Tee2072 · 24/11/2008 20:31

JJ I've been wearing pajamas all day. Is that the same thing?

And I thought DH was wrong until I caught a glimpse of myself in our full glass wall tonight. Yup, definitely pregnant!

johnworf · 24/11/2008 20:50

oooh banana time! Wow, weaning already. Doesn't the time go quickly?

JJ as mum of prem yourself when do you consolidate the actual to the corrected? I'm working on two dates here; 6months old/10 weeks old. I'm wondering when she'll catch up to the actual. The reason I was wondering was that K will be in the same year at school as Verity yet she's obviously a long way behind as yet. Any thoughts?

hedgepig · 24/11/2008 21:05

evening all, I found you (I haven't posted for a couple of days any you are already up to page 4 how splendid).

gosh TV chefs they are all rather weird IMO apart from Saint Delia (who I don't want to sleep with I must say).

jeanjeannie · 25/11/2008 10:19

Morning all. Guess what? Go on...Guess!

Yes, that's right, my periods started this morning I knew I was feeling funny. Gosh my last one was Aug 07 Chance to use that bumper pack of tampax I bought shortly before I got up-the-duff with Verity - thinking 'oh at my age it aint gonna happen again'!

The upside of it is though - my Boobies have shrunk almost overnight and my hair has stopped falling out in clumps and is reasonably glossy! HURRAH!!

hedgepig Thank gawd you found us girl I was wondering where you were.

jw MMmmm, corrected ages.....everyone in the med world seems divided on this. Most work on a 2 year catch up - but then my paediatrician reckons thats physical rather than developmental.

Taking Iris and her 7 weeks early - she didn't walk till 21 mnths, can only just run and can't yet jump or skip. Also most of her friends can talk yet she's only just had a word explosion - literally in the last few days.

The speech therapist said that for every month prem she reckoned most were about 3 months behind and not to worry, and it's often a question of confidence. That fits Iris perfectly.

But as with all LOs they are individual and they don't fit chapters in books. Personally I think 2 years is a bit early for corrective age and with more and more babies born prem I think most paeds agree that it's by the time they start school.

Oh I have period pain....

hedgepig · 25/11/2008 10:31

JJ sorry about the period pain but at least you get to use up the tampax (and I'm pleased you are happy they have returned ), are you still feeding verity through the night or has operation sleep stopped that? they say that it is the night feeding that keeps them at bay when you bfeed.
JJ I never knew there was an Ikea at MK I will have to check it out, we went there on Sunday (MK not IKea) to the snow dome so ben and DH could go sledging, they had a great time although got very wet. I had spare clothes for Ben but not DH so he had to wander around with a wet bum all afternoon

cripes it is bloomimg chilly here today, being at home in the day when the heating isn't on has revealed all the drafty windows we have in this house.

Tee2072 · 25/11/2008 10:39

Good morning all.

I am feeling like total crap today. Nausea, headache, still depressed. And of course I can't stay home all day because I have diabetes clinic appointment at 2:45.

JJ coincidently I also purchased a jumbo pack of tampons before I found out I was pregnant! My husband said it was Sod's Law!

hedgepig · 25/11/2008 10:44

tee poor you, make sure you keep your fluids up it should help with the headache (maybe the nausea). Are you still due to see your GP this week about you anti-depression meds?

I'm going to have to put the heating on there is nothing else for it (well a vest as well of course)

Tee2072 · 25/11/2008 10:57

Yes, hedgepig I see her tomorrow morning.

And do put the heating on. It is really cold!

johnworf · 25/11/2008 11:13

JJ thanks for that. I will have to ask my consultant when she goes for a check up next in December. Not that I doubt what you say. Going off what you've been told then Katherine is already 12 months behind which doesn't bode well for her being in the academic year above that she should have been in (by her due date as opposed to her actual). Worrying none the less. Like you say though, they're all different and do things at their own pace.

Talking of which did anyone see the Trevor MacDonut programme last night about talking to children and language delays? Jeebus. Talk about stating the bleeding obvious. Who are these women folk who have no communication between themselves and their children? The chavistocracy? Shameful imho.

