totally..Im sorry youve had such worrying news...it may well resolve but Im sure they will monitior you very closely..keeping my fingers crossed for you.

hoops..bummer about your back..Ive found it seems so much easier to pull things when you are pregnant.

Im having a crap day again..baby has moved since this morning so panic panic..Ive been stressed and hyperventilating this week so convinced baby is oxygen starved....I wish someone could remove the part of my brain that deals with worry

hoops997 · 03/12/2009 22:02

memory how are you feeling now? I know you went through a few scary days, has everything settled down a bit now? Hope you are well chick xx

memorylapse · 03/12/2009 22:11

hoops..yep its been a stressful week and they listened into baby every day between monday and wednesday and scanned me..so Im convinced that if baby isnt oxygen starved from my hyperventilation..its brains are probably fried from all the sonic waves...

please god let me stop worrying...I need baby to give me a hefty reassuring kick..

Jacanne · 04/12/2009 14:36

I hope everything turns out okay Totally - big hugs for all the worry - I will keep everything crossed that it all turns out okay.

Sorry for all you worry Memory - hope baby starts giving you big kicks at least twice a day.

I'm glad that mini-hoops was just hiding - hope your back improves Hoops and that the iron tablets do the trick.

We're jogging along okay at the moment - next big scary thing is the consultants appointment in 2 weeks and the 20 week scan.

amyboo · 08/12/2009 11:28

Really sorry to hear your news totally. Keeping everything crossed for you.

Sounds like everyone's been having panicking moments recently - I guess it's only natural given what we've all been through. Hope everyone's doing OK now though and not worrying too much.

Baby amyboo seems to move about quite a lot which thankfully stops me from worrying. Not all is great in our lives, however, as I just found out that my Dad is likely to have cancer. We're just waiting for test results to confirm the type and stage. So, I'm keeping everything crossed for him and praying that it all works out OK. It keeps my mind off worrying about the baby at least....

hoops997 · 11/12/2009 14:58

amy how is your dad getting on?

How is everyone else doing?

amyboo · 11/12/2009 15:24

We're still waiting for Dad's histology results to come back. Since they've only found the suspected cancer in one place and only by looking with a camera (it didn't show up on any blood tests or scans), they want to be sure they pinpoint its exact type/stage etc. He's booked in to start treatment on Friday, so fingers crossed it all goes OK.

Apart from that I'm fine. Baby is being quite active and wiggling around a lot, which is nice and reassuring. How about you hoops?

hoops997 · 11/12/2009 15:29

yep same here, mini-hoops is wriggling and kicking me in the bladder!! he has a definate routine going and wakes up at night, that's went the big kicks happen, last night I was able to feel head/bum through my belly!!!

Hope your dad is ok...xx

memorylapse · 13/12/2009 15:14

sorry to hear about your dad amyboo..it seems ironic that stressful things like this happen before christmas.

Im 20 weeks on Tuesday..all being well.
I have a huge bump..baby seems to be a night owl and is generally very quiet during the day although Ive noticed it likes to bunch itself over to my left..so Im aware of it..for want of a better word..come about 8pm..it starts giving me some hefty prods and kicks..usually in the direction of my bladder..got my 21 week scan a week on weds and we have a private scan booked this friday

hoops997 · 13/12/2009 16:41

yeah memory, everything sounds fab, mini-hoops is similar to mini-memory only mine likes to curl up on my right, and it causes me lots of stretching pains with the pressure of him....good luck for wednesday, are you going to find out the sex?

memorylapse · 13/12/2009 16:58

hoops..its funny how they seem to have a fave side! DS2 always favoured the left so I had more stretch marks that side

we are hoping to find out the sex at our private scan on friday..Im not at all bothered as I have 2 boys and 2 girls..but it would be nice to know.

