Noooo! Hopefully as the day goes on it eases for you

Morning everyone! I'm lapping up the chat about buying things. I haven't even thought about it and wasn't going to until the autumn. Still feels surreal to have got this far but maybe I should start! No other DC so not too worried about Christmas. I'm hoping for hand-me-downs from some friends/family as well.

WildFinch · 28/07/2025 11:34

Also, I'm 13w4d today and having quite a bit of cramping/stretching feelings. I stretched when I woke up and had bad pain on one side on my groin also when I sneeze. Guessing/hoping this is normal just wondering if anyone else has this? Nausea and tiredness still here annoyingly.

Moosey898 · 28/07/2025 12:02

Hope everyone is having a good Monday. Had my early anatomy scan at 16+4 today and all looked good, the doctor said it couldn't look more normal so that's all I can hope for really! My mother in law came with me as my other half wasn't able to due to work, I feel so blessed to have a great relationship with her and that she's there to support us x

I have had that and Dr Google says it round ligament pain from your muscles relaxing so they can stretch to accommodate the changes happening in your body

Amazing news!! Hope that’s eased your worries. Xxx

@Moosey898 so good to hear this!! Hopefully this has made you feel more calm and you’ll feel that you can enjoy the next few weeks a little more. Nice to allow ourselves to celebrate the small wins!

Jadeypie · 28/07/2025 15:50

I had my 16 week ap today. A week late, but I was gutted she wouldn't do the heartbeat. Said my 28th week appointment they will, Also to ring for mat b form after my 20 week scan. I found the appointment abit pointless tbh and didnt really feel like I jelled with her if that makes sence was in and out. Hoping the consultant can let me have a little listen next week again at my cervix scan and a peek of baby xxx

WildFinch · 28/07/2025 15:52

Excellent news so glad it went well @Moosey898

@Jadeypie @dubkitten guessing it's round ligament pain then, a good sign things are growing hopefully!

I've just had my combined results back, 1 in 5000 for Edwards/ Patau and 1 in 1362 for Down syndrome. Making me low risk. Such a relief! Ticking off one milestone at a time.

That’s great news. They don’t do a combined test here in Ireland, can opt for a private NIPT test

Moosey898 · 28/07/2025 16:11

Thanks everyone - it's a huge step forward 😊 starting to feel like it may actually work out (although I appreciate it's never guaranteed!)

Great news on the good screening results coming in, fingers crossed for anyone still waiting for results xx

It’s very light when folded. You can fold it with the seat on as well which I liked. We went for the pewter colour. Like greeny grey colour we love it. We liked maple as well! If you have a John Lewis near you book one of there nursery appointments, to show you the pushchair. After the appointment you get 10% off or 20% off depending how much you spend with them.

I didn’t know that. Thank you 😊 any extra money off is a bonus because everything is so expensive. I am looking at the ergobaby 360 carrier, but prob going to try vinted for that as it’s so expensive

I had this and hear it’s quite normal. The pain when I sneeze still shocks me 🤣 (I’m 18weeks). I try and brace myself now when I sneeze or cough

Oh that’s so disappointing 😞 I think hearing the heartbeat at 16 weeks just eases your mind a little till your next scan. It’s silly they don’t just give the disclaimer about not being able to refer you if they can’t find it and then do it if you are happy to. It’s horrible when you don’t gel with them as your appointments are few and far between now, so you want a bit of reassurance sometimes don’t you!
fingers crossed they let you have a little listen next week 🤞🏻

My sil was the one who told me they did it. And I’m happy she did as saved some money on the pushchair which helped out so much! I love Vinted for stuff like that. As carriers can be so expensive

One of my friends told me that if you use the baby wishlist on Amazon they send you discounts

RealTealQueen · 28/07/2025 19:25

I had my 16-week midwife appointment today. Waste of time 😂 Took my blood pressure, checked my carbon monoxide, told me again not to shake a baby, checked I wasn’t being abused at home (again) and that was about it. Well, she booked me a whooping cough appointment and a health visitor.

The 25 week is the same with an additional belly measurement..all very monotonous 😂
