Hi guys,

if like me you’ve just got your BFP, then it’s likely you’re due in January too!
congratulations.

@newbaby3 I hope the appointment went well! I'm also 6+5. In relation to the IVF situation - I would text them before you annouce it to everyone. That way they don't have to react to you on the spot and they can process it in their own time.

@Jadeypie my hair seems ok so far. I thought it was more postpartum that you had hair loss. But it's probably hormones!

Nynm23 · 07/06/2025 13:35

I’ve had a bit of spotting today and some twinges, can’t help but think the worst. Didn’t have anything like this with my first pregnancy so my mind has went to worst case scenario.

SureLook · 07/06/2025 14:03

@Nynm23 how many weeks are you? I had two days of light spotting last week. It's very normal!

Nynm23 · 07/06/2025 14:06

@SureLook 7 weeks today. How long are you!? Did you find any info on what it could be? Currently nap trapped in the car and researching on dr google..not helpful.

SureLook · 07/06/2025 14:18

@Nynm23 I'm 6+5 today. I was 5+3 when it started. I didn't find out 100% what it could be. I was too early to be scanned and I didn't have any pain so I just left it. I told myself if it increased or I felt pain I'd go to A&E.
My friend told me if I was really worried to get my HCG levels checked. Her IVF clinic told her that bloods are more accurate than scans. Especially at this early stage.
What colour is it? And stay off Dr. Google. That didn't help me either!

Here to join the thread! I'm 8 weeks, due around 17th January. This will be my third baby, i have a 9 year old and 6 year old. I'm feeling so much more nauseous and tired this time round, I'm slightly worried in case it's twins but likely just because I'm a little older at 37. I have been in maternity clothes since 6 weeks as well and put lots of weight on already (probably all the biscuits and crisps I've been eating to stop the sick feeling). If anyone has recommendations for morning sickness bands please let me know!

SureLook · 07/06/2025 20:04

@Sunshinemoom delighted to hear that ❤️

@ChickenLady37 welcome and congratulations ❤️

Hey. I’m 8 weeks too - due about the 14th. Sickness has been awful for me. I’m the same as you - eating constantly to keep it at bay! Today was the first time I actually vomited though - ruined my whole day! 🤣 Some of the girls were recommending sea bands the other day.

TigerLily38 · 07/06/2025 23:44

@peps2917 @Jadeypie @SureLook just caught up, thanks for your replies! Think I'll nip to Matalan in the morning and invest in some sports bras, good idea! 😅

Had weird stabbing pains on my right side today/tonight, sort of next to my belly button on the right side and kind of running downwards. Hoping that it's just a normal weird pregnancy twinge, it seems to be a shooting/stabbing pain for 1-2 seconds then goes, and keeps coming and going. Luckily I know its not ectopic as had an early scan, but just praying everything is OK - every little twinge feels scary ☹️ xx

2am and 690 messages later, I'm joining the conversation! Found out 10 days ago I'm pregnant, it's my first so pretty excited! DD is January 28th, so 6 weeks and 3 days along. I got a booking in appointment sorted the day I took the test, so that'll be June 19th. Weirdly enough feeling really calm though reading through all the posts has me thinking should I be more anxious or worried?!

No big symptoms yet other than sort boobs, the odd spotting, mild cramps and twinges every so often and fatting. If anything, I feel better than normal as I'm normally always tired and fall asleep during the day and now just feel a nice tiredness. Though waking up most mornings before my alarm. Is this normal, to feel more healthy than you did beforehand? Should I be worried?

Anyways, looking forward to sharing this journey with everyone :)

Round ligiment pain it will be or trapped wind in your bowel if it's by your belly button.

Ive been getting terrible round ligiment pain. If I stand up too sudden sneeze or cough when lying down it's a WOW pain but goes soon as it comes xx

SureLook · 08/06/2025 08:06

@TigerLily38 it could be gas or trapped wind. I know it's hard not to over analyse every little thing!

@claire7007 welcome and congratulations ❤️ I wouldn't worry at all. I didn't feel that bad at all in my first pregnancy. I was exhausted and had sore boobs. But I also slept amazingly cause I was so tired so overall I felt pretty good. No sickness or anything. This time my sleep isn't as good. Try and relax and e.jot it and don't compare. A lot of us here have had losses which is making us anxious!

peps2917 · 08/06/2025 08:58

I’ve got my first private scan today! Feeling excited but also a little nervous as I worry that something will be wrong. I have to try and stay positive though!

Has anyone had their midwife booking appt yet? Did husbands/partners go along with you? I’ve got mine on the 17th and no idea what to expect. My husband wants to come along which is nice but I wasn’t sure what the ‘done thing’ is. Let me know!

Hope the nausea isn’t kicking everyone’s butt as much as it has been. My sea bands have made it more manageable but I still feel it every day which means my appetite has decreased significantly and I can’t drink coffee at all which makes me so sad!

Lashestoashes · 08/06/2025 09:13

I had my booking appointment on Friday and my midwife is so lovely, she really put me at ease so now I just hope all the tests I did come back good and that my 12 week scan is booked in soon! I feel like I’ve only recently had tiredness and sore boobs so it’s hard not to constantly worry if this is all real and happening to me 😂

SureLook · 08/06/2025 09:32

@peps2917 best of luck with the scan today! In Ireland your OH can attend but they can't come into the room with you cause they ask about domestic violence and things like that. Not sure what it's like where you are though!

@Lashestoashes I'm the same, just tiredness and sore boobs. I'd no sickness in my first pregnancy either. So I wouldn't worry!

Thegirlhasnamechanged · 08/06/2025 10:16

@peps2917 my husband has never come with me to a booking appointment but that’s not to say that he couldn’t have. It’s 90 minutes of asking questions mainly about you, tiny bit of fathers family history, so it’s his shout I guess.

Jadeypie · 08/06/2025 10:47

It's the unknown that makes us panic in Pregnancy it's hard sometimes!!

As for booking appointments my partner doesn't come to that one but comes to the scans. Xxx

My husband came with me last time - no issues at all. It’s very boring though. Lots of questions about family history, whether you smoke, weighing you, taking blood and urine samples. He still wants to come again this time - can’t think why! 😆
