Hi All

Well I'm 7 + 2. Only had my ERPC 10 weeks ago. I had no clue I was pregnant until last Wednesday. I went to the doctor fearing that something wasn't right after ERPC, been having pain and a test still showed positive. She took bloods which revealed that I pregnant, but she put me straight to hospital regarding the pain (thinking it was eptopic). I got put for a scan and got the shock of my life when they said that I was pregnant again and that I was 6+2. Now the thing was, I felt I was being really responsible after the ERPC. I did NOT have unprotected sex (always used condoms), I had my first period 6 weeks after the ERPC, which was infact not a period and I bled two weeks ago for one day only. Last week my Hcg levels were 10,000. Thinking I may have bled due to all the crap my body had been through. I've been so worried that I've fallen pregnant too quickly and its all going to happen over again. Thankfully the hospital have been great and are taking me for another scan a week today to see if they can detect a heartbeat, but obviously I'm not hopeful. I've had constant really strong period pains and every website I go on says that you should defininitely wait for at least one period before falling pregnant. I feel that if I lose this one, I've set myself up for a fall. Obviously the condom burst on us, but I had no idea, we've hardly ever used these as I had always been on the pill. I guess I just wanted to know if this has happend to anybody else and if they managed to get a baby at the end of it.

@AmeliaRass 😊😊 same thing happened to me! I am 13 weeks now and all going well,
I can’t quite believe it! One thing I would say is if you have any spotting don’t immediate panic, I have had 3 occasions of pink, brown and even bright red and all has turned out ok ❤️

Doodles93 · 06/11/2019 16:42

My partner said he thinks I should put off testing so as if we are we don't know so early and will have less time to wait for the big 12 weeks given what happened previously...I don't wanna wait but know what he means! Unless obviously period comes and then we will know anyway!

Congrats to you both above! 🥰 Xx

AmeliaRass · 06/11/2019 19:26

@Doodles93
I totally get you. My husbands the same. He’s just like forget it. Pretend you’re not and time will pass by haha. Just be positive. Always smile. All will be good.

@Helensss thank you, I literally think every ache and pain that happens means I’m miscarrying, it’s anxiety but I’ll get through it. If it’s meant to be it will be.

Good luck you guys :)

I really want to do a test 😩 my nipples are SO flipping sore, only time they've ever been like this was when I was pregnant before. Don't know whether to stick it out like my fiancée said and try wait a few more weeks or just do it 🤦‍♀️ xxxx

Helensss · 08/11/2019 15:22

@Doodles93 I would always try and wait and would always find myself running out to get a test 😂 let us know how you get on! X

@AmeliaRass and @Helensss Hello! Just wanted to pop up and say congrats on your news. I found this thread today as I'm in a right old pickle of confusion and lovely to hear some positive news.

If anyone can advise me - I'd be grateful. Found out I was pregnant on 24th September on day of missed period (after a few weeks of symptoms/spotting) and kept getting positive results until Friday 4th October (then I had back ache on the Saturday), did another test and showed as negative on the Sunday. Really shocked me :( I'd been testing for 'Weeks indicator' rather than expecting a negative. My HCG levels had completely plummeted by the time my doctors bloods came back on 14th October. I had the m/c that week and finished bleeding around 18th/19th October.

It hit me really really hard (especially as 3 work colleagues are all a few weeks/months ahead of where I'd have been and 2 family members just announced they are and EVERYone on social media) so we started trying again around 24th October (Glow app said I'd be ovulating but not sure it takes into account the m/c?).

According to Glow, I'm now 3 days late. Should I base it on what the app is saying (it has my m/c dates included) or should I expect to have AF at the normal time of my cycle before the m/c...which is the end of the month?

I'm trying SO hard to avoid tests/didn't do ovulation tests. But would really appreciate some advice. I don't want to get my hopes up.

Any advice would be hugely welcomed! I've found it hard to find answers online.

Hi @sophia1108 so sorry for your loss, it is a super hard thing to go through hope you are ok!

Hard to know when you should test as it depends when you ovulated following miscarriage... do you have any idea? I knew as I had the egg white cm and sore nipples so when 2 week went by and no period arrived I waited a few day’s and tested with a positive.

I know how hard it is watching everyone get pregnant round you, it’s so tough. I came off the pill in 2017 thinking I would get pregnant straight away, my cycle didn’t settle down for nearly 2 years from the pill and it seemed everyone was getting pregnant around me including my best friend. Then I got pregnant and lost it, got pregnant again.. lost it and now it seems this is my time! So although it is horrible and a very sad time and the dream seems far away, you will get there and it’ll be so worth it when you do! Sorry to ramble I just know how you feel as I was there too Xx

AmeliaRass · 13/11/2019 00:36

Hello @sophia1108

I’m so sorry for what you went through, I feel you I truly do. I only hope the best for you. Keep thoughts positive.

