I know about 5 ladies due about the same time as me this time round where as thankfully with Niamh I didn't know anyone. That would have been awful especially if the had been good friends as I would have struggled to see them, certainly at first. Just hoping I won't have a reason to be avoiding them come the end of May.

Had quite a reflective few days (as much as it is possible) as we have just learned that the headstone for Naimh's shared grave will go up before xmas. Part of me thinks that I don't really want to deal with this now (got DD & DH's birthdays directly before xmas etc.) but it is the last physical thing that needs to happen.

OP posts:
OneBabyPlease · 13/12/2009 21:37

Woolly a lot for you to deal with at the moment - so difficult with Xmas coming as well as dealing with the headstone - go easy on yourself & take good care xx

Julezboo · 14/12/2009 09:38

woolly So you have so much to deal with at the moment, take care of yourself x

Julezboo · 14/12/2009 09:40

So = Sorry! I'm such an idiot!

mrsrvc · 14/12/2009 17:17

Hello ladies.
Things are quiet here. Sh*tting myself Looking forward to my private gender/ anomaly scan next monday. I just want to know that things are ok with splodge before christmas.
woolly sorry to hear you have so much on your plate at the moment. I understand the concern about other people due at the same time. With Bertie I had 5 other friends/ family due within a few weeks including my SIL which is tough. So far I don't know anyone who will be that close this time which is good because it makes this pregnancy feel different.
If anyone knows how to fast forward time till after all the christmas hall is over I would be VERY grateful.
Speak soon.
rx

mrsrvc · 14/12/2009 17:18

Not sure why my strike though didnt work. wanted sh*tting self
does that work?

mrsrvc · 14/12/2009 17:19

I give up. you all know what I mean!

Hi All,

Thanks for your kind words I'm just a bit (more) weepy and soo tierd. I didn't realise that grieving was so exhausting especially on top of a pregnancy and with a dd who thinks 5am is a great time to start the day. All day at work folk have been telling me how tierd I look (thanks guys) think I'll hide in the woods tomorrow!

NB that's not as wierd as it sounds - I work in forestry.

Deep breath and keep on going girls xx

OP posts:
Julezboo · 15/12/2009 10:21

Hey girls

woolly hope you are doing ok?

I have woke up this morning and found brown blood. Trying not to panic because I did bleed with DS2 ALOT. I have spoke to EPU and I have a scan in the morning. I feel sick and can't stop crying. Spending the day on the sofa resting.

Have been since and there was hardly anything there

OneBabyPlease · 15/12/2009 19:02

Julez - hope you're ok, brown blood is much better than red I believe. Keep your chin up - you might have just have the same experience this time around as with DS2. Hope tomorrow goes well & is reassuring. Take care xxx

Woolly - hope you're taking your own advice & taking lots of deep breaths. Also really hope you get a decent nights sleep very soon!

Lunatic - wish things would hurry along for you naturally, such an awful time for you. Also I think if taking Daisy's ashes with you is gonna help at Xmas then just do it however mad you think it is - I think all of you who are grieving for a child just need to do whatever it takes for you to get through such a very difficult time - you're all fighters and very brave as far as I'm concerned.

Mrs - hope the scan goes well next week & you're reassured in time for Xmas! Good luck.

Hope everyone else is good too xx
