Hi!

Just thought i’d start a thread as I know a few of us have found out we are expecting! Would love to hear everyone’s stories to start us off as I know December feels soooo far away yet!

I’ll go first, I already have one child, he is 6 years old Smile Totally did not plan to have anymore once me and his dad split, I was one and done. However, years on met my current other half and I just knew straight away I had a change of heart. We started trying 18 months ago with negatives every month, later finding out there was infertility on both our sides. We moved in together January this year after deciding we would give IVF a try once we were settled in new GPs etc, only to find out we were pregnant! This came to an abrupt end 3 days later where we had what’s known as a chemical pregnancy. Absolutely heartbroken I had half given up, what were the chances we would fall pregnant again so soon after so long of nothing?

Well, here we are, after only 1 cycle later, pregnant again! Hopefully this time is different for us, it definetly feels different! Grin

I would like a group to join! Xx

chickengirls · 19/07/2025 09:08

Don’t know how to message though

Butterflygirl23 · 19/07/2025 09:12

You have to private message @KT199via the website you can’t do it on the app and she’ll add you

Balloffluff123 · 19/07/2025 18:07

Hi all! Hope you are all doing well!
I would also like to join the WhatsApp group however I can see that several people who have privately contacted the admins have been told the group is full. I think we all know it’s not possible to fill a WhatsApp group 🤣.

I appreciate that those who have been chatting since the start may feel they don’t want new people to join but the other two groups I have been in previously haven’t “closed” until much closer to the due date. There are often long time lurkers that may not feel comfortable joining until after their 20wks scan so it seems a shame to cut off these people. We are all mums in need of a friend!
Please would it be possible please to review the “chat is full” policy and let us newcomers in? ☺️ Thank you!

Butterflygirl23 · 19/07/2025 18:36

@Balloffluff123may I ask where you’ve got the information from that the group is full and we are not accepting new requests? I wouldn’t have tagged @KT199for people to message her privately to be added if it was full. We’ve had a few ladies join this week

the first WhatsApp that got created on this thread is full, I tried to join at 5 weeks and even I got declined until there was a new one made

if you’d of messaged privately you would of been added no problem .

Hey,

I hope your okay! 🙂

I know you’ve edited your comment now, but can see initially you tagged me saying people had messaged me and I’d said our group was full. I just wanna confirm I haven’t told anyone this at all and have added a few ladies who have DM’d me this week! I’ve also not had a message from you so I’m a little confused why you thought it was me declining people?

Anyways, just wanted to clear that up as the second group absolutely is still accepting people we just don’t have a link on here as didn’t want anyone on the internet to have access. 🙂 I do think the first group where the link is earlier in this thread has closed and is full as most of us in the second group had also tried to join but werent able to which is why I set up a second group. For the second group we just ask ladies DM me their number and I’ll forward a joining link!

Thanks for your reply - I really appreciate it. Apologies for the initial tag. I realised my mistake and it was too late to change so I am sorry about that. I think I got the wrong end of stick from reading other people’s messages and was outraged at the thought of the group being full 😂. I’m still a bit confused as to how a WhatsApp group can be full - I didn’t know it was possible!

Wildwelshcob92 · 24/07/2025 15:44

Heyy I had no idea there was a group for December babies

I’m due December 20th ❤️ (my late nans birthday)
first baby for both me and my partner
currently high risk due to a heart issue I have but baby is thriving ❤️

I noticed some posts about a WhatsApp? I’d love to join if that’s possible

GlowWorm89 · 24/07/2025 17:50

how is everyone doing? I’m 18W and 2D and definitely feeling all the muscles and skin stretching and making space for the little one.
We’re looking around for prams. Does anyone know around Southend area where there’s a good place to look/try out any prams? Wouldn’t mind even going to Bluewater in Kent if I’d know there is a big Mamas & Papas store for example. Xxxx

Mama09876 · 24/07/2025 20:17

Hey @GlowWorm89 coming up to 20 weeks here! With my 2nd. So feeling all the moments now which is reassuring, earlier this time than with my first. Thankfully having a much better 2nd trimester than 1st! I feel you with all the stretching! I’m definitely showing now.

Sorry I can’t help with the pram I’m not from that area but John Lewis or M&S I found had a really good selection of prams when I got mine and I’m sure M&S stock Mamas & papas

chickengirls · 24/07/2025 20:20

Bluewater has John Lewis with lots x
one thing worrying me is that im 21 weeks and put no weight on. Anyone else had this?

