Speaking of maternity clothes...how much has anyone actually bought? All the 'expert' books say like 2 pairs trousers, 1 pair of jeans, a skirt, some tops, but I personally hate wearing trousers to work more than one day in a row. So how many are y'all managing with?

ladymac · 23/11/2008 13:25

Tee working in a school means I can wear jeans to work. At the moment I am mostly wearing two clingy black skirts, one short and one long, made of a kind of jersey material. They're a make called Melba. Tights (M&S opaque maternity tights much better than Mothercare ones) and some boots finish off the outfit. Much comfier than trousers and easy to ring the changes with different tops.

Think I win hands down on the dream front. Sex with David Beckham. Not just that but he was totally in love with me. Lovely c**k too, by the way!

lilibet · 23/11/2008 13:43

Well it's truly horrible here. Pouring down with rain and very cold. Poor Dh has taken ds2 to football, so at the moment he is standing on a touchline, shivering away. I was very nice however and made him a flask of coffee with whiskey in it. We usually both go but a the moment I can't be that far away from a loo and supply of clean knickers - that's my story and I'm sticking to it. There has to be some advantages to this .

tee hope you enjoyed your night out, what did you think of the film? I loved it, but a few mates thought it was dreadful. I thought that the foreign woman was an excellent bond girl. She had lovely hair.

I'm doing a bit of tidying with ds1's(very reluctant) help. Oh and we had a bit of an 'incident' this morning. Dh discovered that soemone had been looking at porn on the internet. Questioned both boys, both denied it, then a very sheepish ds2 confessed in private. He was very sorry, but some boys had been talking about it at school abd he wanted to see what they were talking about. He was in tears and very repentant, so we gave him a bit of a talking to and a good hug for confessing. My baby is growing up!!

My eldest baby, dd, was out round town last night, wearing the same amount of clothes that I would wear in 95 degree heat and 'accidentaly' kissed a boy whom she has fancied for ages . I need her to enjoy the single life as she is just out of a 3 year relationship with someone who was not really good for her.

I really must get over my luditeness and sort out a profile so you can see who I am talking about

I'm at Stoke City Football Ground tomorrow on a course from work,so you may not hear from me during the day (bloody inconsiderate not having mumsnet access on these things).

So off to get mum to bring her round for tea, chicken curry for her and the children, veggie curry for me and dh.

Iris in a bed, someone else's baby is growing up too!! I hope she settles in it for you.

lilibet · 23/11/2008 13:44

ladymac !!! and !!!

ps, when are you 46?

jeanjeannie · 23/11/2008 14:06

SHhhhhhh...guess what? Iris is fast asleep in her new bed. She's scooped up All her soft toys and piled them in with her....awwww - she looks lovely asleep in there! I know lilibet - all growing up eh

ladymac Hahahahah - sl*pper!!! Yes, yes....you've won

Tee I found skirts much nicer - just didn't gel with trousers while preggie. Also really liked dresses with a long knitted cardi. I really didn't have that much and as soon as I was home it was comfy lounging pants for me!
Oh - and whispers Dungarees......eek! I know, I know.....but they were comfy

lilibet how do these young girls do it eh? Even when I was a lass and out on the town I still wore a coat....ok, so it was a manky black one that I'd splattered with dye! But it did the job. My SIL went out yesterday with nowt but jeans and a batwing top and she's 30!!

Have a lovely time at Stoke City Footie ground... Glad you're taking full advantage of not going out in this shocking weather!

ladymac · 23/11/2008 14:07

46 in August lilibet.

Yes, sorry if a bit shocking re David Beckham. Weird too as I don't actually fancy him though I do appreciate a well-toned bod. Weirder still is that one of the horniest dreams I ever had was about Ryan Giggs and I really hate Man Utd!

mrsboogie · 23/11/2008 14:10

ladymac yup - you win hands down on the dream front sigh.

re Gordon Ramsey - I am sooo not surprised. Although calling it an affair might be stretching it - appara she is one of these "professional mistresses" although I believe there may be other ways of describing it...

lilibet awww poor ds2 - just a bit of healthy curiosity - if the internet had existed when I was a young 'un I'm quite sure that filth would have been my first port of call I remember that my friends and I were fascinated by sex and what adults got up to (back then in Catholic Ireland it really was only adults doing it). Still, he'll probably not do it again after being caught so quickly

ladymac · 23/11/2008 14:14

jeanjeannie, aww, bless, I'd love to see Iris all snuggled up with her furry toys in her new bed. What sort did you get? Did you have to buy a 2nd cot when you had Verity? I'm asking as I can't believe Elizabeth will be ready for a bed when she's 2 and the new baby comes along.

ladymac · 23/11/2008 14:17

I agree mrsb I'm not surprised either bout Gordon. IMO he deserves to be caught out after the toad in the hole debacle!

mrsboogie · 23/11/2008 14:19

re maternity wear - it was the height of summer when I was heavily pg (shudder at the memory) so I lived in a couple of elasticated waist skirts (some maternity, some not) and a few el cheapo long line non-maternity tops in a larger size and whatever of my non pg clothes that still fitted me - being on the portly side anyway this amounted to quite a few!. Luckily as my job is not customer facing we can wear what we want to work.I found most maternity clothes to be dull dull dull. Couldn't be doing with trousers though - skirts were far more comfy.

