Hey, anyone else due July 2026? I got my first faint positive at 10dpo on Thursday 23rd October, I’m now 14dpo/4 weeks pregnant. Feeling nervous as still very early my period was due tomorrow. I’ve booked an early scan for in a few weeks so hopefully everything is all good, now just an anxious wait

I am struggling so much with tiredness. I feel like every day is such a mental and physical battle. 1st trimester is really getting to me this time around

PolarJadeite · 17/12/2025 14:27

@Allsignsfunnily enough I didnt know I was pregnant this time until 6 weeks, as I'd had what I thought was just a short period (I am still breastfeeding and my periods hadn't come back properly yet anyway), so I'm hoping its just a repeat of whatever that was!
I had a scan to date me too so I know the bubs was ok after the last bout of spotting

PolarJadeite · 17/12/2025 14:28

@Allsigns also with the cravings/aversions, I'm not veggie but don't eat meat much at all these days, but I'm craving stuff like ham, cocktail sausages etc a lot. Also completely off sugary things and absolutely off coffee!

Allsigns · 17/12/2025 13:56

The food aversions/cravings are fascinating me this week! Usually I'm a veggie with a real sweet tooth, but for the last two months I've not wanted anything remotely sugary (not even squash in water!) and I am loving beef. I've never liked red meat, even as a child, so this is very strange. I keep seeing things I'd usually love to eat and my brain goes 'mm I'd love a mince pie' but then very swiftly followed by my body going 'don't even think about it!!'.

It's all rather bizarre how swiftly and extremely things can change isn't it? Making me wonder if it's another boy as I wanted salads with my son and all the sweet treats with my daughter. We're keeping it as a surprise though, so long time till we find out!

Anyone else having aversions/cravings?

The aversions and cravings are crazy! Opposite of you, even the thought of beef turns my stomach and usually we eat it 4 nights a week or more! My new craving is salt and vinegar crisps, when I eat them the nausea goes away for a second and then returns. Also starting to crave really fresh things like fruit juice and grapes etc

LargeJugs · 17/12/2025 15:14

I’m here with the aversions. I’m gagging at my toothpaste so I’m currently using my child’s berry toothpaste which I’ve always hated 🤣

I am usually a big soup, curry and chilli eater - nope. None of thanks.

blossomhoney2 · 17/12/2025 17:11

We have the results of our nipt test, everything is looking good.. also found out we are having another boy šŸ’™ I’m super happy my son will have a brother to play diggers with, a little bit apprehensive about the mess and energy that boys bring! But I’m sure it’ll be fun!

Clarysjb · 17/12/2025 17:13

Had some light spotting today (red not brown) if it continues how long should I wait before contacting the EPU? I already have a private scan booked tomorrow when I’ll be 8 weeks. Trying not to worry as it seems so many people experience this and usually nothing to worry about.

I’m similar with sweet foods! Normally I fancy something sweet after lunch in particular (probably ready for the afternoon slump!) but all I want at the moment is savoury!! I can take or leave anything sweet, not really tempted at all! Also wondered if it’s a boy as I’ve heard the same 🤣

also, anyone got pets that are super needy? My lab keeps coming and sitting with me, putting her head on my tummy 🄹 wonder if they can sense it

Just gone early with a pregnancy pillow! Found a bbhugme one for Ā£45 on Vinted! 🤣 I thought it might help getting used to sleeping on my side and I’ve already found I’m just a bit uncomfortable generally on a night, even without a bump yet, so anything that helps!

If concerned, call them. They’ll advise.

Aww lovely! I already have a little boy and I’d love another boy. Would also be happy with a girl too! So I’m pretty 50-50

Has anyone else got an inkling on gender? For some reason I feel like I’m having a girl

Everybody else has decided I’m having a boy šŸ˜‚ got my nipt on Saturday anyway so will know by new year, pros and cons to both imo and it’ll be my only child.

Bumblebee413 · 17/12/2025 18:33

I can’t help but wonder if it’s a boy this time. I’ve got two little girls and symptoms have arrived later and been far, far milder. I don’t know if that means anything?

blossomhoney2 · 17/12/2025 18:48

I had massive cravings for salty and savory snacks.. also with ivf the chances of having boys are higher so I had a feeling it was probably another boy.
i have no experience of girls and probably won’t now l, but I will say from my experience with a boy they love you incredibly fiercely and they love a good cuddle 🄹 definitely loads of energy too - it’s a whirlwind. 😊

AmberRose26 · 17/12/2025 21:31

Most of my food cravings have gone now but when I hit week 7 ish all I wanted was meat , I ate steak and pork etc for dinner every night for a few days then I totally went off anything meat , even just thinking of meat had me gagging, had really bad nausea after that until the end of week 10 then it all went and I feel normal now šŸ˜µā€šŸ’« hope it’s not a bad sign .. I will be 12 weeks on Friday so I do know symptoms can drop around now.