GlowWorm89 · 24/07/2025 20:27

@Mama09876and @chickengirls thanks for the advice. I’ll have a look. There’s a massive M&S in Lakeside so might try that.
Im not really gaining weight but my midwife said not to worry as baby will always take what it needs first. If your midwife isn’t worried try not to worry either. I know easier said than done. @chickengirlshave you had your 20 week scan yet? If that was good then even better 🥰

chickengirls · 24/07/2025 20:28

Than you that’s reassuring! Had it today and all looked fine baby growing ok etc so hopefully im
worrying for nothing!

Mama09876 · 24/07/2025 20:36

@chickengirls im similar probably put just over half a stone so far. I wouldn’t worry as long as you’re eating well and obvs not ‘dieting’ or anything, everyone’s bodies are different 🥰 I didn’t put much on with my first but didn’t really ‘eat for two’ put most of it on in the 3rd trimester though to be fair was much more hungrier then! Did all my eating then! 😂

this 2nd pregnancy is pretty much like for like with my first! Apart from my skin is terrible! Never have an issue but hormones are really effecting it this time round 😫

I’m 20 weeks today and actually lost some weight due to morning sickness but slowly gaining in back. I’m high risk but no one has any concerns about my weight. We had our scans and everything looks great, baby is growing and is measuring fine.

In my first pregnancy I also didn’t start gaining weight until about 3rd trimester

CheeryPombear · 26/07/2025 11:12

@chickengirls my friend is a midwife and I mentioned my weight hasn't really changed yet. She said the extra we need up to 3rd trimester is a slice of toast and an apple. No more. Baby will take what it needs and no need to worry unless you lose weight.

19 + 1 today, had bad chest pain, sweating and shortness of breath yesterday and ended in ED overnight. Waiting for a VQ scan to rule out a blood test. Pregnancy is fun 😩

GlowWorm89 · 27/07/2025 08:50

Happy Sunday everyone! I wanted to ask you who have started to feel movements, how it started. I’m 18w+ 5d and I think I have started to feel baby move. Friday night I felt something and now this morning. Did it start like this for you as well where it was very random with day/s apart between first notisable movements?

rosiegoodwin5432 · 28/07/2025 09:25

@GlowWorm89 I started to feel some flutters around 19w (although at first I thought it was my stomach churning😅) it was on and off and quite random, with days between noticing them. I'm now 21+3 and the last couple of days have started to notice movements a lot more. Some (but not all) of the movements are strong enough for my partner to feel! It seems to only be in the evening at the moment. I know it's different for everyone, though.

Pinkstuffs · 28/07/2025 10:34

I am 18 weeks today and have been feeling movement since about 14 weeks however this is my second baby so I know what to feel. If it feels like bubbles or flutters it’s probably baby. I didn’t feel proper kicks with my first baby until after 24 weeks and no proper pattern for another few weeks after that. The baby is so small still they can get into a position where you can’t feel them which is normal.

LemonMermaid · 28/07/2025 12:40

I am feeling movement a lot more in the evening. I could even work out where baby’s feet were last night as felt all the movement on one side - definite kicks. But second pregnancy here so know what I am looking out for. Little one has a decent kick on it already 🤦🏻‍♀️

CandyRain89 · 28/07/2025 19:08

I started feeling movement around 15-16 weeks (second baby tho). I’m now 20+4 and the movements are definitely much stronger and my partner can also feel them. I notice more movement at night as usually too busy during the day.

I also wanted to ask if anyone started shopping yet? We have couple of little bits I picked last week and just spotted a lovely pushchair at work and can get it with nearly 60% off original price. We had our 20 weeks scan and everything was great however I’m worried its too early and something still could happen as I had two losses previously.

I was exactly the same first pregnant I was a lot later on past 20 weeks before I felt kicks and movement whereas 2nd time I felt them a lot sooner, 19 weeks I’ve been feeling kicks and even seen a small one. No real sequence to them other than more active before bed but seems that way with everyone! Especially when in say down or need to toilet/hungry baby lets me know 😂

Mama09876 · 28/07/2025 20:29

@CandyRain89 with 60% off I’d get it! I don’t need anything this time round (luckily still got everything from my first) but I waited till after 20 weeks just for reassurance and also space in my house 😂

this time round with the 2nd I’ll be very last minute getting everything ready as life is to busy at the moment! More so just need to build & clean everything but bought a Moses basket a few weeks ago which was one thing I needed.

Glad everything was ok with your scan 🥰 I have mine this week.

LemonMermaid · 30/07/2025 10:03

I’ve only bought a couple bits that were in sales at work. Holding out until we’ve had a clear out so we’ve got space

GlowWorm89 · 30/07/2025 10:16

All I’ve Voight so far is to palveta of wet wipes. 🙈
i feel still a bit uneasy to buy anything avtual baby stuff. Thinking the same that I’ll wait after 20 weeks to potentially start buying stuff.
mee already have a cot as well as my MIL has his cot still. 🥰
