Yeah just me and the cat as the girls in the house now. Got to stick together 😅 hats off to you as I’m so impatient and would need to know now. Nothing better feeling the little movements! Xx

We went for a reassurance scan today. I got stuck in traffic and was late so I was sure they wouldn’t see me but they did! Baby is measuring about right at 15+3 and was wriggling around so much the poor sonography couldn’t get a good picture - he was trying so hard but I wasn’t bothered. I just wanted to see that little heartbeat going ❤️ It’s incredible what you can see, isn’t it?! We saw the brain, spine, toe bones, all sorts!

Confusedmermaid1 · 20/07/2025 07:48

I’m 14 and a half weeks and already shocked by how pregnant I look/feel 😅 I’m guessing the bump is still mostly bloat, especially because I’m still taking progesterone but I’m already using a pillow to support it in the night otherwise it’s uncomfortable.

Does anyone have any pregnancy pillow recommendations? I’ve seen a few threads on here that recommend one which is £135-150 which just feels so expensive. I’m a side sleeper anyway and probably wouldn’t use the pillow under my head because I’m fussy about my pillows 😂.

Moosey898 · 20/07/2025 08:47

After a 7h flight and an 18hr work day basically stood in one position, last night I got horrible legs cramps that kept waking me up and then this pain in the top of my foot. Eventually went away but now I'm panicking about blood clots. Got the return flight today, would I be being silly to phone the midwife helpline when I'm back? My mum had a DVT at my age and I really don't want anything to harm this pregnancy after all we've been through to get here 😭

Not sure if anyone has even thought about yet how they gonna feed baby. But the last couple days I’ve been thinking about combi feeding, I ebf last time but the mental strain I felt don’t want to fully ebf this time round. But I have no idea where to even start combi feeding. Does anyone have any advice?

I brought this one from Amazon but not sure if you like it as it goes under the pillow. I’m funny with pillows but this has been fine!

Hi everyone, hope you're all having a lovely weekend!

I have my 12 week scan tomorrow (I'll be 13+2) but strangely I've had no appointment letter or anything about it - I only know it's tomorrow because I rang up to ask after not hearing anything following the booking appointment, and I've also had a text reminder for it. From googling I think I'm supposed to have a full bladder for it, but then other sites have said empty! Does anyone know please? Im thinking I could go with full and just go for a wee when I get there if they want empty😅

Is there any other info you're usually given before a 12 week scan that I should know about/would have been on the letter? Thank you X

Full bladder for your scan. You need an empty one if they’re doing an internal scan with the wand but I can’t see why you’d need that at 13 weeks if you go with a full bladder. My letter said to drink a pint of water an hour before the appointment.

@RealTealQueen ah thank you that's so helpful to know the amount to drink! 😊 Hope I can manage to hold it🤣🤣

Yes definitely a full bladder. Also take your white folder too because they will fill stuff in it. And if you've agreed to the screening they will take your bloods too. Unless its different where ypu live. I also got my 20 week ap there and then at the 12 week scan xx

@Jadeypie oh thats so helpful thank you!! Yep I've agreed to the screening so think theyre doing my bloods after the scan 😊 so good you get your 20w scan date then too, I hope mine is the same!

Do you find out the NT result verbally in the room, or do they not say anything and it comes in a letter with the blood results? Sorry lots of questions, so anxious today 😅x

Oh i totally get it with the nerves!! No they don't give any results. They will put a letter in your file with the scan info like the measurements of the neck thing ( crnt think what its called) then a letter in the post about two weeks later with the blood results xx

Mine told me during the scan that the neck fluid looked “perfect” so that reassured us. The blood test results just appeared on my app a week or so later. I didn’t get any other communication

When i was doing my midwifery course I was taught all formulas are the same. I'm going to get the mamia aldi one due to this.
I'm getting mam bottles mainly based on the fact I got a free one at a scan Grin

Yeh tbh that makes sence, suppose all formula would have to have the same ingredients. My friend recommended mam bottles xx

Awh how lovely to hear the heartbeat!

I don’t have experience in taking progesterone for the reason you mention but I have been on it since 6 weeks due to a history of loss.

Personally at around 10ish weeks I switched from vaginal to rectal use. This was after over a week of spotting (scan confirmed baby was good and couldn’t see a cause for the bleeding).

I’ve also found it a lot cleaner using it this way compared to vaginally. You’re supposed to lie down for 20-30mins following insertion vaginally and it still feels like soo much ‘falls’ out. Panty liners were too thin to manage it so I was wearing pads daily which wasn’t the most comfortable (I’m not generally a pad person though). I’ve found rectally so much easier to manage for time and cleanliness.

Other than that I’ve got basically no experience of pregnancy without taking it as I have taken it in 3 pregnancies (2 ended at approx 9 weeks so only taking it around 3 weeks in those ones) so I’m not sure how it impacts symptoms but I’ve experienced a lot of bloating and really painful boobs but obviously these can be common pregnancy symptoms anyway! I hope that it causes you minimal discomfort and that it helps with your cervix 🤞🏼

Thank you so much for the info ☺️ she said about spotting, that's what i don't want! I will find it triggering because I've lost two myself. I will try vaginally this week because thats what she said to do but if that way causes anything I will speak to my midwife I have her next Monday. But thank you again xx