To be honest this post was the only relevant information I found and has kept me sane somewhat!! I have a dating scan November 22nd to figure it all out but I’ll update you because it means 8 days after I miscarried I got pregnant which I found unbelievable and still do. Just look at the signs, update us :) I hope it’s good news xxx

Doodles93 · 19/11/2019 23:23

Tested this evening finally and there it is 🥰 very happy. Not a clue how many weeks, no idea when I ovulated, all I know is we had our miscarriage 6 weeks and 2 days ago. Going to do a clear blue tomorrow hopefully get a rough idea of gestation to take to the GP to ask for an early scan when around 7 weeks :)

@Doodles93 😀😀😀 I think you may also be on the May time fb group I’m on looking at that pic, congrats again! Xx

Doodles93 · 20/11/2019 08:41

Haha how funny! I certainly am 🥰🥰🥰 thank you!! Xx

sophia1108 · 20/11/2019 15:13

@Helensss @AmeliaRass

Hi ladies, thank you both SO much for your lovely replies. I've only just managed to get back on, Mumsnet had to reset my password as it wasn't working.

Since I last posted...I got my BFP! I am in complete shock! I tested on Friday - immediate, very strong positive line. And have tested again today (as I'm out in the US with work and jet lag has been making me feel weird so just wanted to check again). And again - super quick, super strong positive.

So looks like it's happening again! Feels different this time, I feel more relaxed, had less immediate symptoms - just some breast tenderness and back ache - not pleasant but less nausea etc at this stage. Very early days - looks like I got pregnant the week after I had the bleed from the previous one. Crazy quick! But keeping everything crossed!

Thanks again for your lovely replies and sorry it's taken me so long. Here's hoping it's our time! xx

I’m so very happy for you both! I had my first scan today and I’m sat here in shock. I love this thread. Good luck to every single one of you ♥️♥️

AmeliaRass · 21/11/2019 21:58

and by shock I mean happy shock, sorry if I scared you! It’s a beautiful thing.

Helensss · 22/11/2019 10:49

Congratulations everyone!!! Good news all round

@AmeliaRass it’s the weirdest feeling isn’t it, I felt like I was in some sort of dream in my 1st scan xxx

Mammacooks · 29/11/2019 15:57

I’ve just found this thread which has given me lots of hope after my recent miscarriage experience. We sadly found out (at what we thought was 9week scan) that baby hadn’t developed past 6weeks. I had (failed) medical management 2weeks ago and then an ERPC yesterday. Hoping to start TTC in two weeks but no idea when I would ovulate or what I count as CD1. Any advice very welcome. Fingers crossed x

MilsCookie · 18/12/2019 16:31

Hey all. How is everyone getting on?

@Mammacooks so sorry to hear of your loss. The same thing happened to me - had an ERPC on 30th Nov after failed medical management. I did a pregnancy test on 12th Dec and it was negative (although if you squinted you could see the tiniest faintest line). I’m going to test again tomorrow and hopefully it will have gone. We had unprotected sex yesterday and today but I don’t think I have ovulated (although no idea!) I also have no idea what cycle day I am on as I don’t know when to start counting from. I started bleeding small amounts on 25th November so I guess I could start counting from then? So that would make it CD22 today. Literally no idea what’s going on with my body so just going with the flow! How are you doing? 💐 xx

sophia1108 · 18/12/2019 17:10

Hey @milsCookie

I'm on week 9 of my pregnancy straight after my m/c in October. Had no period, just the miscarriage around 10th October and got pregnant the following week (had sex twice!). I'm still in shock to be honest!! I've been riddled with anxiety, had a scan at 6 weeks, and 8 weeks..heard the heartbeat and just had another one today! Baby is growing and all on track but I still can't believe I've been so lucky, so I'm not taking anything for granted.
My 12 week scan is on the 6th Jan, so very excited to hopefully have a nice healthy pregnancy still at that stage and I MIGHT start to relax.
Hopefully my story can be one of hope for people as I felt so low and sad after my m/c. But it can happen..keeping everything crossed this is my little bean! Wishing you lots of luck xx

MilsCookie · 19/12/2019 13:52

@sophia1108 hey lovely, thanks so much for replying. What a lovely story, I’m so happy for you!! That’s amazing that you got pregnant again so quickly.
I think it’s completely normal to be anxious after having a m/c, I know I will be a nervous wreck if I manage to get pregnant again and think I’ll get some counselling to help me through it. Having a baby is tougher than I thought!
Good luck to you for the rest of your pregnancy, I hope it goes really well and that your mind can be put at ease at the 12 week scan! Xxx

