'ere ladies - the Galt playnest is only £29.99 on Tesco direct - down from £39.99.

ooh, got mine from studio cards (mmm, yes i know that's weird but i did!) for £19.99, don't know if they still have them at that price. It has the frame and toys etc.

Tee2072 · 26/11/2008 11:16

Ooh, sales...yummy!

Saw my GP today and basically got told to relax for the next week. Won't give me any meds cuz of the baby, but am signed off work until Monday week.

I think I feel a long leisurely day of shopping coming up, perhaps with lunch out.

So the official diagnosis is 'the baby is kicking your ass, let it for a bit!' Okay!

jeanjeannie · 26/11/2008 11:25

Ladies - before you purchase a Galt playnest - try ebay....usually loads on there. Lots of LOs don't like them - Iris was never keen - as they slip down and by the time they're big enough to deal with it - they can't be a*sed! Got mine dirt cheap and had Verity not liked it - I'd have stuck it back on there.

tee that sounds like wise words from the GP. Rest is always the ticket at the beginning of pregnancy - and babies really do 'kick your ass' and hoover up all your nutrients etc, etc, etc. You go rest girl....stay on MN and sniff cake

All those kiddies smacks of an addictive personality to me.....MMMMmmm. If true then Monsieur Pitt needs to keep it in his pants or reign her in - for all their sakes. Unless of course he's as big a fruit loop as she is Oh, I much prefered Jennifer Aniston - she was someone you'd be friends with

johnworf · 26/11/2008 12:28

Got my Galt playring from Ebay (where else?) for less than a tenner including postage

Brangelina is officially a fruitcake. I mean, who has sex when they've got kids under...1? I mean 18?

Most of the big stores have sales on tomorrow ladies so get your purses out!

jeanjeannie · 26/11/2008 14:07

Cor - just struggled through masses of 'Chavistocracy' who seem to be living it large (cans on the go, coke in baby's bottles, chip-fat perms on pramfaces, weasle-faced men with pimples) in the town centre....most odd....perhaps it's their AGM?

jw way-hey....ebay...it's the future!

Sorry if TMI but DP went to Costco the other day and came back with loads of Durex........ I'm still clutching my sides laughing.....bless him. Well, it is near Xmas I suppose

johnworf · 26/11/2008 14:28

lmfao. JJ he's either opening up a market stall or you're in for a treat

Glad to see that the chavistocracy are the same wherever you go. I do hope the male variety of chavs had their hoods up or they would certainly be letting the side down. OOh and I do like a lady chav in lots of bling, especially the slag hoops and the 'madonna' piercing in the cheek

Just had the sewing machine out for a few jobs on DSS's cubs jumper. I can't even thread the blummin needle these days...good job my eyes are due for testing again in March (might go sooner at this rate). I'm drowning my sorrows in a box of cadburys fingers. It has to be done.

I love ebay personally. I look up anything I want and go and see if it's on Ebay cheaper. It's like garlic bread!

mrsb I see that Monsieur Darragh and K have had words and are keeping us on our toes

gingermumi · 26/11/2008 15:17

JJ

mrsboogie · 26/11/2008 15:23

yes jw not good. I don't think he ever intends to sleep through the night He has really taken to trying to insert his fist into his mouth - he's at it all the time - half the night I could hear him slurping at his fingers in bed

Ehmm my chav knowledge is obviously not up to scratch - and i know I will regret asking but what the heck is Madonna cheek piercing???

I am rubbish at remembering to look at ebay plus I get the RAGE if people have the cheek to outbid me althoough I have bought a couple of buy it now items recently.