We found out we are having a girl 🩷 we got a gender blood test through window of the womb at 10 weeks. They can do them as early as 6 weeks.

souiii · 17/12/2025 23:20

We are off to our scan tomorrow morning, fingers crossed little bean happy and healthy

nekophoenix · 17/12/2025 23:47

Allsigns · 17/12/2025 13:49

@PolarJadeite fingers crossed for you! Appreciate it's very anecdotal but I've had some spotted and everything was fine, had something where the cells were appearing on the outside of the cervix which apparently can be very normal. Was just told to avoid horse riding and sex till at least 12 weeks.

With my first pregnancy I didn't even realise I was pregnant as I was having what I thought were periods (I didn't track anything back then and was living a manic life so the fact that my cycle suddenly became longer/shorter/more sporadic didn't even register) right up until about 18 weeks. Was a big surprise to realise I was in fact almost 4 months pregnant!!

Oh wow - 18 weeks! Can I ask if you opted for screening and if so, what you did at that late stage? My midwife said I can request NIPT at my (late) 12 week scan which will be post 14 weeks due to me being overseas but I am a bit anxious about it all being so late on, and perhaps needing to book in the NIPT at that appointment for weeks afterwards (and it not actually happening at that scan). Whatever happens, we will get it sorted, it’s just one more thing to worry about eh!

nekophoenix · 17/12/2025 23:56

Hi everyone - hope you’re all doing okay!

From my side, totally agree on the being off coffee and, now, meat is out. I’m thankful as I’m finally enjoying salads and veggies again so feel good to get some nutrition. Usually a sweet tooth and neutral at best towards choc and dessert now too.

I’ve had no spotting but definitely more aches and cramps down there and in my lower stomach. I had a scan at 11+2 and all was well so trying not to worry.

Also, for those considering taking meds - I have been taking Restavit (doxyalamine succinate) and wow does it knock me out. Within 30 minutes of taking at night my eyes are closing and it definitely makes me groggy the next day, so not ideal, and doesn’t combat the worst nausea (I’ve been sick in the morning despite having taken it…). I’m only going to take it when things are bad to take the edge off the nausea as it’s giving old school Night Nurse vibes!

I’m totally off coffee, the smell makes me gag if my husband makes one! Also no salad or veggies which I feel terrible about!! I had a ham and cheese croissant from Starbucks yesterday and it was the best thing I’ve eaten for a while šŸ˜‚ also getting cravings for the Dairylea Lunchables I used to like in primary school! 🤣

I can't really remember now, was a while ago! I mostly remember just being on some sort of conveyor belt of appointments and doing anything I was told to without overthinking much so I expect we probably did all the tests available at the time. I've not heard the term NIPT until this pregnancy though tbh. Is it something that'll happen at the 12 week appointment? I don't think we've been offered it before, just the edwards, patau's and downs tests.

My understanding is that NIPT is usually the second round of testing after the initial tests as it can be done later in pregnancy, but seeing as we are missing the dates for the first rounds (the only option left for us would be the quadruple test which I understand only tests for Downs, with the 20 week scan showing any Edwards or Patau’s abnormalities), we are considering going straight to a self-funded NIPT to put our minds at rest!

souiii · 18/12/2025 12:07

Well it's not good news. Supposed to be 8 weeks but measuring 6 and no yolk sac or heartbeat. Going back for a follow up scan just after Christmas but very likely that this pregnancy is lost.

Wishing everyone a happy and healthy pregnancy. Hopefully my turn will come around soon

EllieWales · 18/12/2025 13:05

Oh my gosh @souiii I’m so sorry, that’s devastating. It seems unfair to wait until after Christmas for a follow up scan, I hope you’re doing as ok can be x

blossomhoney2 · 18/12/2025 13:06

So so sorry @souiiii really hope you’re ok. šŸ’I hope your turn comes very soon. Sending lots of love your way. Hope your husband is looking after you šŸ’œ

I just had my 12 week scan and combined screening thing. I was just sent down to have a blood test after, pretty sure the nhs won’t pay out for the nipt unless that comes back high risk.
