TMI but farts entering vagina

When I farted before it bubbled up into my vagina, being 19 weeks pregnant I worry is this like being blown into wilst having oral sex. I know it is dangerous but it this different as it wasn't forced in? Even though it was rather alot of wind!

yes, but the current zooms along at quite a speed and if the position is right, it carries on up! It happens to me, I know!!!

Sometimes it goes right from back to front and I get a round of applause.

I hope you appreciate this, OP, the lengths I am going to to support you!

WifeofGeek · 29/03/2009 21:16

thanks guys.

I am feeling a bit stupid now though.

Not sure why people are being so horrid!

I've experienced this too. I'm sure you'll be fine though and you would probably know by now if you weren't (depending on when the fart occurred, obviously).

LackaDAISYcal · 29/03/2009 21:20

peeks head above parapet and confesses this happens to me when sitting since having an episiotomy with DS2....I assume because there is a nice shiny scar for the farts to whizz along

It has been better though since I had my gallbladder removed and I'm no longer emitting such wet and noxious farts as I was.

And I'm sure I read somewhere whenn I was but a youth that being blown into during oral sex was akin to injecting air into your veins and could cause an embolism. Not sure if it's an urban myth though.

NotanOtter · 29/03/2009 21:24

do you mean ;

you trump - then the trump slides along your 'line' to the front of the line?

EachPeachPearMum · 29/03/2009 21:28

Don't feel stupid! It is true about the air after childbirth- there is the potential for air to enter the placental wound, and therefore the bloodstream, and kill you. I had DS 8 weeks ago, and was warned off 'something' by my m/w... but I can't remember what it was exactly because my brain is baby mush.
I do know that there are a number of women who die from sex post-partum, through precisely this mechanism.

DSM be thankful you've never had this- it is pretty uncomfortable, even without the risk attached.

tristaleejac · 29/03/2009 21:52

Isn't it always ignorant, uninformed people who are quick to take the piss out of others?
Rather than look up facts and admit to being wrong for once, they'll make fun of people and make them feel stupid.

DSM · 29/03/2009 22:10

tristal - was that aimed at me

I don't see what makes you think I am ignorant and uninformed, I was merely stating a fact that a fart is air.

Are you claiming that this is not the case?

LackaDAISYcal · 29/03/2009 22:12

....and rattles about a bit NaO....yes

NotanOtter · 29/03/2009 22:15

tickles its way up!

soon2befamilyof4 · 29/03/2009 22:19

Sorry you are getting stick OP. Yes it is dangerous to blow during oral sex in pregnancy but I am sure you will be fine. Hpoe you are ok - ignore all the childish responses you have got at the start of this thread.

LackaDAISYcal · 29/03/2009 22:19

not exactly tickly and quite disconcerting when in company but that's the idea!!

hobbgoblin · 29/03/2009 22:22

I want to know why blowing during cunnilingus (not fellatio I take it ) is dangerous? How?

I had sex 2 days after having DS2 an dwouldn't have if I'd known about the embolism risk. Very scary, and I'm being totally serious.

suwoo · 29/03/2009 22:24

It just scoots along and ripples about in your flaps...............IME

tristaleejac · 29/03/2009 22:31

From wikipedia
"Air which is forced into the vagina, especially by blowing in order to cause vaginal flatulence during cunnilingus, can cause an air embolism. This is a potentially life-threatening condition for a woman and also for her child if she is pregnant at the time."

LackaDAISYcal · 29/03/2009 22:34

I'm sooo glad this isn't just me.

thanks for strating the thread wifeofgeek, but sorry for your issues.

I've also noticed that doing lots of pelvic floor exercises, especially in the first few weeks after D2 was born, resulted in lots of fanny farts

Having had two previous CS deliveries, this is all a bit new and to me!!

Is one talking the same risk then in having sex at all, given the chance of fanny farts as someone put it?

angrypixie · 29/03/2009 22:39

I am rendered speechless by the thought of having sex 2 days after having a baby!!!!

LackaDAISYcal · 29/03/2009 22:40

two days?????

how? why? wasn't it all a bit..erm..messy? and cavernous?

tristaleejac · 29/03/2009 22:42

hobbgoblin there is a slight risk, but it is very rare

hobbgoblin · 29/03/2009 22:46

It probably was cavernous (good word!). I was desperate though. I always desperately want to have sex after birth. couldn't tell you why.

I waited the 6 weeks with DD as I had stitches, but the following two births were much gentler and it was a week or so with DS1 and 2 days with DS2. I'm sure it's mostly psychological really, embolisms aside. If you want to do it then it doesn't hurt.

No mess, didn't bleed much.

But I must know whether any air up fanjo in pregnancy is a serious concern???!

EachPeachPearMum · 29/03/2009 23:06

I would have thought in pg it wasn't such an issue- as the placenta is in place.

Am I alone in finding the wiki entry quoted above disturbing... who would want to cause vaginal flatulence during oral sex?

NotanOtter · 29/03/2009 23:08

i thought that wiki thing wholly odd eachpeach