As soon as work was over I was straight into my lightweight jammies - a habit I have not entirely broken yet to be honest. I am aware that I have let myself go terribly in recent months - not good. But I do so want the hairstyle of the foreign lady in James Bond movie - must get a pic of it to show to my hairdresser when next I go.

gingermumi · 23/11/2008 14:44

at carpet hunbt lillibet!

jeanjeannie · 23/11/2008 14:50

ladymac LOL@ Gordon deserving to be caught out after a naff toad-in-the-hole recipe!!!

We did buy a new cot - but literally just a cheap one as we knew it'd be just for 6 months. Iris was still a bit small for the bed when Verity was born.

MIL has given us a single bed as a stop gap - but it's ok - we'll just get a new mattress for it later. We're moving the cot bed into Verity's room and then probably freecycle the cot as can't be bothered to sell it - way too much hassle! Unless you can do that at an NCT sale, then I could be persuaded. The cot bed will then become Verity's bed later.

FIL coming over now -- so toodle pip - or as the kids say these days...laters

lilibet · 23/11/2008 15:02

What have I missed about Gordon Ramsay? He's not kissed and told about me has he???

ladymac · 23/11/2008 15:58

Yes lilibet he said you were a real babe with a comprehensive knowledge of the Karma Sutra and your new carpet is bound to be a shag pile

ladymac · 23/11/2008 16:02

By the way mrsb I'm still in my pyjamas at 4pm without a small baby as an excuse Have to get dressed though as we're going to see Michael McIntyre at the Hammersmith Apollo this evening. Never seen comedy in a huge venue before.

lilibet · 23/11/2008 16:06

ladymac every word is true . i love Michael McIntyre and he is one of the few comedians who makes dd laugh.

I have managed to get 2 photos on my profile, they were taken in Feb03, at mine and dh's wedding. I was up to putting on one of me and the cd thingy has died in protest

lilibet · 23/11/2008 16:22

I'm on!!

jeanjeannie · 23/11/2008 16:47

lilibet FAB photos....you look great But then if a girl can't look brill on her big day - then when can she?! Gorgeous not-so-little-ones too - your DD looks like you

I just don't find the wife-cheating, Ramsey attractive. Just trying to think of a celeb Chef that I so would with.....

Gordon - too poxy/Jamie - too young and I'd be worried he'd shout out 'PUKKA! / Hugh F W...too nerdy and curly / Marco P White - too smelly / Worrel Thompson - too Elfish/ Oh bugger - go on then- I'll give boyish James Martin a go

ladymac That's it - you go out and enjoy yourself...don't think about us lot sitting here at home...no!! Enjoy - I'm V

Iris is playing with a drill. It's a mini Bosch number out of DPs tool bag... The drill bit isn't in it but it sure looks very un-pc

Tee2072 · 23/11/2008 19:23

lilibet great pictures! I thought Quantum of Solace was just okay. The action scenes weren't that interesting, actually. And I thought some of the violence was a little over the top for a 12a film. I guess I'm getting old!

So did Ramsey confess somewhere legitimate, or is this all DM stuff?

mrsboogie · 23/11/2008 20:03

Why its DM stuff of course tee but odds are that its likely to be true else he would have been able to get an injunction against publication.

ladymac I am so v - I love stand up and think M Macintyre is great - one of the advantages to living dahn sarf I reckon - the profusion of stand up shows to go to.

lilibet you look absolutely beautiful in those pics.

Now, chefs I so would...hmmm James Martin obviously, Gordon - yes for a bit of rough, ditto Marco (sshhh, I know Jamie - nah, AWT - no way obviously, Heston - probably just for the novelty value, hmmm who else.. Gary Rhodes - eeek , Richard Corrigan - ehh no if he was the last man on earth, Nigella ...hmm maybe

OP posts:
Tee2072 · 23/11/2008 21:08

I am either looking at the wrong DM site, or I am stupid, because I don't see this Ramsay thing at all! I can find what you people are talking about on that site! Can anyone give me a URL?

johnworf · 23/11/2008 21:18

I saw Ramsay on News of the Screws. Yes, I confess all...I look but never touch

As for celeb chefs...in the following order

Kill: AWT
Shag: M P White
Marry: Phil Vickery

jeanjeannie · 23/11/2008 21:21

Hahahahah mrsB - Nigella!!!! My gaydar goes off like a rocket when I see Gary Rhodes. Mate did a shoot with him recently and she reckoned he couldn't get his shirt off quick enough to show off his pecs!!!

tee I saw the Ramsay fiasco on the News of the Screws website Not my usual Sunday reading material...

lilibet · 23/11/2008 22:04

Chefs:

Kill:- Nigella
Shag:- Gordon
Marry :- Nigel Slater (he wouldnt really be interested in the shag!)

Thank you - as someone said, if you can't look good on your big day.........

and it was almost 4 years and over a stone back

Not having a good night, lots of pain and bleeding (again!), I do feel like my insides are coming out - all of them, not just the relevant bits.