OP posts:
jeanjeannie · 26/11/2008 15:33

Thanks gingermumi !!

mrsB are there no chavs in your neck of the woods? A 'Madonna' piercing is on the cheek - sort of near the lip - to immitate Madonna's mole. I've heard it called a Crawford - after Cindy Crawford's mole. It's just such a 'special' look. And soooo many of the girls look just like Madonna - it's uncanny

jw when the boys have their hoods down (on special occasions, like being questioned by the police!) I like to see the strange little wet-look fringe they create with the gel - sort of spiking it down like they've drawn it on with felt tip.

mrsb did you ever get your velvet curtains? .....*runs off to hide incase it brings back bad ebay memories for her.....

mrsboogie · 26/11/2008 15:45

oh there are chavs aplenty round here jj
I think I am probably to dazzled by the gold and bewildered by the jailhouse tats up the necks and down the legs to notice the Crawfords on the cheek I have a terrible fascination for those little gold men and women that some of them have hanging on chains round their necks.

I did indeed gt my velvet curtain jj I contacted the seller and asked her to just sell me one as a buy it now and she most obligingly did so.

OP posts:
jeanjeannie · 26/11/2008 15:52

mrsB marvellous news - I'm of your velvet. I'd like thick, white velvet curtains but DP is (quite rightly ) having none of it. Imagine the felt tip traumas!

Never seen the gold men & women around the necks...OOooo, I shall look out for those - they sound gorgeous.

gingermumi · 26/11/2008 16:00

Do you mean the kind of jointed doll things? never worked out what they were about! Anyway IMO If they spent their money on their five a day instead of bling they wouldn't be pale and weasly! (says she who has just scoured the college for a cafe that is till selling chips... it was a desperate, stave off morning sickness need )

mrsboogie · 26/11/2008 16:02

God, how fab - I would love thick white velvet curtains - though you would have to hang them in a room where neither man nor beast ever set foot.

OP posts:
mrsboogie · 26/11/2008 16:06

yes gingermumi those horrible weird looking jointed things. Theres a woman works in the local Sainsburys next to us and she wears them, together with a hundredweight of other assorted gold chains (I don't know she doesn't do herself an injury) and sovereign rings and she has tattooed knuckles, bleached white hair, an orange tan and a voice that would strip paint at 100 yards.

OP posts:
Tee2072 · 26/11/2008 16:16

Huh. I don't think we really have Chavs in NI. At least not like you're describing!

Sheesh, no Greggs and no Chavs. I am really missing out on the true UK experience!

mrsboogie · 26/11/2008 16:20

oh you must have them tee I know they have 'em in the South. Maybe you live in too nice an area?

The most common type is the male wearing sports wear, with a baseball hat and tracksuit or pullover usually in white or pale blue, with his tracksuit bottoms tucked into his socks on one side. You must have seen some of these

OP posts:
Tee2072 · 26/11/2008 16:28

Well, I've seen people wearing what I think is an excessive amount of sports wear, but not with the bottoms tucked into the socks! And certainly not with all the bling you guys are describing!

johnworf · 26/11/2008 17:05

The disjointed things on their necks are officially 'clowns'.

Look in any pawn shop and there's hundreds of the buggers. I think they go there to breed.

jeanjeannie · 26/11/2008 19:57

'CLOWNS'.......ARGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!
*runs and hides behind sofa then faints from the thought of them breeding [scared emoticon]

johnworf · 27/11/2008 08:10

Can someone just take me to one side and have a word please?

I'm looking at M&S in their 20% off partywear and I really have no idea why The chances of me going to a party in the near future are twofold; a fat chance and no chance.

Still dark at gone 8am here. I wonder if someone moved the UK closer to Norway whilst we were all asleep.

Tee2072 · 27/11/2008 08:15

JW buy it anyway! Wear it around the house!

And I am shocked every year at how late it stays dark in the morning during the winter and how late it stays light at night during the summer.

johnworf · 27/11/2008 08:16

Just noticed that Bargain Crazy website have a 15% off sale on. There's maternity clothes on there for anyone interested. Not sure that the choice is big but hey ho...

Also Quidco on this site

mrsboogie · 27/11/2008 09:03

I have been looking at party wear on Debenhams site, but I am too fat for any of it,

sigh.

OP posts:
Tee2072 · 27/11/2008 09:08

OH! Debenham's is having 1/2 price on quilts! We so need a new one!

I think I just figured out what I am doing this morning...
