@magpie234hey! Glad to see things are all going well for you! I've got a headache today, didn't think it could be hormone related but it makes sense. Yes I'm pretty nervous about coming off the progesterone. I hated it but it's also a bit of a crutch I guess.

Nosejug · 04/11/2025 20:33

Eep, had a sudden small gush this morning. Feeling pretty nervous about what it will mean. I’ve had no spotting up until that and no bleeding since, but obvs not great. I’m assuming no one here has had something similar? I’ve miscarried before but it was spotting and a slow build up. I’ve just got to wait and see I guess!

pastelheart · 05/11/2025 10:45

@Nosejughow many weeks are you now? Have you reached out to your clinic or EPU? Sorry I haven’t had this but I hope you are okay xxx

I agree with Pastel - I would contact someone and get checked

Nosejug · 05/11/2025 13:43

Oh yes don’t worry I did! Thanks @pastelheart qnd @dubkitten . With two previous mcs I get what I pretend to myself is the equivalent of special treatment at my epu heh. I talked it through and she said if I felt ok we could just keep my date for tomorrow but that we’d have a low threshold for me calling them if anything changed. I had a scan last week at 5+5 and they saw gest and yolk sac, and a tiny fetal pole (1.2mm) and potentially cardiac activity-she said something was catching her eye, but she didn’t want to commit. At the time she said at 5+5 she’d expect a hb but everything I read online seems to say it’s ok for not quite yet. Either way, I’ll know what’s what tomorrow 🙏

magpie234 · 05/11/2025 13:51

@Nosejug Just sending all best wishes for your scan tomorrow and really hope all is OK. I can imagine the anxiety especially affer previous losses. 💕

Nosejug · 05/11/2025 14:08

You know @magpie234 with everything I’ve been through in the last couple of years outside of fertility stuff too) my anxiety isn’t unmanageable right now. I’m well trained in disappointment! A too soft word for it of course.

magpie234 · 05/11/2025 17:02

@Nosejug In that case I am sorry for everything you have been through and I hope there is no disappointment tomorrow 🤞🏻

pastelheart · 06/11/2025 08:42

@Nosejug I hope you are okay and have had no more bleeding. I also hope your scan goes amazing today. I am thinking of you and will keep checking for your update 🩷

guys I’m not in a good way, sickness is constant atm. I have just been down to the shop and bought ginger sweets, ginger ale, ginger biscuits, peppermint tea… I hate all these things but I am open to trying anything. Also going to be a lovely video of me on the ring doorbell retching outside the house for about 10 mins… but at least I wasn’t actually sick

we also booked our private gender scan last night, it’s 11th Dec and I’m so excited!

@pastelheart Ohhhh it is so horrible. How many weeks are you now? Mine was the same from 6-12 and then I woke up on the first day of 13 and felt a lot better. Not amazing or the same as pre-preg but like I could actually live my life again. So I hope the same happens for you! I was terrified my sickness would never get better until birth and so surprised when it actually did so fingers crossed. I am actually enjoying food now!

Exciting about the scan. Ours is two weeks today. Not really going to find out the sex - more because we want a reassurance checkup between the NHS ones. But it will be fun to find out as a hopeful bonus on top! Do you have a preference? I have none but my instinct is saying girl. However before getting preg I always thought I would be a boy mum so 🤷‍♀️.

dubkitten · 06/11/2025 11:33

Best of luck today @Nosejug

Hopefully those of you suffering with sickness will feel better soon! I escaped the actual committing but I had constant nausea until 15 weeks 😫 I still wake up each morning feeling nauseous but usually goes now once I eat

dubkitten · 06/11/2025 12:11

Just finished my 30w check up with the GP. Said blood pressure is a little high and a small amount of protein in my urine but as I am feeling fine and no other symptoms it is just something to keep an eye on. Got to hear baby’s heartbeat with the Doppler and he said all sounds well.

pastelheart · 06/11/2025 12:37

@magpie234i am 10 weeks today! 1/4 of the way! I really hope I am the same as you and feel better in a few weeks 🩷

how many weeks are you now? It’s so hard to keep track isn’t it! I have no preference but I have an instinct like you that it’s a girl. I knew my son was a boy as soon as I found out and I always thought my second would be another boy but as soon as I found out this time, I thought girl. So much like you too!

@dubkitten I am so hopeful my sickness gets better soon. I had no sickness with my first pregnancy so this came as a shock! I’m glad your 30 week check went well and so lovely you heard the heart beat. When is your next appt? Hopefully your BP and urine is still okay at your next appt x

Oh so sorry to hear about the terrible sickness @pastelheart :( I hope some of your ginger items help. I actually had a little sick this morning (which I took as an encouragement!) I hope yours gets better soon.

i had a bit more blood this morning which dropped my heart and hope, but just had an abdominal scan and the heartbeat was detected right away, so that’s good. It was only measuring 2.6 as opposed to 7 days ago at 1.2, however that was a tv scan. She said to ignore the numbers at this stage. So I’ll do my best to… 😬 * Google google •

thanks everyone for the well wishes, it means a lot when you’re thinking it’s all over.

pastelheart · 06/11/2025 12:51

@Nosejug omg the best news seeing a heartbeat! I am so pleased 🩷🩷 I hope you have no more bleeding and no more worries xxx

I am back with the maternity hospital in 2 weeks. My appointments now are every two weeks alternating between the GP and the maternity hospital

Glad they seen the heartbeat. When are you back? I would advise staying away from Google

SamVan · 06/11/2025 13:45

@Nosejug I had one large gush and two smaller gushes of blood/fluid and all has been fine with my baby so I hope it all works out for you! It is truly terrifying when it happens. The first time it was all over the floor and I thought it was over but that was at 11 and 14 weeks and I'm 17 weeks now and all good.

magpie234 · 06/11/2025 15:19

@Nosejug So relieved for you about the heartbeat and hope all continues to be fine.

@pastelheart Oh 10 weeks is the absolute trenches! I felt terrible them. I am sure you will at least feel a lot better than you do now hopefully soon. I am 15 weeks on Friday. Still getting tired much more quickly and having a few digestive issues and aches/pains but not too much to complain about really atm!

CloudyIvy55 · 06/11/2025 17:10

@magpie234do you have any very mild cramps or an uncomfortable feeling in your belly now and again? I have been and they freak me out every time having had a miscarriage before. I tell myself that I'm growing a human and therefore I'm going to feel it!

magpie234 · 06/11/2025 18:54

@CloudyIvy55 Yes! Some mild cramping and ligament pain - I googled (obv) and is called round ligament pain from the uterus stretching. There is also a hormone called relaxin that increases in preg that causes your ligaments and muscles to relax so it can all feel a bit off round there. I said to my husband I was starting to feel a bit like a slinky - I move and then the rest catches up with me afterwards 😅

Round ligament pain is a bitch! I have to hold my tummy every time I sneeze so it doesn’t kill me 😂😂 the worse is in bed when I stretch

CloudyIvy55 · 06/11/2025 20:42

@magpie234 and @dubkitten yes it's horrible! I had a cold last week and could feel it in my stomach when I coughed...horrible! So reassuring when you hear other people are experiencing the same. I googled it and it said round ligament pain normally starts a bit later on, so I wasn't sure if it was that or not.

Mine started during the first trimester. I got a fright the first time it happened as it was so sore
