I'm still having significant amounts of spotting a full week after my last internal examination. I don't know what to do....I only went to triage last Sunday and I had my scan Wednesday but I'm so scared something is wrong, especially as I still don't feel any movement 😥

Did they say at all what might be causing your spotting? I would give them another call for reassurance.

TigerLily38 · 31/08/2025 14:10

Hi ladies, please could someone advise/reassure me😥 just been to the toilet and had some discharge afterwards that was a little stretchy/jelly like, like ewcm. I'm so terrified that it could be part of the mucus plug and I'm currently away, home tomorrow 😭 but could go home today if needed.

Has anyone else had this and it wasnt the plug? I'm 19+5 and so so so scared 😥 xx

Nope - maybe a sensitive cervix, so I'm wondering if I give it more time to settle down? It's all just overwhelming and I can't help but catastrophise.

I've had this type of discharge throughout, it should be ok. If you're worried you can get it checked out. If you get any more take photos as at least at my hospital it can help (as they might not see the exact same discharge when they examine you).

I’ve had this throughout pregnancy and also had it in my last pregnancy. From what I’ve understood, it’s just a normal pregnancy discharge, along with the more milky white discharge that’s common too. I’m 19
weeks now too xx

dubkitten · 01/09/2025 15:27

@Moosey898 how you doing? Did you get checked or just going to wait for your scan?

Moosey898 · 01/09/2025 16:29

@dubkitten well I'm glad I came in, it's not good news. I've been admitted on total bed rest (catheter in and bed tilted head down). The membrane sac is protruding out of the cervix. On progesterone and having a scan in the morning to see exactly how far out it's protruding. The goal is to get it back inside and do a rescue stitch. But the consultant has said I'll need a lot of luck. I'm devastated.

I am so, so sorry. I am crossing everything for you that they are able to get the sac back in and then the rescue stitch put in. Sending you love xx

Moosey898 · 01/09/2025 18:02

Thank you everyone. I just can't believe it, especially after everything else that we've already been through, and that everything was fine at my scan on Wednesday!
Currently learning to eat whilst lying down which is oh so much fun...

I’m 19 weeks almost and my belly has started to get tight feeling and hard when I’m just walking (walking 10 mins from work to the train today). Not painful at all but tight feeling. Is this braxton hicks? I never experienced them with my first pregnancy so not really sure what they are or feel like?

Oh that sounds scary and miserable @Moosey898 but glad they’re taking care of you. Rest up and I hope they’re able to do the stitch very soon!

TigerLily38 · 01/09/2025 22:57

I get these, Was suprised to get them so early. I get them mostly if walking or carrying shopping bags. They dont hurt just tight and hard. I also never got them with my first. They do make me panic but I would say it doesnt happen often, Maybe twice a week or something xxx

curliegirlie · 02/09/2025 08:45

I was born at 28 weeks and my mum had another baby before me who was born at 24 weeks (who sadly didn’t survive, but this was 44 or 45 years ago…), but with my younger siblings she had a stitch each time and they did their job until they were removed, so they were born at 37 weeks and 39 weeks! They truly are life changing (literally).

How are you this morning? When is your scan today? Thinking of you.

Moosey898 · 02/09/2025 09:25

Scan this morning unfortunately showed things have got worse. Off to theatre at some point this morning to see if there's anything they can do but the consultant said it's not looking good 😔
