When I farted before it bubbled up into my vagina, being 19 weeks pregnant I worry is this like being blown into wilst having oral sex. I know it is dangerous but it this different as it wasn't forced in? Even though it was rather alot of wind!

I don't usually, but you have just made me LOL.
Cheers.

DSM · 29/03/2009 20:12

Why are you being blown into during oral sex anyway?

Why would it be dangerous?

What has it got to do with the fact you are pregnant?

How can a fart 'bubble up'? Its air.

conniedescending · 29/03/2009 20:12

i'm sure itll be fine

Goober · 29/03/2009 20:12

HOw can it be embarrassing? You are anonymously on a forum

Anyway, who the hell blows into someone during oral sex?

And even if you did, I can't see how it could be dangerous...

And a fart is air, its not a bubble, so it can't possibly have 'entered your vagina'.

WifeofGeek · 29/03/2009 20:18

well unfortunately for me it did.

Shut up everyone. What a bunch of bitches

WifeofGeek - I know what you mean, it happens to me ocassionally. Not all my life but last few years, since pregnancies. I put it down to a pelvic floor thing. And just to reassure you it's been happening to me for years now, and I'm absolutely fine

(I do find I can squeeze it back out my vagina though).

serenity · 29/03/2009 20:20

I've actually read it's possibly dangerous to have air blown into the vagina after childbirth (or up to 6 weeks after) because of the slight chance of an air embolism. can't remember where I read it, made me LOL at the time, but it seemed quite serious (euw at anyone going down on you whilst you're bleeding though)

WifeofGeek · 29/03/2009 20:21

Thanks for message ESL, glad I'm not the only one.

conniedescending · 29/03/2009 20:21

sorry for laughing wifeofgeek

do you mean you farted and the air went through your vulva? I doubt much went up your vagina but if it did then I'm sure thats ok. Besides which fanny farts occur when air is drawn into your vagina and Im sure that's safe - even when pg!

Tee2072 · 29/03/2009 20:37

Blowing into the vagina while pregnant can be dangerous.

Y'all should do some research before you make fun of someone Like here.

I wouldn't worry about it, wifeofgeek as I doubt there is enough pressure behind it for it to be dangerous. If you're really worried, call your MW, trust me, she's heard much more embarrassing things than that!

hobbgoblin · 29/03/2009 20:39

Does that mean that if you sit down really quick after delivery, it could be dangerous?

I think the reassuring point here should be all in the balance of probabilities.

HecatesTwopenceworth · 29/03/2009 20:42

Farts can indeed travel forward, esp if you are sitting in a certain position or are, ahem, rather rotund. So stop all the faces you rotten lot! It feels rather odd and a bit uncomfortable when it happens! Not sure it's dangerous though, but I'm no expert.

DSM · 29/03/2009 21:01

Farts are air! They can't go back inside you as if they are some kind of 'bubble'. It is air.