dont feel ready to buy anything for baby yet..but idley checked out the mamas and papas store at cheshire oaks, DM had to be dragged reluctantly away from rows of cute baby clothes

hoops997 · 13/12/2009 17:10

I have bought a couple of things, a blanket and a few teddies, also have on order my pram which is the Mama's and papa's Ultima 8 in 1 thing in the polka.......ordered at 12 week point because it was really expensive, anyway it's nearly paid for now but it's not getting delivered until at least March, apparently it's bad luck to have a pram in the house before baby comes home anyone else heard of this old wives tale?

preggarschick · 13/12/2009 18:37

Hi There,

I wondered if it would be ok for meto join this thread ( mif it's the right one). Have been looking to join one for a while a stumbled across your one!

i'm 22wks due 15th April, this is my 1st pregnancy.

xx

memorylapse · 13/12/2009 19:15

welcome preggerschick

hoops..it is supposed to be bad luck to have the pram in the house..but saying that I bought dd2's pram at 26 weeks and it sat in its box in our bedroom

TotallyAndUtterlyPaninied · 14/12/2009 10:54

Hi all,

Got my next scan on xmas eve across the country so lets hope they don't keep me in. Don't want to miss DS's xmas.

DS has been so poorly for 3 days he can't keep down even water. I have a headcold etc so feel fairly naff, run down and worried about bump.

Sorry everyone is having such a naff time at the mo- sounds like there's lots of stresses going on. Hope things have improved over the past few days!

Can't believe I'm 30 weeks now. 10 weeks to go if they leave her in there that long which I suspect they won't. I think I'll be heading for section i about 7 weeks and I've bought next to nothing for baby and can't afford to.

hi Preggerschic, of course you can join. Do you know what you're having? A giraffe/tortoise/monkey I'm having a girl.

memorylapse · 14/12/2009 11:09

Totally..are you going in for regular CTG'S?

you must be worried sick..but sometimes they pick things up that your ordinarily wouldnt know about and that resolve..when I was pregnant with dd1..I had a routine scan at 36 weeks and they diagnosed IUGR..was immediately admitted and put on bed rest..her HR was all over the place on CTG'S and they threatened to induce me..then they scanned me at 38 weeks and said..oh her growth is fine..CTG was fine..discharged..DD was born at 41 weeks weighing 8lb 9

Try and put your feet up as much as possible, easier said than done in the run up to christmas I know..but even if its just 5 mins..
having ill small people probably not helping either.

we are starting to pack the house up..ready to move straight after new year.and panicking as to how we are going to cook christmas dinner for 8 in our crappy single oven

preggarschick · 14/12/2009 11:24

Thanks for lettin me join!

They think its a girl! but they said keep the receipts just in case!
TBH they(sonographer) couldn't get me out quick enough and i was a bit annoyed as was my mum.

It just hit me this morning that in just over 3 months am gonna hav a baby! Aaarrgghh.

hoops997 · 14/12/2009 19:23

welcome to the thread preggerschick we are a crazy lot on here

I know what you mean about you're going to have a real live baby aaarrrggghhh, it's going to be a real shock to the system......but I'm so looking forward to it

Meita · 16/12/2009 15:52

Hi ladies,

some of you might remember me from "Totally's TTC post MC" thread. Well I got a big scary positive last week and somehow now time is moving so, so, sooooooo slowly. No way am I hopping on any of the huge buses, so I was wondering if I might join you here instead? I know that most here are way further along - I'm just 5+1 today so it is still all new.

