Hi!

Just thought i’d start a thread as I know a few of us have found out we are expecting! Would love to hear everyone’s stories to start us off as I know December feels soooo far away yet!

I’ll go first, I already have one child, he is 6 years old Smile Totally did not plan to have anymore once me and his dad split, I was one and done. However, years on met my current other half and I just knew straight away I had a change of heart. We started trying 18 months ago with negatives every month, later finding out there was infertility on both our sides. We moved in together January this year after deciding we would give IVF a try once we were settled in new GPs etc, only to find out we were pregnant! This came to an abrupt end 3 days later where we had what’s known as a chemical pregnancy. Absolutely heartbroken I had half given up, what were the chances we would fall pregnant again so soon after so long of nothing?

Well, here we are, after only 1 cycle later, pregnant again! Hopefully this time is different for us, it definetly feels different! Grin

Hello! I hope everyone is doing well. I’m up as i cannot sleep in this heat despite being incredibly tired. I was wondering if anyone was starting to show? I was fine up until about 2 days ago and now I am having problems doing my trousers up. Not sure if it is the baby or if I have just put on weight..

IcyLimeSwan · 11/07/2025 05:20

@McNicola welcome and congratulations! 🥰

@Daisychains9 ahhh experiencing the same been awake since 3:45, room is cool but I just don’t sleep anymore it seems… 🥲😅 definitely have popped in the last week, I’m just over 19 weeks and was showing previously but it looked like maybe I’d just had one too many meals, whereas now it’s a rather obvious bump protruding! Retired my favourite jeans about 3 weeks ago - could get them on in the AM but by PM the buttons would be urging to be undone 🤣

@Daisychains9 I was in maternity wear by 14 weeks for certain, mainly to take advantage of the sheer comfort of them 🤣

LemonMermaid · 11/07/2025 07:44

I’ve been in maternity pants since week 10 due to all my leggings digging in. I’ve been showing for awhile but second pregnancy here. Managing to sleep on & off but kept getting leg cramp last night.

CheeryPombear · 11/07/2025 10:39

@Daisychains9 I'm definitely showing now (17 weeks today) but have some clothes that hide bump well. I have a lovely friend who asked me whether I was pregnant or just fat 😂 to be fair I was overweight before I got pregnant so can see why they're confused. Thankfully I've only put on 1-2lbs so far

Not sleeping well at all. Cried at work this morning as I'm tired, hormonal and generally pissed off.

Oh I am sorry to hear that!! I know the feeling. I have been awake since 3am today … it is not pleasant!

Daisychains9 · 11/07/2025 10:44

Thanks everyone! That all makes me feel a lot better :) I did not show for ages in my first pregnancy so this has been quite a surprise. I am almost 17 weeks but trying to hide it at work until I have to tell them which I think is 25 weeks! This will be a fun game …! Haha

Has anyone felt movements yet? This is my 3rd baby and iv felt some movement but thought I would be feeling more by now...im just impatient.

Yaaay glad to find a December 2025 thread going! Currently 18 weeks pregnant with our rainbow baby, due 11th December - I have a son who turns 4 next week, and we had two MCs last year so feeling very anxious this pregnancy but slowly getting more excited 😊 nub theory people reckons there's a 90% chance it's a girl but we'll find out for sure at our 20 week scan in a couple of weeks. I think I've started feeling movement but still in the awkward stage where it could just be gas 🤣 hope everyone is coping okay in this heat, I chucked on a swimming cossie after work today and slithered into my son's paddling pool for 30 mins to cool off!!

Hii!! welcome and congratulations on your little (more than likely) girl 😍
We have the same Due date! how fun. haha.
I'm sorry to hear of your previous losses. I hope you can feel less and less worried as time goes on. All the best for you and your pregnancy 😘

I've started feeling a couple of flutters over the last couple of weeks (18 weeks) but very very light ones and not very frequent! Also impatiently waiting to feel proper movement 😅

Yaaay due date buddy! ❤️🥳

CheeryPombear · 12/07/2025 08:31

@UNICORN1589 my midwife asked me if I'd felt movement yet but I'm not sure. Sometimes I feel like I have and then it's just wind 😂 but I'm sure I felt it the other night but not really sure what I should be feeling.

Did anyone get to hear the heartbeat at 16 weeks? My midwife said they don't check until the 24 week appointment which I was really surprised about.

TTCK8 · 12/07/2025 12:47

@CheeryPombear yes I heard the heartbeat at 16 weeks, but I think it just differs depending on where you live - as I have seen a few people saying otherwise.

Im also unsure of if I’m feeling movements. I have an anterior placenta and it is my first pregnancy. I’m 19 weeks on Tuesday.. I have been feeling like bubbles and others that are almost little electric shocks! Pretty low down too! 🤷‍♀️ I think it’s hard because there are so many new feelings and little aches and pains!

CheeryPombear · 12/07/2025 14:25

@TTCK8 I convinced hubby to do a private scan this morning. We've just heard heartbeat, baby is measuring spot on and is wriggling around nicely. We had a full face view again and then a finger stuck up at us so it has attitude. We also found out gender but keeping it secret for now. I have an anterior placenta so that explains why I feel so heavy at the front already and may not feel movement so early. 🥰

LemonMermaid · 13/07/2025 07:33

Yeah I heard the heartbeat at 16 weeks appointment.

Not felt any obvious movement yet. The odd weird motion feeling but nothing regular. Feeling more aches & random sharp pains more than anything.

At 12 week scan this buba seemed to be a lot more active then I remember my daughter being so we will wait & see exactly how often I feel movement. Had anterior placenta last time, they’ve not actually mentioned where placenta is located this time

Pinkstuffs · 13/07/2025 10:09

This is my second baby, I’m 16 weeks and have never heard the heartbeat at any appointment, in my last pregnancy or this one. It must be area dependent? I am feeling movement and my bump is huge!

Gem2112 · 13/07/2025 11:58

Hi all,

Can I have some advice?
I’m new to this site and wondered if I could ask for help?

Im about 6 days before my period, I normally have a 32 day cycle, and had unprotected sex on cycle day 13/14 of my cycle.

I have been having quite strong cramps in my lower abdomen over the last week or so, tender breasts and always feeling hungry.

I did a test 7 days before my missed period, about 4 in the morning and it came up positive, I then did a test the next day and it showed negative.

I used the Sainsbury’s ones and I’ve heard stories of false readings so I’m not sure what to think.

Ive heard that if you have overflooding on the test window it can give a false reading.
The bottom pic is from my first test, the top pic is the second test the next day about 9 in the morning.

Not sure what to think.

Any advice would be great xx

@Gem2112 I would do another couple of tests but this could be a chemical pregnancy. Fingers crossed for you. If you have a good GP they may do a blood test but it's rare.

Thank you, I shall do a test in another few days x

IcyLimeSwan · 14/07/2025 03:48

@UNICORN1589 I've been feeling movement - it’s been getting more obvious in the last 2 weeks or so and I’m 20 weeks tomorrow! I also saw my tummy move from one of the kicks this weekend but I was hawking my stomach when I could feel it was having a bit of a party in one spot ❤️

@CheeryPombear heard the heartbeat at my 16wk appointment, have also heard it varies regionally. I didn’t realise my midwife would do it so when she did I started crying from the emotion of it all - had rocked up thinking it would be standard Q&A and a blood test 😂 wish I had recorded it ❤️
