Ooooo jw didn't know that about the spit 'n dribbles. I've only got to look at Verity's nappy to see what she's had for dinner Banana leaves weird little black bits....thought she had worms

My BOOBIES are in turmoil, as today Verity wasn't interested in milk - so it was explosive and mucho relief gained from the breast pump! Still, it's all gone into the ice cube tray and then popped out into a bag marked 'boob milk'...!!

Sounds like a bit of baby rice in on the cards for Princess K then as a Xmas treat! Unless you're gonna be a hard-core baby-led weaner and give the wee lass a turky drumstick to gnaw on

Double COrrie and mince pies.......bring it on

mrsboogie · 15/12/2008 19:58

I've had three mince pies today

OP posts:
johnworf · 15/12/2008 20:01

Think I'll stick with the baby rice. No baby led weaning for us methinks.

Just going through the xmas Radio times with a pen circling what I'll be watching...K is sat in her bouncy chair in a trance looking at the evil xmas fairy on the tree..... We're a couple of racy girlies aren't we?

Had a look at Photobox myself and ordered DH a mug with K's face on it. Cute!

Gah, I want to eat mince pies, nay, I need to but I have serious indigestion. Drat! Foiled again.

JJ the banana bum sounds nice. What a shame we don't have smell o vision. What are you going to do about the old bursting boobs? If you express then surely you're keeping up your supply?

Off to watch Eastenders where the neonatal unit is something I've never seen before. No staff, no other babies and very quiet. lol. Hmmm.....

johnworf · 15/12/2008 20:01

3??????

mrsboogie · 15/12/2008 20:15

haha the Eastenders storyline is typically rubbish - baby's coming home already from the empty unit in an East London hospital and then it'll be like she was never premature at all. They don't go in much for authenticity.

Tee2072 · 15/12/2008 20:21

Darn I confess...I don't care for mince pies. Or Christmas Pudding.

Donuts on the other hand...

ermintrude13 · 15/12/2008 20:28

Only 3 mince pies, mrsb? You've done well. I, on the other hand, have eaten FOUR donuts today. Two custard, two jam. Delicious. Je ne regrette rien...

Off to bed now with Guardian puzzles from Saturday. I've been so tired anyway and then we watched Wallander last night so were in bed at gone 10.30 - which, in relation to my student self, is the equivalent of clubbing till 5. Yawn. Night night.

johnworf · 15/12/2008 20:28

I'm just getting idea's for my decorating in the New Year.....Fat Pat Butcher's living room is lovely

jeanjeannie · 15/12/2008 20:41

mrsB I feel better about my two mince pies now....although *coughs - I did have lashings of cream with 'em!

Oh I don't watch Eastenders but I see John Thomson (fast show) is in the ROvers dressed as a kid's entertainer

ermintrude bed after 10.30 Party on. I reckon I'll last another hour - then that's me under the duvet.

jw I know - express or burst? I'm a bit stuck. Not sure of the protocol...do I express a bit? Or do I leave it? Mmmmmm. Anyway - I had you down as the sort of woman to appreciate Pat Butcher's unique style

mrsboogie · 15/12/2008 20:43

There's some lovely gear in that living room jw - especially the bar

OP posts:
hedgepig · 15/12/2008 21:23

JJ I would express just enough to relive the discomfort or you may end up with mastitis (and you don't want to go there Ouch). Just bee to my neighbours to bath Ben and they say I can go for a shower in the morning, I am feeling decidedly scummy at the moment.

To add to our heating woes the hot water bottle in Bens bed just burst and soaked the whole thing, luckily before he got in it or he would have got burnt. I did get the hot water bottle when I was a student may years ago, so it must be at least 20 yrs old.

jeanjeannie · 15/12/2008 21:34

Ah yes hedgepig that's what I thought. I've heard horror stories about the sharp decline in feeding when weaning starts....and my thoughts turned to your cyst How is that by the way?

EEeeek...poor you - it'll be the YMCA next! Made me think about my hot water bottle - that's gotta be going on for the same age. They're not something you buy every year. There - that's what you can ask for - for your Xmas pressie

johnworf · 15/12/2008 21:57

mrsb I simply love the optics hanging behind that bar. I want! I was thinking more of the leopard print wallpaper with the palm tree border. Wow. Llewellyn Bowen strikes again!

Crikey hedgepig that was a close call. Can you get the mattress dried off in time for bed?

JJ I was thinking about you the other day...I received the Little Green Earthlets catalogue and in it there is a big green pad that you stick in the freezer or warm up. It's on the lines of the gel teethers but for boobies. Also, they do a 'booby bottle'; a bottle that is boob shaped, soft and acts just like it says on the tin. Both a bit pricey but prolly no use to you now that Verity is getting ready for real grub.

Also, in the shop on Sunday with my DS#2 a woman shouted out 'Verity'! really loudly and my DS#2 pipes up 'I hate these people who call their kids posh names. Surprised you didn't have that one mum'. Much to my chagrin I might add! And he's called Richard as well! Little oik. A swift kick in the pants sorted that one out

I'm loving Branagh in Wallander. I even caught myself thinking, now he's a bit older, a bit rougher round the edges, filled out a bit, I'd have a go with him just to see if he's any good. Terrible I know. But, I'm loving Wallander and it's nicely done in Swedeland.

mrsboogie · 15/12/2008 22:02

I have recorded all the Wallanders - haven't got round to it yet but have read good things - me and OH've been looking for something to replace our Midsomer addiction since we have now seen them all

thinking of you hedgepig in your trials and tribulations - I know how horrid it is as we had no heating recently. It is The Rule - heating breaks in the middle of winter.

