My first 16 week appointment with my first mostly consisted of the midwife asking me for careers advice for her daughter 😂. The 16 week appointment with my second was actually quite good and she listened for the heartbeat which I didn’t expect at that appointment. Intrigued to see what this one will be like in a few weeks time!

I’ve gone from not being sick as much to really bad heartburn 😩

Snap! I’ve got it constantly. Living on milk and rennie at the min! Mine is so bad when I’m in bed too 😣

Just when one thing disappears!! Hopefully it doesn’t get too bad

I always thought it was a 3rd trimester thing but now I know it’s something else to look forward too 😩

Acid reflux is my thing currently! Gaviscon is my best friend. Luckily I have a friend who is a pharmacist who has ordered in the giant bottles for me at a cheap price 🤣

Also suffering with heartburn - but still have the nausea so that’s fun. They just alternate all day. It’s a delight. I only found out today that I’m allowed Gaviscon and Rennie so I’ve been suffering for weeks unnecessarily 🤣 x

I’ve already been prescribed omeprazole from when I was being sick so much. Rennie not even touching it. Might have to go to gaviscon if it doesn’t settle. It waking me up through the night

The same thing happened in my last pregnancy I should have known but it wasn’t this early last time!

Im the same with the heartburn!! I didnt get it till the third trimester last time either xx

Yours is probably worse with all the sickness you've had, I have a bottle on my bedside table that lives there incase I wake in the night xx

Also speaking to the midwife yesterday I told her i felt my vitimins was making me feel sick and she said it will be the folic acid in them because we dont need it after 12 weeks and they cause neasua. I didnt take vitamins all the way through with my last they didnt say I had too so im going bk to my pre pregnancy vitimins with was a vit c and d . Xx

Yeah guess my stomach lining not in the best shape from all the sickness so getting irritated easy. I’m going pharmacy today to pick up my anti sickness so I’ll grab some when I’m in there! Xx

Maybe we are going to have babies with lots of hair this time haha. My ds had a fair bit, then it all fell out and he looked like a little old man. I crack up when I look at photos haha xx

My son barely had any hair. Then lost it all and didn’t start growing again until he was nearly 1 😅 the poor boy. Now it’s all thick and curly! Xx

Awww love little boys with curly hair. so maybe the heartburn hair thing is a load of bs then hahs. My ds had black hair then fell out grew back blonde! Speaking of hair mines barely there atm ive never in my life had thin hair. Asked the midwife was I anaemic she said no so its just a pregnancy symtom. Im scared by the time baby's is here ill have none left xxx

Yeah he’s curly and blonde. No idea where the blonde from me and his dad have dark hair 😅 maybe it is. Funny how it works dark hair to blonde. My hair does thst in pregnancy I lose so much so I’ll say it normal. It probably get worse in postpartum as well remember thinking how can I lose more xx

Has anybody had severe trapped wind pain? At least, that’s what I’m assuming it was.
I woke up doubled up in pain the other night, it got to a point where I thought there must be something wrong with the baby but it eventually eased up and I haven’t had it since.

Hope everyone is doing well. So exciting seeing the updates. Although I'm now worried about buying things as I hadn't even thought about it yet!

I've been calling around nurseries this week. Thought I was starting ridiculously early but some are starting to fill up already with places not available until Jan 2027. So if you've not thought about that yet might be worth looking into!

Thank you for reminding me. I needed to reach out to a couple child minders. Crazy how full nursery’s already are!!

God I haven't even thought of that! I hope to take the whole of 2026 off work. I hybrid work with 3 days in the office so will need childcare for then when I return to work.

Guys I have a cold!! And I’m going on holiday tomorrow :( I don’t think it’s the flu as I think I would know - just super congested sneezing every 2 mins and with a bit of a sore throat. Apparently I can’t use lemsip which is usually my go to. I have taken paracetamol and made tea with lemon ginger and honey. Any other tips? Hopefully it will go by tomorrow but I’ve heard that pregnancy makes colds flus and everything worse…

I'm exactly the same - hoping to take the full year off (11 months mat leave and the last month from accrued holiday) and then figure out childcare for my 2 office days. I'm going to look after 24 weeks. Would love to leave it longer, it's mad things book up so far in advance.

I made the mistake of leaving it til my LO was born - high risk pregnancy and a lot of stuff going on during pregnancy that just made me not want to tempt fate..it ended up we could only get a 3 day a week when she was 13 months. We are only getting our full time place this week - she’s 16 months. I had to return to work 3 days a week and use hols to make up the other days. At least this babe will be easier as they know I’m pregnant so can keep me a space from now 😂
