Hi!

Just thought i’d start a thread as I know a few of us have found out we are expecting! Would love to hear everyone’s stories to start us off as I know December feels soooo far away yet!

I’ll go first, I already have one child, he is 6 years old Smile Totally did not plan to have anymore once me and his dad split, I was one and done. However, years on met my current other half and I just knew straight away I had a change of heart. We started trying 18 months ago with negatives every month, later finding out there was infertility on both our sides. We moved in together January this year after deciding we would give IVF a try once we were settled in new GPs etc, only to find out we were pregnant! This came to an abrupt end 3 days later where we had what’s known as a chemical pregnancy. Absolutely heartbroken I had half given up, what were the chances we would fall pregnant again so soon after so long of nothing?

Well, here we are, after only 1 cycle later, pregnant again! Hopefully this time is different for us, it definetly feels different! Grin

Congratulations everyone! I think I'm due 27th December. My first baby, have been tracking ovulation and obsessing over every faint line, so happy!

CheeryPombear · 27/04/2025 20:55

@Luckypinkduck I don't know. I'm on a time limited project so that makes it more difficult.

I've ended up in A&E not long after that last post. Heavy clots and bleeding and pain on my left. Current HCG is around 25000 which hasn't quite doubled in 72 hours but is within range for 6+1. Back tomorrow for a scan.

Durhamgirlie · 27/04/2025 21:18

@CheeryPombear sending love and prayers. Let us know how you get on tomorrow x

Mitzington · 27/04/2025 21:19

I’m so sorry you’re going through this @CheeryPombear and hope you’ll have some answers soon. If you feel having the head space away from work might be helpful I’d do it as the uncertainty alone can be really exhausting. Sending good wishes your way.

Hiya
Due Dec 19th with my first.
Am type 2 diabetic so already started down the gestational diabetes research, have my midwife apt 6th May. Have had some spotting, lots of cramping and one sided pain, along with a fairly substantial bleed on Thursday (+ test this morning still) so waiting for contact from local department via my GP for an early scan. 🤞

Goldfish93 · 28/04/2025 00:54

@cheerypombear I'm so sorry to hear what you are going through at the moment. I've been lurking, but your post brought me out ❤️
I'm on the same medication as you and had a bleed with large clots one morning last week. I rang my clinic and they called me straight in for a scan. Given the size of the clots, I was convinced it was all over, but we saw a bright pulsing heart beat! Dr has paused my blood thinners and upped my progesterone for now, and will review in a weeks time. I have not had any bleeding since. Obviously it's still early (I'm only around 5 weeks or so), and we will feel more secure after our scan later this week (realisticallywe will be holding our breaths until 39weeks if we are lucky enough!) but i wanted to hopefully give you some reassurance that it could all still be very much okay xxx obviously your Dr will advise on your own medication, but I thought it might give you something to discuss at your scan tomorrow. Really hoping that you also see the bright little heat beat xxx

KT199 · 28/04/2025 09:25

Aw @CheeryPombear I have been thinking of you. I hope your scan goes well today, please let us know how it goes if you want to 🤞

Congratulations on your pregnancy! Re nutrition, I'd recommend the book 'real food for pregnancy ' by Lily Nichols. It goes into quite a lot of detail on gestational diabetes, has meal plans, recipes etc and is all backed up scientific research.

CheeryPombear · 28/04/2025 13:03

Thank you everyone for your kind messages. I went to EPU this morning fully expecting to have miscarried but we saw our tiny chicken nugget and a heartbeat. Baby is measuring 5+6 and I'm 6+2 from transfer date but we know implantation isn't always straight away.
I have a 19 x 10 x 7mm SCH sitting right at my cervix/uterus entrance which is causing all the bother. It's currently bigger than baby which increases risk but baby is far away from it so EPU have discharged me.

I cannot tell you the relief I feel.

I'm taking the week off work and asking to work from home more regularly for the next few weeks.