Well so we told family already. On the one hand because we would want them to know if something went wrong again, and on the other hand because we are going to be staying 5 days with DP's family and then 5 days with my family over Christmas. DP's mum makes salad sauces with raw eggs and my parents would expect me to eat tons of Gruyère (made of unpasteurised milk), so we were going to have to bring it up anyway.
Now DP's sister called me up today to say she thinks I really shouldn't fly... (our families both live in Switzerland and we are flying over to be with them). She said she looked it up and especially in early pregnancy it's supposed to not be safe. Also, last time I MCed just after flying. But I personally believe that was just coincidence; and we did do some research about flying in early pregnancy before we booked the flights; and it appears there is no clear indication against flying, so we decided to risk it. I suppose she meant well, but I did not really appreciate her saying "well I don't mean to make you feel guilty" - what else did she mean then? It hadn't occured to me to feel "guilty" before, but now I'm all imagining that something will go wrong after we arrive there and I WILL feel guilty, after all I had been warned...
Also, DPs mum's reaction, on telling her I'm pg, was: "Oh, but, it's still way to early to tell if it will stick, isn't it?" And then she called today about something else, and the first thing she says is "So, are you still pregnant?" As if it were all so inconsequential, that if I'd MCed again, we wouldn't have bothered to tell anyone?
So, now I'm a bit resigned to the fact that our stay with them probably won't be as relaxed as I'd been hoping for.

Sorry for writing such a huge post - just had to get this off my chest.
It would be great if I could join you; I'm also hoping a few others from Totally's TTC thread will "graduate" soon and join as well!

TotallyAndUtterlyPaninied · 16/12/2009 22:05

Yay Meita, you're here Congratulations!

Don't worry about flying, it's safe in early pregnancy. I flew to my wedding whilst pregnant with this one (7 weeks there and 9 weeks back). All was fine. And don't feel guilty for goodness sake!! Of all things to say. It's not your fault.

Memory- they've stopped my CTGs as my hospital just flap when they hear the irregular heartbeat and keep ringing the other hospital, so I'm just to go for scans.

Went to my midwife appointment today and baby is already 4lb. Love that's she's a little chunk heading for 10lb!

Midwife says she thinks they'll do a cesarean and a little early at that, so we might be on to the post natal grad thread soon! Quite worried about things tonight. Baby seems fine and is kicking away but I'm starting to wonder what's going to happen after the birth? a pacemaker? Just want her home safe.

Did anyone watch Amanda Holden midwife thing? I cried my eyes out and DH freaked out when that baby stopped breathing. I was so frightened even though I knew it'd pull through else they wouldn't show it on tv. But it was horrible and I wish I hadn't watched it.

Hope everyone is doing well.

Lots of love to you all xx

hoops997 · 16/12/2009 22:27

totally yeah I watched the Amanda Holden thing and managed to freak myself out and started wondering what the hell I have got myself in for

I'm doing fine and so is mini-hoops, he is moving around all the time now, feels like he is doing somersaults in my belly!!

Crikey 4 lbs, she is going to be a big un!!!

It seems to have gone a bit quiet on this thread lately, hope everyone is ok......

amyboo · 17/12/2009 08:07

Hi to preggarschick and meita. Welcome to our thread... If you're not having any other potential mc signs meita I wouldn't worry about flying. I got signed off flying for a work trip at 9 weeks with this pregnancy, but that was only because I'd had some unexplained bleeding. In ordinary circumstances, I don't think there's anything to worry about.

Glad to hear you lo is a good size totally. Hope you're managing not to worry too much about the heartbeat. Sometimes I wonder how many of these things would have gone unnoticed and been fine in the past before they did all these extra tests they do today...

Jacanne · 18/12/2009 10:05

Hi everyone - hope you're okay Totally and glad that you're baby is growing well.

20 week scan this afternoon so wish me luck everyone - may have to take kiddies with me as babysitters might not be able to get here because of the snow.

amyboo · 18/12/2009 15:36

Hope the scan went well jacanne. Did you find out the sex?

Jacanne · 18/12/2009 17:40

Scan went well - apparently there was nothing there to concern her which is excellent news, particularly as I found out this week that my NT result was 1 in 180 so only just out of the high risk range - I know that doesn't meant all is well but they would have picked up any soft markers wouldn't they?

It was great seeing the baby again - it looks like a proper one now . No news on the sex though - apparently she has never seen a baby with legs held so tightly together. Am ashamed to admit that DH and I have just booked a private scan after Christmas because we really want to know (we don't mind either way but we do want to know).
