morningpaper · 16/07/2008 21:22

This is even more exciting than the time you did a wee in a nappy on the sofa

sherby · 16/07/2008 21:35

huh

WHAT

god where has she gone

perhaps she cant reach

FrannyandZooey · 16/07/2008 22:10

LOL
I may or may not have done some of the things suggested on this thread (dp helpfully came home)

well not much happening really ladies
sorry
am going to call it a night

I have one question
if things do start off how can I hide my MNing from the midwives and the doula? I mean I owe it to you all to give a proper and full account as we go along
they may find it rather odd

OP posts:
sherby · 16/07/2008 22:19

well hope you have a really good labourish night

FabioUnblogged · 16/07/2008 22:19

Franny, hide a laptop in the loo.

And please have this baby very soon, I'm quite worried about morningpaper. I fear she will

a)pee
b)kill
c)hoor
d)all of the above

and be mning from jail/fetish club.

FrannyandZooey · 16/07/2008 22:21

I am trying my best
I could wee in a nappy to take your minds off it while we wait? [old hat]

Tatties · 16/07/2008 22:24

I hope you get a good rest tonight Franny (but maybe get woken by a pop)

FabioUnblogged · 16/07/2008 22:25

There will be good and enough wee-y nappies in your house before long, there is no need to get a headstart.

FrannyandZooey · 16/07/2008 22:27

we more or less have names
I am swithering about the girl's one so that will have to be a bit of "ooh look a Shirley"

OP posts:
FabioUnblogged · 16/07/2008 22:49

"ooh look a Shirley" will also do for a boy

MmeLindt · 16/07/2008 23:01

F&Z
Perhaps the midwife/doulas are MNetters and could do a live feed for us nosy bastards wellwishers.

Hope that something goes pop in the night

MamaG · 16/07/2008 23:26

Franny I wish you a full good nights rest, followed by a swooooooooooosh of waters breaking at 7am. Think thats fair, don't you?

Hatrick - you're going to go into labour on Friday [bossy]

Fabio - welcome to the squad. I'm teh leader of it and I say yes [del monte emoticon]

MamaG · 16/07/2008 23:27

P.S. You had better all come on to an overdue thread for me in November and stroke my fecking ego

robinpud · 16/07/2008 23:42

Am not pregnant, but this is a very amusing thread, especially as I am not pregnant, not tired and fed up and never got to the point of being over due. But I do admire your ability to be sharp and witty all of you when really you are a bit tired and anxious.

Franny - I hope that this child is considerate enough to let you get what passes for a night's sleep before emerging soon.. in the meantime I have an image of MorningPaper, (forever linked withy missiles in my mind) sharpening her shears....

thritbies · 17/07/2008 01:02

I have been in bed all day with 'flu - yep, 'flu in farking July. Just got up for half an hour. First thing I did? Look at this thread! Off back to bed now, hoping none of you overdue people get any sleep (but for being-in-labour reasons)

hatrick- I would have done the same as you. If someone told you Wednesday 17th, you would assume they knew their days of the week- hope you poked her in the eye!

um... I think you'll find that I am the leader of the cheerleader squad... I have experience of being a birth-thread-groupie I'll have you know.

And anyway, when you can do this you can talk about taking over.

franny?

If that baby's still in there, I'm gonna have to eat my hat you know...

fryalot · 17/07/2008 07:32
FrannyandZooey · 17/07/2008 07:42

your body knows exactly how to do it.

your body also knows that, for some completely unfathomable reason, you are not quite ready yet.

You are going to have this baby.
You are going to have this baby soon.
You are going to know what to do when the time comes.
You are going to update us every ten minutes.
You are going to cope wonderfully.
You are going to have a beautiful child.

I promise.

I wish I had some words of advice on what you can actually do but I personally don't believe there is anything to do except watch neighbours (but that does appear to be my answer to everything... cup of tea and Ramsay Street)

In the meantime, have some hat cake

FabioUnblogged · 17/07/2008 08:03

Oh bum, Franny.

I agree with Squonk - your body is not ready yet. Amuse yourself by starting threads on baby names, 'Can I get away with Jesus?' and the like.

Sit back and be entertained at the schism I have caused in the cheerleading squad. So far you would think squonk is winning, what with having cake 'n all.......BUT WHERE IS MY CAKE???

Hatrick that's really crappy about your dh - how much time can he get off after Monday, reduced hours?

jamiesummers · 17/07/2008 08:06

I have been watching this thread avidly for days, wasn't even a member but just had to register to show support for Franny! I am 39 wks with dc4 and have always been at 40+10 over so I KNOW i'm in for the duration just can't hyelp thinkning its only fair i get an early one !! Hope Franny has babe by now xx

sherby · 17/07/2008 08:13

Oh Franny you absolutely do know how to do this

You are already 2cm dilated that's a fifth of the way there

I think it will go really quickly when you do go into labour now, your body is just making sure is it 100% ready to go