Moving swiftly on to more shame - Gordon Ramsay or should I say Tana Ramsay. Now, on Sunday when the news broke I said to DH and my DS#2 that I felt sorry for his wife etc etc. And funnily enough they both said exactly the same thing in that she'd already know about it and would stay with him for the money. Well! I was most shocked and said I think not! Seems I am wrong From what the Daily Snail says she is doing exactly that.....in it for the money/lifestyle etc. Very sad indeed. But yet again call me old fashioned.

hedgepig · 25/11/2008 12:19

my toes are nice and toasty now.
Tee I hope she can help tomorrow your body is doing so much at the moment I'm sure the hormone changes can't be helping.
JW I can understand trying to work thing out with a partner if there was just a one night thing but 7 years this "affair" has been supposedly going on, where is his respect for his wife??? I suppose the other thing to consider is do they have books out, maybe they have made it all up for the publicity??

jeanjeannie · 25/11/2008 13:31

Thank the Lord for thermal vests

hedgepig Yep, still feeding through the night - although it's more like 'nipple toying'! So maybe that's why the big P has returned. Ahnd yes, MK has a fine IKEA - all the usual - only upstairs...very odd layout - have to go in a lift to get to the stuff

tee poor you Glad your're seeing GP tomorrow - it's bad enough feeling crappy in the first trimester without it all being compounded by depression.

jw I think that's the thing with prems - no one is prepared to be concrete about it all...and LOs are so individual. I think that's why these checks that the government have put in place, combined with all the literature about what your child 'should' be doing now and the 'red flag' system to check for autism etc is sending everyone into overdrive. Apparently the 2 year old check 4 years ago suggested 20 words was OK - now it's 50 and two words together....HUH?! Kids aren't businesses with 'year-on-year growth!' They're not advancing in their abilities - otherwise they'd be taking the 11+ at nursery in about 10 years from now

Forgot to say that my friend in the NCT - her little one was born on hols (in the US & like you, airlifted back home) at 26 weeks - and now her DS is 6 and totally up with all the kids in her class AND he was a summer baby - so technically almost a year behind anyway. So who can tell!

Maybe he can't afford to divorce Tana...! She'd probably walk off with Claridges, and a shed load of pots and pans! She is ramping up her TV appearances and book deals ...she's probably scared she'll be a no-one if she's not with him. Oh - I do wish my DP would get on the telly with his own DIY show. Just think, I could be like Tana and start writing my own, 'create yourself a lovely orangerie' and 'easy extensions to build while your baby sleeps'......

Have carb munchies really badly....MUST have Pasta

mrsboogie · 25/11/2008 13:37

hello all

hurrah - the builders have finished! just coming back tomorrow to tidy up a few loose ends and receive their monies and then the decorating can commence!

Yesterday's trip to Ikea was a bit of a mare - first the sister's Sat Nav went doolally it thought we were driving in a field, kept trying to get us to turn right on the motorway and sent us off at the wrong junction so we had to drive through some villages until we could get back on it.This is only meant to be a half hour journey! anyhoo when we got there Mr D was most unimpressed at being woken to go shopping and he screamed the place down. He was wearing his roadkill suit and all the shoppers were staring at his woman walking around with a small screaming bear on her shoulder

But I got the lamp that I went for and the screaming lasted until we had been through the tills so at least I didn't get a chance to buy a load of other stuff that I hadn't intended to get and that I have no space for in my kitchen!

Due to being overstimulatig by my sister gushing nonsense at him for hours and hours D refused to go to bed last night and screamed again for what seemd like hours. However he fell to sleep at 12.30 and get this - didn't wake uo til after 7am! Then he had his botle and went straight back to sleep until after ten so mummy had a lie in!

Re periods - I had mine last week - nine weeks since giving birth - had a really sharp pain in my ovary the night before then when it actually arrived I had no pain at all - was pleasantly surprised as I had expected a painful one.

jw It would be harsh if K had to start school a year "early" so to speak - can you not appeal to not have her start until the year she would have started if she had been full term?

