Hands up all those in favour of mrsb having another!

hands up

Tee2072 · 25/11/2008 16:38

Well, had an endo appointment today and they decided to scan me again, not that I objected! There has to be some advantage to being diabetic!

Good strong heartbeat, wiggling so bad he almost couldn't get a measurement! Now measuring at 9+1, whereas last scan had me at 10 weeks tomorrow, but the scan pic does say there is a margin for error of +/- 1 week.

I have my booking in and another scan in 3 weeks and should have a more definite due date then!

and
hands up

Hello ladies, I can't beleive the size of this thread already.

Tee I'm guessing that you are lovely and slim, and that's how your dh can see your bump so early?? Get some cake woman!! Hope you go on ok at the gp tomorrow and they can sort you out some meds so you are soon feeling a bit more human

JJ - periods, oh what fun - you could have another!! A boy would be nice

JW dh said that she must have known. I can't beleive that, their youngest child is 5!

MrsB We must see the roadkill suit!!! Glad your builders have finished, hope there isn't too much clearing up to do.

Anyhow, I deserve either a medal, a shiny or (first choice) a very large piece of cake for being a brave girl yesterday. One of the jobs I have at church is to go and visit families who want their babies baptising. As about 95% of them are new to the church, I talk to them about the creche, toy bags, where to put your pram, where the changing facilities are etc. Nothing bible bashing or 'heavy' jsut to try and make their visits comfortable. I had four of these visits to do last night and I got through them all without a tear, or even a threat of one. I was very proud of myself.

At the last visit, the lady had a boy and girl who were 10 months apart . The baby was having her bottle while the boy was playing on the double duvet that was out in the middle of the living room. ( I thought that was an excellent idea!) Next thing the baby throws up everywhere, mum cleans her up, baby starts crying for bottle again, then we noticed that the boy was sat at the back of a chair and had finished it!! Poor baby, poor mum!!

In another (very small) house, there was nine dogs, a cat and some fish .

So, I need a honest and unbiased opinion from you all. When this has all stopped what do I do? My options seem to be:-

Get another coil fitted - painful and final.
Leave it as it is - I went 15 months without ovulating the chances of it happening again are minimal, but is it worth the risk?
Try again with a vengance - counting days, ovulating kits etc, but do I want to go through that (and this) again?

Whaddya think?

lilibet · 25/11/2008 16:42

Crossed posts

hand up tee - how lovely!!

mrsboogie · 25/11/2008 16:59

ooooh a scan tee one of the best bits

/hands down

actually its mr boogie who would need convincing ladies - he's not liking the sleepless nights much

OP posts:
jeanjeannie · 25/11/2008 16:59

Oh...me, me, me, definately hands up!!! mrsB shouldn't leave me on my own as the only nutter with two in nappies

tee how fab - you've seen your LO. Scans have room for movement of dates but so long as you've got an idea.....so you know when to expect the arrival and leave everything to the last minute !!!!

lilibet you're one hell of a bird A large piece of cake is yours....heck, have the whole lot!

In the very small house - with the 9 dogs where did the baby fit?!!

Well, only you can make the decision - but by the sounds of your post option #2 sounds the most favourable....and the most fun. If you're willing to give it a go but don't want the full-on stress then I say #2 gives you back your life, unruled by dates etc. And I think the less stressed out you all are then it sometimes has a knock-on effect and you end up preggie!! I think I'd go for #2 if I thought it'd be nice if it happened again but not the end of the world if it didn't

Verity has scoffed some apple - pleasing! But she's so snotty - sounds like a truffle hound rooting around the undergrowth!

Tee2072 · 25/11/2008 17:36

lilibet you'd be wrong about that! Cake has been a large part of my diet for a very long time. And I think you should have a whole cake today. And I think number 2 seems like the best option!

hedgepig · 25/11/2008 18:05

has anyone ever watched the game show Golden balls? Completely baffling I have no idea what is going on.
lilibet re-decision I would probably go for #2 for a while and then if curiosity got the better of me I would but MrsB ovulation kit off her for a sneaky check to see if I was ovulating. I actually like charting when we were TTC as I do like a nice graph, but that is the scientist in me I'm afraid. Well done with all your visits.

hedgepig · 25/11/2008 18:05

buy not but!

johnworf · 25/11/2008 18:05

lilibet I'm with the other ladies and option 2 seems favourable. When I was secretly trying my hardest to get up the duff I got nowhere. Then I resigned myself that I was too old and haggard to get pregnant and was set to welcome the menopause...then it happened. Corny? yep. Cliched? yep. But it did happen once I stopped thinking about it

Plus you get to shag all the time....heh heh

Talking of which.......I don't shag anymore Well. Very rarely. I dunno how the woman you visited had 2 only 10 months apart. I don't even have the energy to think about doing it let alone get around to doing it.

My MW did tell me of one of her ladies who had to get the morning after pill 2 weeks post natally

johnworf · 25/11/2008 18:06

hedgepig I sat and watched Golden Balls the other day with DH. I had no idea either. Then he tried to explain what happens about 'stealing' etc and I still had no idea.

I gave up and went in the kitchen in the end.

lilibet · 25/11/2008 18:32

We do see some stragne and wonderful people when we are out on visits, I love doing it, not least to look at the houses . I have copied some very good ideas! Our parish covers quite a wide spectrum, we have a council estate with smack heads and at the other extreme a quite posh bit. The one with the dogs lived in the tiniest council house, it was mum, dad and teenage girl with baby. You do have to feel very sorry for them.

JJ - love the truffle hound description - can she root out some cake?

