Scan this morning unfortunately showed things have got worse. Off to theatre at some point this morning to see if there's anything they can do but the consultant said it's not looking good 😔

Hope theatre goes well today and they can do something. Thinking of you xx

@Moosey898 really hope things move in the right direction. Sending you lots of positive energy xxxx keep us updated, we are here to listen x

Thanks everyone. Well, they managed to get a stitch in somehow, apparently there was only half a cm of cervix to work with but the consultant managed. I think they were also surprised they were able to do anything as there was a lot of sac protruding through the cervix they had to carefully get back inside without rupturing.

So it's still very much a case of take each day as it comes, but I'm now on hospital bed red (still with catheter) for as long as we can possibly keep baby in. If I get to 22+ weeks then the consultant will speak to a partner hospital that has a high grade NICU and sometimes takes babies as early as 22 weeks to see if they can move me there so I'm in the right place for when baby does make an appearance. For now, just praying little one can sit tight where it is safe and warm for as long as possible!x

So glad you’ve had a positive outcome today, take everyday at a time and follow their instruction - if they say bed rest, ensure you take bed rest - it’s surprisingly difficult to do.

Also, I know a lively 18 year old born at 24 weeks, so if baby does have to make an early appearance they can do amazing things in nicu x

Delighted to hear they could do the stitch. So is that you in hospital now until the baby arrives?

Brilliant outcome. Glad you had that consultant! Fingers and toes crossed that baby stays warm and comfy inside for as long as possible, but also good that they sound to have a plan in place to get you to the ‘right’ people depending if/how early things happen

Oh my gosh @Moosey898 what a rollercoaster you've been on. So pleased to hear your update and they could put a stitch in. How many weeks are you now?

Gizmo1983 · 02/09/2025 17:37

Confusedmermaid1 · 02/09/2025 18:30

So glad they managed to get a stitch in for you @Moosey898
Crossing everything that baby stays put for as long as possible! 🤞🏼

Moosey898 · 02/09/2025 19:17

Thanks everyone. I'm 21+5 today. And yup that's me in hospital lying flat in a bed now until baby comes! Whenever that may be.

First time ever I'm praying for a 6 week+ stay in hospital.

@Gizmo1983 thank you for sharing. The consultant said if we want to conceive again they'd do the stitch abdominally, so permanent pre conception, with a definite c section at the end. Good to know I guess, frustrating these things can't be predicted before they happen the first time. Hope you're doing ok? x

Glad you've managed some sleep!! Do you get your own room? Is your partner allowed to stay? You've gone through alot these last few days make sure you get plenty of mental rest. I can imagine it to be tough confined to a bed but needs must and all! Get yourself a really good long box set xxx

Unfortunately it's bad news. Having to deliver today and no chance of keeping baby alive. We are utterly heartbroken and devastated. Really thought this was our turn after 4 missed miscarriages. The world is so incredibly cruel 💔