OP posts:
mrsboogie · 25/11/2008 13:39

sorry bout the typos - writing one handed

OP posts:
johnworf · 25/11/2008 13:52

mrsb I'll wait and see how she progresses with her development and if she's lagging far behind then yes, I'll keep her back a year. But reading about JJ's friend gives me hope that there is the 'potential' (there's that word again) for her to catch up so I'll suck it and see.

Poor Darragh. Mummy ad libbing and going off script! How dare you change his routine

OOH don't get me started on sat navs. I'll never use ours again after it took us down that A road which turned out to be a dirt track with the gushing ford across it when I was in labour. Never. Ever. Again.

I'm chuckling at him dressed as the screaming bear

hedgepig I once read that both Ramsay and his wife said that they see each other once or twice a week at the weekends (prolly to say hi to the kids ) so he could be up to all sorts through the week. Also, now he's got all his Michelin stars, restaurants, hotels, programmes on tv, money! I guess he'll be thinking he's at least a demi-god so why should he worry about upsetting his wife?

I think the Ramsay story is a bit more complex as Tana's dad runs the Ramsay empire...I did read in the DM that Tana's family had a pow wow y'day in some hotel...so who knows what's been said? It'll cost them as well though if she bails.

mrsboogie · 25/11/2008 13:57

its like the Beckhams - the Ramsey family is a "brand" which must retain its corporate identity regardless of what the humans in it are getting up to or how they feel.

OP posts:
jeanjeannie · 25/11/2008 14:02

SAT NAVS????? SAT NAVS Good Lord - come on ladies......MAPS - they're the future! *runs off and hides before she gets flamed.............

MrsB am also LOL@ babyD dressed as a screaming bear! Please, please, please put up a pic of the roadkill suit!

OOoooo jw the plot thickens eh? Tana's daddy runs the empire....OOOooo, Sopranos ala Ramsey style. I did have a risotto at his Claridges restaurant though and it was bloody gorgeous. Can't forgive him though cos of a nice bit of rice.

I'm amazed that women marry chefs....they're never at home to cook. I see St Oliver's wife (the lovely jools) is preggie again - must have been a fleeting meeting on the stairs!

hedgepig · 25/11/2008 14:12

couldn't agree with you more Maps are fantastic things the idea of a sat nav just does my head in. DH piad me a compliment (i think it was a compliment) at the weekend that I was the best girl map reader he knew because my brain is wired like a blokes.

Apparently the Oliver number 3 baby is a natural conception whereas they had to do IVF for the 2 girls. So they must have had to be in the same room [grin}. I realized the other day we may have messed up with Olivers name since we gave him James as the second one, but you can't think of inverting options as well as everything else.

mrsboogie · 25/11/2008 14:24

I took a picture of the roadkill suit yesterday so will put it up when OH comes home tonight. It has a tail an' everyfing It is ridiculously cute but I feel embarrassed taking him out in it - both for him for looking so daft and for myself in case people think I bought it but it does keep him toasty warm.

OP posts:
mrsboogie · 25/11/2008 14:35

ohh according to an interview I read in Grazia Jools was on clomid when she conceived and it was the last try before going for IVF again.

Speaking of buying things before getting pregnant -I bought an ovulation kit - was up the duff before I got a chance to use it

OP posts:
johnworf · 25/11/2008 14:44

but the burning question is mrsb will you be getting it out of the box any day soon?

hedgepig · 25/11/2008 14:55

it would be lovely for D to have a little play mate

jeanjeannie · 25/11/2008 14:59

Yeah and it's no trouble having two under two. Piece of cake. Like falling off a log

hedgepig · 25/11/2008 15:03

then once you fall off, you can lay your head down on the log for a snooze

mrsboogie · 25/11/2008 15:07

oh like a shot (so long as I don't have to be present at the birth) or at the pregnancy for that matter

OP posts:
mrsboogie · 25/11/2008 15:08

haha jj are those my own words coming back to haunt me?
