Sorry no tips on the cramps! Hopefully just sporadic and die down for you. Would highly recommend a nuby rapid cool over the prep machine - it’s a life saver and you can take it out and about with you and can be easily sterilised x

I’ve been looking at the nuby rapid cool. Do you do the hot shot method or use it another way? I’ve never had one before and I’ve seen so many videos, but still confused about the best way to use it to get the most out of it. So any tips would be much appreciated 😊

Is anybody experiencing headaches? I’m almost 19 weeks and keep getting headaches on and off :(

Yes frequent headaches and the odd migraine here. I think it’s common around the 16-20 week mark.

Yes we did hot shot method and no issues with it. Just be sure to give the formula a really good stir (stir the bottle like swill it around to reduce bubbles) so it all dissolves fully.

Honestly, it is on of the best inventions. I’ll probably buy a second one (if BF unsuccessful again) for the early days given the frequency of feeds. The nuby needs 3 hours between uses to get back down to starting temperature.

Thank you that’s a massive help 😊 I’m looking at buying the double set too from the reviews. How do you sterilise yours? X

I was really struggling with headaches. Going to sleep with them, waking up with them. I’m 23 weeks now and they seem to have eased up. I feel for you they are horrible! Hopefully yours will pass quickly x

I wouldn’t bother with their normal flask, as they don’t keep the water over 70c long enough/overnight - recommend keeping kettle in the bedroom during the early days.

We have a UV steriliser, but you can use Milton tablets (they do little mini ones) to sterilise but I was never comfortable with the smell it leaves.

I’ll prob look for a thermos to go with it. A kettle in the bedroom sounds like a good idea. Thanks for the advice 😊

WanderWalker · 30/08/2025 10:18

@Nynm23 thanks for replying I’ve just managed to get it on offer at Argos and the UV steriliser for it also on offer!

So if anyone else it looking at getting one they are currently on offer at Argos 😊

Thank you for the advice @Nynm23i brought the rapid cool last night and UV steriliser! Interesting to know that the hot one doesn’t keep temp very well. I will bare that in mind.

does anyone know if you can use the Asda kids vapour bubble bath when pregnant? I’ve woken up with the worse cold!

It’s probably fine if using through the day if you are out and about. Realistically most people would be looking for a solution for night time - sadly a kettle upstairs is the best we could come up with. Ready to feed bottles are also great but can end up really expensive.

I’m hoping to combi feed this time round so was hoping to use it over night. Maybe need to invest in kettle overnight!

Thank you for the kind words @Moosey898 and @PinkFlamingo888 I was having a real wobble yesterday but feel more optimistic today. Less than a week to go til my scan now. It's nice to know others feel similar and I'm not completely bonkers!

@Jadeypie I have been having the leg cramps and hip pains I'm only 18 weeks! Getting up to go to the loo helps and I keep turning over. I always sleep on my left or my stomach but stomach is getting a bit uncomfortable now. I have an old hip injury on my right so that isn't helping. I find stretching my lower back and hip flexors before bed has helped a bit. I've got a pelvic floor physio appointment in a couple of weeks and she said she'd give me some exercises and advice.

I’m glad it’s not just me! It’s good to hear that yours have eased up now, fingers crossed mine will too. Thanks :)

AiRoo · 30/08/2025 13:53

@Nynm23 hi, when you say cramps, is it like a restless leg feeling too? Like stretching them across the room wouldn’t help kind of thing and can’t get comfortable?

if so, and I know this sounds bizarre, but tie a a sock width ways across both feet, like a fluffy bed sock. Not too tight so that you lose circulation but snug, give it 10 mins, it’s magic!

Morning ladies

God please tell me anyone has any tricks for the leg cramps and hips of a night? I got this with ds but not till later on. Three nights on the run now ive had hardly any sleep because of it.

As for buying ive started too, i only need to get the big stuff now like pram and prep machine. Got some great hand me downs and baby's draws have started filling up nicely. I have 17 weeks and 4 days to go and that just panics me I feel like its so so close xxx

I've been getting leg cramps and achy hips/legs for ages now. I find exercise really helps me. Now that the morning sickness has improved (hopefully!) I've been able to get out and start coming on the dog walks with my husband, so roughly two 30/40 minute walks a day. Symptoms eased immediately with the activity and if I miss a walk I sleep worse that night with more aches and cramps.

I did an exercise class yesterday evening and slept so much better didn't get any aches or cramps. I'll likely have to increase the number of classes each week at this rate as I expect the pain will get worse as the pregnancy progresses. But it's a good motivator to keep going now that I'm able to.

Not sure if it will work for everyone but seems to help me.

LoveaCaramelLatte · 30/08/2025 14:24

Not bought any baby stuff yet waiting until after the 20 week scan next week.

But I have been collecting lots of freebies. You can get some free bags of samples including a small pack of pampers nappies from Emma's Diary if you sign up to emails (you can unsubscribe after). I've also signed up to the Boots parenting club and picked up quite a few things from there so far including baby wash/shampoo, vitamins, tommee tippee bottle and soother all free. I know it's not much but it's free! So worth looking into it you've not signed up to these yet.

Made our first ‘big’ baby purchase today (before this we had a bulk pack of wipes 😅) and it’s the tutti bambini cozee air bedside crib. A bit impulsive as we had a voucher for Costco expiring tomorrow but seemed a good price compared to other places. £130 compared to £225 on Argos (different colours so maybe this colour is older stock?) if anyone else is a member and looking for one.

We have this, in beige and wood, I still love it. It’s odd that most other next to me cots come in grey/navy only

It’s got really good reviews, I’m glad you love it!
I love the beige one, they only had the silver on the Costco website. I much prefer it to the darker grey though. It is strange how most nursery furniture is light apart from the bedside cribs 😅

I'm still having significant amounts of spotting a full week after my last internal examination. I don't know what to do....I only went to triage last Sunday and I had my scan Wednesday but I'm so scared something is wrong, especially as I still don't feel any movement 😥

How many weeks are you know? I would just go back up doesnt matter how many times you end up there. Trust your gut and even if it turns out as nothing you'll never feel guilty about going and checking will you? Xx

I'm 21+3 today. I'm also worried because I'm A- blood type, baby is predicted to be rhesus negative too but I'm sure the midwife said that wasn't 100% so I just have a ton of what ifs in my head. I just don't want to be that person who is always there and seen as a drama queen...

Edited

Its not being a drama queen its being a mother worried. If it was me and have been spotting continuously then I would be back up xx

RealTealQueen · 31/08/2025 13:14

@Moosey898 I agree with everyone else. Get back over there. Better to be safe than sorry. Hope everything is OK. Xxx

My hormones have definitely kicked in now. I cried when I ruined dinner last night and then sobbed at a sad dog video on insta this morning. It broke my little heart!
