Kirby
I got married 3 and a half months after having my ds. It was a very hectic time but a very special time too - many congratulations and enjoy your pregnancy.

kirby · 28/04/2003 12:11

I would just take things a step at a time. Most important thing is to take care of yourself and to enjoy your pregnancy and also to enjoy the wedding preparations. Be organised and get as much of the wedding stuff done as you can before the babe arrives as the first few months after giving birth tend to go by in a haze!

kirby · 28/04/2003 12:18

yeah thats good advice talk to ya soon and thanx again xx

Have posted a bit on the Nov/Dec thread, but have just returned from seeing GP, and she has given me Dec 29 as edd.....dd was 2 days overdue, so we may actually have a New Year's baby!! Or near enough to it.....

Found out at the weekend that I am due on Jan 3rd! DS was two weeks early so I just hope we don't end up with a Christmas day baby. Congratulations everyone, how are you all feeling? With DS I was sick from even before my period was due for pretty much the whole 9 months! However this time, so far I feel great with only a slight sickness every now and then. Fingers crossed it stays this way!!!!!!

Mum2Toby · 06/05/2003 14:33

Congratulations Willum!!!!

willum · 06/05/2003 14:38

Thank you. I am enjoying basking in the attention. Everyone seems so much happier about it this time, where as last time I got the impression people thought we where making a mistake.

hana · 06/05/2003 17:17

another Congrats Willum!!! My sister was born on Jan 3 ( back in 1973 that is) Yay!! Another mum-to-be with us!! How are you feeling? I'm 7 weeks now ( that sounds so , well, insignificant at the moment....) My edd is Dec 29, so not officially Jan, but you never know
So well done to you and your partner!

hana · 06/05/2003 17:17

Willum, how old is dd?

hana · 06/05/2003 17:18

oops of course I meant ds...

tinyfeet · 07/05/2003 03:08

Congratulations kirby, willum and hana! I am due Dec. 30th, but was 10 days late with DD (who is now 14 months old). I actually hope the baby comes after January 1. For some reason I think I a January birthday is nicer than December. I haven't seen a doctor yet, although based on my calculations I am in week 7. I am sick as a dog - vomiting at work and barely able to function during the day. On top of this, this is an unplanned pregnancy, although I am married and DH is over the moon about it. I hope you all are faring better than I. Hoping to have a better attitude as soon as the nausea wears off.

CAM · 07/05/2003 13:29

Oh Congratulations, Willum, did you sit in Dannie's chair in Brighton then?

Dannie · 07/05/2003 15:28

Willum, great news! You'll have a cast iron excuse to be waited on at Christmas! dd was born in early February and it was very cheering seeing the mornings get lighter and spring arrive.

willum · 08/05/2003 11:36

DS is 16 months (7th Jan!!), so we may even end up with them having the same birthday.

Dannie I now what you mean about January being really cheery and full of the hopes of spring. Also last time DH did all the christmas cooking and if people wanted to see us then they were the ones that had to do all the travel - perfect!! We were supposed to be going to France for Christmas this year to MIL's house, but thats out the window now. Christmas in France doesn't appeal, so new baby is a better choice anyway!

It all a bit unreal at the moment as I don't realy feel pg, boobs are normal, tummy is normal etc. Just feel a strange sense of excitement and am convinced it's a girl, where as I didn't have a clue with DS.

Hope you feel better soon tinyfeet. So far I'm still pretty much ok and hoping it stays that way!

hana · 11/05/2003 15:42

Conratulations Tinyfeet!! I'm due on Dec 29...but also have the feeling that it will be a Jan baby! dd was only 2 days late though..
I have been sleeping most of the day. I am SOOOO tired! It's Mother's Day in Canada ( but I live in the UK) so I've been using that alongside being pregnant as my excuse! Have just crawled out of bed, dd and dh are getting some groceries.......it's too much work to sit up so I may well go back to bed. Mmmmmmm
Some of my clothes are getting a bit tight already and I'm just about 8 weeks. Sigh.
Any other Jan babies out there yet???

hana · 11/05/2003 15:44

and just thought about Dec/jan babies.......just think of all the holiday indulging you can do without feeling guilty about it!!

AbsoluteBeginner · 01/06/2003 19:06

Hello all yes I'm due January but it should be LATE Jan not early - am only 7 weeks gone. Haven't done this before, so it's all v strange - have been trying for 8 months, but don't feel able to celebrate getting pg as it's too early to tell anyone. Am chuffed, but mostly anxious! But not feeling sick yet, so should be grateful for that I guess!

willum · 02/06/2003 17:33

Welcome. It's about time some one else joined Jan, it was begining to feel at bit lonely here and I was thinking of emergrating to Dec!! Glad that you are feeling ok so far.

tinyfeet · 02/06/2003 18:11

AbsoluteBeginner - welcome. Maybe you will be lucky and not get sick at all. It is absolutely the most miserable experience. I am starting to feel a bit better, but am still nauseous and constantly preoccupied by what I can eat or drink to prevent vomiting. . . . Yuck. Hopefully just 2 more weeks to go. My first doctor's appointment is next week, so I may know a bit better then if we have a December or January baby. In any case, I'm participating in both threads.

loobie732 · 02/06/2003 18:36

Thanks Willum for inviting me to this thread. I am only 5 weeks pregnant and no sickness as yet but i have continous stomach cramps. I feel better when i go to the toilet (wee). I seem to be in and out of the toilet every 10 minutes.
I have my first mid-wifes appointment this Thursday and i cant wait. I know how it feels AbsoluteBeginner I have been trying for my first for 7 months now, but finally cracked it. Funny thing is though that i fell ill while trying so i gave up trying and hey presto.

Presto · 03/06/2003 19:24

Hello, I am due on Jan 13 - 3rd time and I am feeling awful, sick most of the time, incredibly grumpy nothing like the other two pregnancies. Fortunately my 2 DS's are wonderful (aged 3 & 4). Having a scan on Friday for twins - there are twins on both sides.

marsup · 04/06/2003 16:34

Hello to all - I have just joined mumsnet, after weeks of reading. I'm in week 10 and a bit worried about size/weight. I haven't put on weight at all. Is this because it is a first baby? (not that I'm complaining, just wonder whether I'm doing something wrong). Also I noticed a lot of mumsnetters mention an 'early scan' in week 7, but I was told I wouldn't have a scan until week 19-22. Is the early scan only for women over 35?