The problem with #2 is that I have to use some form of contraception eventually.

mrsboogie · 25/11/2008 19:18

ok ladies - I have put a couple of pics of the roadkill suit on (plus a couple of others)

OP posts:
hedgepig · 25/11/2008 19:21

LOL at the road kill outfit, it is soooooooo cute. One to show future girl friends for sure

Tee2072 · 25/11/2008 19:30

I love the road kill suit!!!

jeanjeannie · 25/11/2008 20:23

MrsB That suit is a hoot As hedgepig says - one for the girlfriends!!!

lilibet I love the idea of you popping over to folks' houses and suddenly turning into Lloyd Grossman in Through the Keyhole

Golden balls? Huh? Sounds to me like a dodgy daytime quiz show...a bit like that one Henry Kelly used to present - with contestants from all over Europe....awww - what was that called?!!???

lilibet although you may have to use contraception eventually - having a bit of fun before that may prove fun/fruitful/more fun (delete as appropriate) !!! Like jw* I had no faith that I'd get preggie again - I mean - look at my enormous box-set of Tampax - hardly a purchase for someone expecting to be knocked up again

johnworf · 25/11/2008 22:15

For anyone interested, 50% off sale at Blooming Marvellous.

OOH and if you go to the Hot UK Deals site and search for Boden, there's a link to the preview Autumn range 2009

jeanjeannie · 26/11/2008 08:19

Morning Guess who got LOADS of sleep [smug and awake emoticon]

JW you are indeed a fountain of retail knowlege....I'm heading to Marlow today so shall pop into Blooming Marvellous - cheers cos I wouldn't have gone that end of town

I read today on the Martin Lewis, Money Saving email that from Dec 1st, credit rating scores are starting to change. This pleases me enormously. My Credit rating is sh*te cos I've got no debt - yet mates who are now up to their eyeballs in repayments are still getting store cards etc cos their ratings are still fab. One friend here is in real trouble - got about two more months on minimum repayments before she goes under. She was given a mortgage 6.5 times her salary because of her glossy rating - makes me fume! I suffer for being good while folk, daft as brushes, get more and more. Surely that vast amount of debt should be recorded and seen as a warning sign.... or maybe not and that's one reason why everything has gone belly up???? I hate having a record that makes me look like I'm not good with money
Fiscal rant over - deep breath....ahhhhh....that's better

Iris with MIL today - it's just me and the tiny snot monster.

Tee2072 · 26/11/2008 08:23

Morning.

Glad someone did JJ. I certainly didn't. [tired and falling asleep icon]

See my GP today, so hopefully can get sorted and feeling better soon. Or at least get officially told, yup, your depressed, sorry, can't give you anything. Here's a note, stay off work for another 2 weeks.

My sister in law sent me a link for Brand Alley, anyone use it and is it any good?

jeanjeannie · 26/11/2008 08:26

GREGGS ALERT!!! Also on the Money Saving website - a voucher .....2 for 1 festive pasties.....!! HAhahahah - they're having to give 'em away

tee hope all goes well at the docs today. I certainly sympathise with the sleep deprivation. If it was an Olympic sport I think I could seriously enter!

johnworf · 26/11/2008 08:27

JJ I like to keep abreast of anything that is cheap/bargain-like/free and so I subscribe to a multitude of websites to make sure I'm one of the 1st through the door when they're putting the Sale signs up

Heads up on tomorrows M&S sale. Another day of 20% off I think but check this first.

Didn't know the credit rating scoring was changing. Does this mean they are going to take into account those without debt? My friend had 14 credit cards and ran up £75k on them. Fabulous wardrobe/handbags/shoes and Selfridges Chanel counter loved her. Alas, now she is on one of those IVA thingies as so many seem to take up. They may decide at the end of the paying up (5 years) they can force her to sell her house. Crazy!

Glad to hear that Verity has finally got the hang of this sleep malarky. Obviously she's had words with Katherine beforehand as K slept no more than 2 hours y'day, having 15 minute naps here and there. This went on until 11pm when I thought surely child, you must be knackered. She went to bed at 11.30 and didn't peep until 7.00am. However, how can such a LO go that long without sleep? I did read that babies don't sleep like adults and their 15 minute cat naps are actually power naps.

jeanjeannie · 26/11/2008 09:19

Ooooo jw another M&S sale...MMMMMm

Apparently credit scoring is going ot take into consideration those who only pay minimum payments, how many cards people have - therefore looking at the debit as a whole and those who 'card tart'. So anyone wanting to do any of the latter - do it before Dec 1st!!! Don't think they can take savings into account!

Yep the IVA route is where my mate is heading to as well. Like your friends she's always in designer gear - heading off to Bicester designer outlet - yet moans she's got no money. Trouble is - with dropping interest rates - if the government keep pushing spending then I can't see it'll change unless they reign in those who've got no 'real' money. Some of DPs mates have had bouncing cheques and done work where the client has suddenly gone bankrupt - and these are ordinary householders - not businesses!

Ah - the power nap - Seems to be true. Verity is adept at those. Sorry that she seems to have passed on the knowledge to K bad girl.

johnworf · 26/11/2008 09:54

Well in theory, I suppose she had no 'real' money as it was all on plastic.

Crap @ the bouncing cheques. Hope your OH has invested in a PDQ machine and take the blooming plastic off 'em!

mrsboogie · 26/11/2008 10:21

mornin' all

I see that House of Fraser are doing a 25% off sale next.

Mr D woke every three hours for feeding last night after sleeping for a full six hours the night before. Am knackered.

I see that according to the DM Brangelina may be pregnant again - what in gawd's name is the woman playing at? If its true they will have seven children under 5. It's bordering on some kind of psychological disturbance now. No matter how much money they have she will never be able to give them much time as individuals. They will all grow up as attention seeking nutjobs like herself.

gingermumi · 26/11/2008 10:25
