Hi!

Just thought i’d start a thread as I know a few of us have found out we are expecting! Would love to hear everyone’s stories to start us off as I know December feels soooo far away yet!

I’ll go first, I already have one child, he is 6 years old Smile Totally did not plan to have anymore once me and his dad split, I was one and done. However, years on met my current other half and I just knew straight away I had a change of heart. We started trying 18 months ago with negatives every month, later finding out there was infertility on both our sides. We moved in together January this year after deciding we would give IVF a try once we were settled in new GPs etc, only to find out we were pregnant! This came to an abrupt end 3 days later where we had what’s known as a chemical pregnancy. Absolutely heartbroken I had half given up, what were the chances we would fall pregnant again so soon after so long of nothing?

Well, here we are, after only 1 cycle later, pregnant again! Hopefully this time is different for us, it definetly feels different! Grin

I’ll be 13+2 when I go for mine on 10th of June, I’m nervous but excited

Pinkstuffs · 23/05/2025 08:45

I have had quite a bit of bleeding this morning. Has anyone else experienced this? Started bright red when I went for a BM, I wasn’t expecting it at all!! It’s slowed now to just some brown.

Butterflygirl23 · 23/05/2025 08:49

I’d call the epu to be checked over. Bleeding can be anything minor to serious! My previous miscarriage just started as red (I’m not saying your is bad news). Definitely call for advice and see if they’ll see you. Your cervix may just be irritated maybe

Pinkstuffs · 23/05/2025 08:55

I’ve called but they can’t see me until Tuesday, so I’ve booked a private scan today at 12. I did have some bleeding in my last pregnancy but it was almost always dark brown.

Butterflygirl23 · 23/05/2025 09:03

That’s good you’ve got a scan but annoying the epu wouldn’t see you sooner. Keep us updated hope all is well

UNICORN1589 · 23/05/2025 11:49

Hope all goes well with ur scan and try not to worry. Keep us updated.

I chased up my GP about not hearing from midwife for booking appointment. Sent me on to refer myself. 35minutes in the queue waiting to be told the midwife picked up my referral yesterday and has made booking in appointment for 18th June...which I will be nearly 14 weeks. Im got history of MC and was told last baby was potential patous, downs or Edwards. So I explained I am not happy waiting so long even though I have had private scan. Now passed the book to another department and I have to call them to try and get an earlier appointment. Lots of messing around 😪 Just glad I am lucky enough to be able to pay for private scans.

Pinkstuffs · 23/05/2025 13:51

So the scan was actually fine, baby is measuring 8+5 with a nice strong heartbeat! I’m in shock.

CheeryPombear · 24/05/2025 09:41

@Pinkstuffs glad to hear all ok ☺️

We've got our scan on 12th. Not long now!

houwseevryweekend · 24/05/2025 12:01

Hello ladies. It’s bad news for me sadly. We saw the heartbeat at a private scan last week but baby was measuring quite a bit behind - so I knew it wasn’t likely good news. Sure enough EPU re-scan at 8w5d confirmed heartbeat had stopped and baby and sac have started shrinking (getting re-absorbed) so likely missed miscarriage. But they still need to scan in another 10 days to confirm before they can offer me medical or surgical options - so am now just waiting to miscarry. It’s been 3 weeks of expecting bad news at this point so I really want it over with.

Since this is my 2nd MC they’ll test the embryo and ask my GP to run some tests. We get pregnant easily but they stop growing before 7 weeks and I’ve had a subchorionic haematoma both times - hoping for some answers but also aware in many cases it’s just bad luck. Once it’s all resolved we’ll take the not actively trying but not preventing method and see where we go! We only decided to ttc last Oct and I got pregnant immediately - thought we were so fortunate (ha!) but now 2 MCs later the whole process has left us traumatised. I’d love to take months off for a break but will be 39 soon so will need to get back on it.

Wishing you all happy, healthy, uneventful pregnancies and a perfect bub at the end of it!

UNICORN1589 · 24/05/2025 13:20

LemonMermaid · 27/05/2025 07:49

is anyone else practically symptom free. I’m 10 weeks & for the last couple of days haven’t even felt pregnant.

Durhamgirlie · 27/05/2025 09:58

Me! I’ve not really had any symptoms whatsoever the whole time except a bit of tiredness on a night which has meant a bit of an earlier bedtime!
I think we are lucky! X

LemonMermaid · 27/05/2025 10:04

@Durhamgirlieive had sickness on & off until mid week last week. None nothing. The only sign that I am pregnant is my bloated belly 😂 was just wondering if anyone else’s symptoms have disappeared. I’m not worried about the no symptoms as I had none in my first pregnancy at this stage. It just the sudden stop in them

CheeryPombear · 27/05/2025 12:34

@LemonMermaid yes! I'm 10+2, woke up this morning at 3.30am panicking as I ly.gpt sore boobs and they're not even that bad. Peed on a stick 😂 magically still pregnant.

I'm lucky I work with a midwife and apparently this is normal as the placenta takes over. As long as no other concerning symptoms like cramps or bleeding.

UNICORN1589 · 27/05/2025 14:47

@LemonMermaid yes! So much so I have just been for a private scan. All looks good and measuring 10 weeks today. Seen heartbeat and little baba wiggling about. So I just need to chill and be glad I am not feeling awful ❤️

Finally had my 12 week scan today! All is well thankfully and baby was really bouncing around in there - such a surreal experience. Blood tests have gone off for screening so just awaiting those results but feeling so relieved that all was as it should be. Due date moved forward by 3 days so now due 2nd December and exactly 13 weeks today 😊

Top tip if you're a first timer like me, take cash just incase for the pictures...they let us off as I didn't realise you had to pay, and it was cash only!

Gender guesses welcome if anyone fancies it 😂 we aren't finding out but I'm always here for speculation.

Symptoms pretty much gone now, although still off coffee and alcohol free alternatives...and very weirdly incense and scented candles! Great to see everyone else's updates and excited to see more scans x