Mammacooks · 24/12/2019 09:17

@MilsCookie so sorry for the slow response. I’m am doing okay, up and down! Very hard to distract yourself when it is constantly on your mind I find. And the lack of control over conceiving again as I have no idea what my cycle is doing. Still no period, nearly 6weeks from medical management and nearly 4weeks from ERPC, so I think that is fairly normal. Will try and get through the next week or so and hope I either get a period or preferably (though seems impossible right now!) a BFP. Very annoying not knowing re ovulation. How are you doing?
@sophia1108 such wonderful news, congratulations! X

Mammacooks · 24/12/2019 09:19

@sophia1108 if you don’t mind me asking, when did you do a pregnancy test and get your BFP? I don’t want to start testing too early or indeed become obsessed with doing tests. But I know if I don’t get my period in the next couple of weeks my doctor will ask me to do one.

MilsCookie · 24/12/2019 11:31

@Mammacooks glad to hear you’re doing okay. I agree, the hardest part is distracting yourself. Any time I’m alone with my thoughts it’s all I think about!
I’m also waiting for my period to return. If I count the first day I started ‘bleeding’ from my miscarriage (it was only brown dc so not sure if that counts) then today I am on CD30. If I count it from the day I had the ERPC then I am on CD25. So I know I’ll be at least another week or so before I should expect anything. We have been having unprotected sex since 16th December so I suppose there is a slight chance I could be pregnant but I’m not getting my hopes up. @sophia1108 I would also be keen to hear when you did your pregnancy test as I will probably test in about a week if AF hasn’t arrived!

Merry Christmas to you all! 🎄🎅🏻 xxx

Mammacooks · 24/12/2019 11:53

@MilsCookie very similar timeframe to me. Though I have no idea whether I count from the ERPC or from the medical management on 14th November, which passed the vast majority I just had the tiniest bit of retained tissue hence the need for the ERPC on 28th. Annoying!
We too have had unprotected sex 3-4 times in the past couple of weeks so there is a possibility though I am very doubtful and very much not getting my hopes up either! I think I will also do a pregnancy test in a week if I haven’t got my period. It really is so hard when you just want to move on and get back on track. Is this your first pregnancy @MilsCookie?
We have a 22month Old which is a great distraction though I would love to get pregnant ASAP so the age gap is still small ish.
Have a wonderful Christmas and here’s to some happy news for us both soon! X

MilsCookie · 24/12/2019 12:34

@Mammacooks I’m not sure when you would count it from either. Although possibly from the start of your bleeding? But then I’ve read that your body doesn’t start getting back into a regular cycle if your HCG levels are still high. As you had some retained tissue maybe your HCG hadn’t dropped yet? I did a pregnancy test two weeks after the surgery and there was still a teeny faint line showing positive. I did another one a week after that and it was a clear BFN, so my levels took 3 weeks to drop. That was only one week ago so I literally have no idea what to expect. It is so hard like you say because you just want to get back into a rhythm!
Yes this will be my first baby. I’m so sad that my first pregnancy didn’t work out as it just means I won’t be able to enjoy or relax throughout the next one. I was so chilled out and thought it would be ok and that a mc ‘wouldn’t happen to me’ - especially as I thought I had got to 12 weeks! How naive I was! Now I know that it can happen I will be so anxious next time. Argh it’s such a stressful time!

That’s lovely you have a 22 month old 😊 I totally understand wanting to have a small age gap - I would want the same!!

Have a lovely day tomorrow and would be good to keep in touch regarding our TTC journeys. Fingers crossed our rainbow babies come along in 2020! 🌈 💫 xxx

Mammacooks · 24/12/2019 13:17

@MilsCookie yes I did a test on 8th December and very clearly a negative. Which is something at least! Though very odd feeling hoping for a negative isn’t it but at least that means hopefully our cycles are gearing back up ready for next time.
How many weeks were you?
I too was very relaxed and perhaps naive. I had the easiest pregnancy with my daughter and like you thought it wouldn’t happen to me. BUT we just have to keep remembering how very common it is. I thought I was 9 weeks had only just found out a week or so before as my period had been late for a couple of months due to house move etc etc stress of lots going on, and we weren’t really “trying” as such so I thought it was very unlikely. Anyway, I had a scan at 9weeks to find baby was measuring only 6weeks with no heartbeat. Just the most horrendous thing isn’t it.
Really wishing us both some happy happy news for 2020. I don’t think I will be able to get it out of my mind until I’m pregnant again, despite trying to be relaxed about it....! X
