Hell, I've just found out I'm expecting No. 3 mid November, and am very excited. A bit scared too - I can't remember a thing! How can I possibly have done this twice already??? Hope more of you can join me soon!

Monkey and everyone else, congratulations (weird about the coil giving you all those symptoms monkey - thanks for replying on the other thread) Um, off licence profits will drop here too - very early days but can I join in this thread too? I reckon I'll be due in November (if everything's ok, fingers crossed etc) and this will be number 2 for me. Terrified I won't be able to remember anything about how to look after a baby. Actually, I'm just terrified, of all of it. Ds is 5.5 so it all seems a very long time ago...

Tinker · 17/03/2003 19:27

www - you mean? You are? Congratulations Were you 'wondering' about it?

bossykate · 17/03/2003 19:29

fantastic! congratulations, www!

monkey · 17/03/2003 20:23

How exciting, www. I'm so glad you get to be on the same thread. Don't worry about forgetting everything due to big gap. When I was in hospital with ds2 ( a mere 17 months after ds1) I asked so many questions they had to double check I already had 1 child. I think poor ds2 was about 2 days old before someone reminded me you had to wind them! Whoops.

Anyway, quick moan - I am sooooooooooooo tired. It gets to 2 or 3 and I'm wrecked. I am soooooooooooo tired.

jodee · 18/03/2003 08:00

Wow, many congrats Chanel and Monkey! (WWW see other thread!) - (long time no 'see/speak', Chanel, glad to see you on the boards again!)

Marina · 18/03/2003 11:46

Oh Ghosty, was wondering how you were doing. Keep up the practice (it did WWW the world of good, it seems ) and hope to see you on one of these threads soon.

monkey · 19/03/2003 09:51

Thanks Marina ... keeping everything crossed ... well, not everything

whellid · 21/03/2003 13:49

how's everyone doing? much morning sickness/tiredness around? I keep going to bed at 9.30 - 10, which is unheard of for me!
I saw the doctor the other day and have a due date of November 7th. Got a midwife appointment in a week or so's time. Really want to start telling family, but feel I should wait a bit longer. Didn't tell anyone last time till 12 weeks, and then my Mum was upset I hadn't told her earlier! Might tell her after the midwife visit.

WideWebWitch · 21/03/2003 15:29

Oh help, are we meant to be seeing doctors and midwives already?! I'd sort of assumed no-one was very interested until I was more pregnant, but I'm a couple of weeks after you Whellid so maybe so in my case! I can't remember anything about being pregnant last time except that I disliked it intensely. This time seems about the same, yuk. Roll on childbirth (and I never thought I'd hear myself say that)...

whellid · 21/03/2003 15:46

www I think I jumped the gun a bit, just wanted to do something. My Midwife doesn't see people until after 8 weeks for the booking in appointment so you've no rush.

monkey · 21/03/2003 17:34

I'm only going because I like the fuss fuss fuss, plus I sort of m/c with my ist at 6 weeks (say sort of - I lost ds1's twin, so it's wierd cos I still had a baby at the end of 9 months),.

The receptionist said to make the appointment for about 8 weeks, but when I said I was a bit nervous she insisted on getting me in to put my mind at rest, bless her.

Can't wait for Monday morning!

Snap whellid - I'm so knackered. Dear dh is even cooking dinner tonight while I 'talk' to you lot! Isn't he great! (I like to keep my expectations low, and so not get disappointed!)

I went this am to doctors. It was very exciting. He did a scan & I got to see little Schlumpfli beating away. S/he's only 1-2 mm's so he's not sure of my dates - according to lmp & cycle length I'm due 13th November, but Schlumpfli seems to be a week smaller than this so he thinks maybe I ovulated a week later or something. Anyway - definitely only 1 in there! I got my little picture of my blob to look at & go back in 4 weeks. Already put on 2 kilos. Maybe Schlumpfli doesn't need all those jelly teddies after all..

Good luck to the rest of you for your appointments.

whellid · 24/03/2003 11:04

how exciting Monkey! I won't have the first scan till 12 weeks, so a while longer to wait. My trousers are definitely tighter, but we spent the weekend away for dh's birthday so it could be that!

elliott · 27/03/2003 19:36

hello there, mind if I join you?

monkey · 28/03/2003 08:16

hurray - congrats elliot - pleased to see you here. when are you due - do you have a date yet?

OP posts:
sprout · 28/03/2003 09:42

Congratulations, elliot. Join the club! I'm off for an appointment at lunchtime today, so am a bit nervous. Having had an early mc (before conceiving dd) I'm a bit nervous things won't be alright til I've actually seen a tadpole with a heartbeat in there. Dreamed last night there would be two of them: twins really would be a nightmare!

monkey · 28/03/2003 10:30

good luck sprout. I got doc to have a good look round to check for twins. Can't say if I was relieved or disappointed! Let us know how you get on

JayTree · 28/03/2003 10:38

wow - so many of us!! Congratulations to us all!!
I am surprised to see so many of you going to see doctors and midwives so early? With dd1 I was told not to bother them until 12 weeks and then once a month with first proper scan at 20 weeks...(had one earlier than that due to potential mc) Is this not normally the case? Can I request earlier scans? I am unsure with my dates as I think taking my last period start date is inaccurate - I did a negative test on day 35 and only positive by day 40!! Obviously a late ovulation so harder to work it out for sure ( I estimate 13 November). I have changed doctors since my last pregnancy so might give them a ring and find out what they can offer me.

Flick · 28/03/2003 11:11

Congratulations to everyone who is expecting - Ghosty, I am also trying hard, fingers crossed for this month for the both of us! Would be nice to be due before the end of the year...actually, would also be nice to go off on maternity leave again before the end of the year too!!!!
Keep well all of you and enjoy it - before you know it, you will be in your 'blooming stage'!

sprout · 28/03/2003 13:46

Well, just to give you all an update, my appointment went well. Even felt a bit tearful seeing that little heartbeat (well, blame it on the hormones!). Due date is more or less 15 November. So far, so good...
JayTree, have a look at my posting futher down the page (14 March I think) - I'm not in the UK and the way they do scans etc here are different. Maybe someone else can tell you if you can get an earlier appointment.

elliott · 28/03/2003 13:56

hi there. Because this is an IVF pregnancy, I get a scan at 7 weeks at the clinic - if there is a heartbeat I am discharged to the mercies of mainstream NHS care, which in my area means no more scans until 20 weeks I think the majority of areas (certainly all the ones neighbouring me) would provide a 12 week scan, but policy is very variable. Nowhere locally does nuchal scans but they seem to be very common down south.
monkey, my due date should be early Dec (not quite thinking that far ahead yet!) - but if I get to that point, I'll be hoping it doesn't arrive on ds' birthday!!