OP posts:
jeanjeannie · 16/12/2008 08:19

Oooo a boob bottle - gawd - sounds bliss. Verity was awake most of the night - I'm a real mess this morning

WHAHAHAHAHHAHAH@DSS JW quite a few mates have said it's posh. Well, I blame DP - it was his idea!!

I tried Wallander - couldn't quite manage it. Anyone read the books? I think I nead to be more awake/alert when it's on. The cinematography looks lovely....good old swede land

Tee2072 · 16/12/2008 09:55

I also tried Wallander. It bored me to tears! Also, if set in Sweden, why do they all have posh English accents?

Back at work today. Feel like total crap. Slept like crap. Blood glucose all over the place. At least I have my 12 week scan today!

johnworf · 16/12/2008 10:03

Bloody hell JJ thought Verity had cracked this sleeping malarky. Is it a conspiracy between your OH and the children to keep you sleep deprived? One night wind, the next night wails....lordy. I'd be on the hunt to smash someones face in right now my temper would be that foul.

I've read a couple of the Mankel books...and I love 'em The cinematography is indeed lovely but I love anything scandinavian anyway so knew it would be right up my street.

I've just told DH that once I've done a few of these orders then I'm off to the shop to buy a big box of mince pies as I'm worth it. Didn't get any last night due to indigestion. Gah!

See another one has crawled out of the woodwork to kiss and tell on Ramsay. He's a horn dog isn't he? Glad he's not my husband though....filthy git!

ermintrude13 · 16/12/2008 10:29

Tee, would you have preferred Wallander if they all talked like the Swedish chef in the muppets? It would have made it a rather different sort of show... I liked the way they'd cast slightly Scandy-looking English actors. There were a few slightly regional accents but mostly RP, it's true - dunno if that was deliberate or if that's just Ac-tors. Wonderful light and cinematography and classier than any tv detective stuff for an age. Ken can verge on sandy gingeriness but looked better all bleached out and eye-bagged. What a shame chaps can't appreciate the same sort of qualities in a woman.

Hope your babe is jumping and waving at his/her scan, Tee!

Following yesterday's donut debacle, I'm still angry with Sainsbury's. 2 slab cakes for £2. Iced coffee madeira just went down very well with a cup of decaff. All my fat is on my midriff; nothing to do with growing uterus at all

mrsboogie · 16/12/2008 11:29

coffee cake? stoppit ermintrude* y'hear! enough of this tempting cake talk!

/drools

you've got me all excited to see Wallander now - planning to watch it all over Christmas along with a lot of other things - although I'm sure the little man will allow no such thing. Speaking of whom - he was just having a naked leg kicking moment on the floor when he shot a jet or warm wee onto my foot. and his own socks.

how are things hedgepig any sign of the heating man yet? are you warm yet?

OP posts:
hedgepig · 16/12/2008 11:37

no heating man till after 3, we are the last call of the day apparently brrrr. Ben is off school poorly as well so I can't even go shopping to keep warm, the little fan heater is doing an Ok job though. Sainsburys was sounding very appealing.
does anyone know the last posting day for cards???

johnworf · 16/12/2008 11:49

hedgepig last posting is here...it's different for different services.

Ah, the upwards weeing party trick mrsb. That's why I'm safer with a girly

Anyone catch the baby programme on Beeb4 last night? Twas very informative although I have no idea why I watch such programmes as if I've not got the hang of brining up baby by the 4th one, then there's no hope for me is there?

Tee2072 · 16/12/2008 11:51

hedgepig I think they said on BBC this morning that it is today for 2nd class and Friday for 1st, but check with the Royal Mail website!

Well, maybe not the Swedish Chef, ermintrude but not London either!!!

hedgepig · 16/12/2008 13:00

thank you both it looks like I have ages yet (I always post my cards on the deadline)

jeanjeannie · 16/12/2008 14:18

jw I've finally had a humour failure So stupidly tired. Just sat through Jo Jingles...which Iris wasn't too bothered with. Had judgemental Sure Start woman there, who I SWEAR I'm gonna head butt - she has a real downer on me; even someone else has noticed She keeps asking my "why can't your baby sit up yet?", "you must get her to crawl" " you must give her finger food if she's waking at night".....?! God, I just wanted to shout F*@K OFF!!!!!!

*deep breaths - calm, calm, calm...think Whale music......ahhhhhhhhh

tee hope the scan was all warm and lovely And you didn't fall asleep! I know I would given a couch and a dark room!

hedgepig I think you should force the heating man to do all the repair work with just his undies on - so he can see what it feels like to be cold Mind you - probably won't be a pretty sight for you to look at!

Ermintrude Oh, Swedish chef voices would have been a hoot - far more convincing than the 'luvvie' RP.

jw are you having an affair with all things Scandi? Are you a fan of the furniture too?

Lack of cake and being tired and miserable meant I've had to improvise - so I've just had two slices of toast and Bon Maman Jam...MMMmm.

mrsboogie · 16/12/2008 14:44

ehh?? jj how is chewing on a carrot stick supposed to stop Verity waking in the night? exhaustion brought about by chomping her jaws for hours?

I am glad I don't even know who these people are as I would not be as restrained as you in the face of such affrontery

I hope Darragh doesn't do what Miss V is doing at the mo as I will die if I am back at work and he doesn't let me sleep or maybe I won't die and someone else will!!

how did the scan go tee?