Sending love to you all

Goldfish93 · 28/04/2025 13:35

Congratulations @CheeryPombear !! What fabulous news 🥳 A week off to absorb the news and hopefully relax properly sounds like a wise idea xxx

Durhamgirlie · 28/04/2025 14:02

Wow@CheeryPombearwhat a relief! I’ve been thinking about you today ❤️

KT199 · 28/04/2025 15:07

Aw @CheeryPombear what a relief! So pleased you had some good news. If you want to come back to the group chat drop me a message!!

I had a scan today too, after a MMC in Dec my anxiety defo got the better of me. Luckily measuring a day ahead of what I thought so I’m 6+6 and baby had a good heart beat. Feels like a milestone after baby didn’t grow beyond 6w last time!

Durhamgirlie · 28/04/2025 15:49

@KT199that’s lovely news! My scan can’t come quick enough now!

What did you all do regarding your appointments with work? Our policy is that we have to show an appointment letter to get paid time off but I haven’t told work yet and if I show them they’ll know!
Might have to just take a days leave but would much rather save my leave!

houwseevryweekend · 28/04/2025 15:52

@KT199 @Mitzington@CheeryPombear Congratulations on your scans, so pleased it was good news!

@CheeryPombear enjoy your time off and makes sense to wfh as much as you can, take it easy too as I think lots of rest is good when you have an SCH.

I have my first scan next week at 6w4d so keeping everything crossed we see a heartbeat this time. I do feel a bit traumatised at having to return to the same EPU room I was twice told there wasn’t a heartbeat in my last pregnancy, but they’re all very empathetic and lovely at least.

I have annoyingly caught a UTI when I rarely get them normally so have a course of antibiotics to take. It’s actually mild enough that I was tempted to just ‘flush’ it out with water but read it could get worse and affect baby so went to GP.

Congrats to all the new joiners on your BFPs! Lots of little Xmas - NY babies.

houwseevryweekend · 28/04/2025 15:57

@Durhamgirlie i won’t tell work till after 12 week scan as legally you don’t have to inform until 25 weeks. But they’ll need time to find cover. They knew about my miscarriage so am
sure my leadership are expecting pregnancy news of me..

I wfh so don’t need to take formal time off for appointments - as long as I manage work around it. If it’s bad news then I’d probably take a sick day as I don’t want to share news of another miscarriage with work.

activesprouts · 28/04/2025 16:14

Hi! Been lurking for a while so thought I’d come and say hello! Pregnant with my third, think I’m around 9 weeks but this is based on conception so not totally sure! It’s been a tough first trimester feeling quite nauseous and looking after a 1 and 3 year old 😂 but nearly through it and looking forward to some reassurance with the 12 week scan.

How is everyone feeling today?

I managed to get a scan at 6pm so was able to go without having to let work know, worth checking how early or late they start scanning!

Durhamgirlie · 28/04/2025 17:59

ah Thanks@Mitzingtoni hadn’t thought that they might do them outside work hours! Thankyou

Edelweiss2020 · 28/04/2025 21:37

Anyone got any tips for constant nausea? I haven't been sick at all but feel sick all day every day :( With my first pregnancy I got off very lightly and was only occasionally nauseous and only vomited once the whole pregnancy!
This time around I'm really struggling, if anyone has found anything at all that even mildly helps, please share!

Hope everyone is doing okay ❤️

Bbydidro · 28/04/2025 21:42

Hi everyone,

so happy I have found this chat! It’s been really reassuring reading through all of your experiences!

I am currently on IUI#2. My first IUI cycle ended in MC at 7w4d in December, After I was diagnosed with under active thyroid. I am now currently 4w5d pregnant.
This cycle has already been a rollercoaster of emotions! I had a bleed 5 days ago. It was mostly brown and pink and only when I first realised had it been enough to touch my knickers. After that it was only brown when I wiped. It’s scared me so much!
I am still testing every morning as I’m worried about my lines fading as I’ve read about chemical pregnancies. I’m taking 400mg progesterone twice a day so I was surprised to bleed and I’m worried it would mask a MC. I have my viability scan booked in for the 14th of May and I know the next two weeks are going to feel like two years! So scared to go for the scan as last time we saw no heartbeat.
The not knowing it’s going to be ok is driving me insane. I’m feeling so anxious! Constantly symptom spotting, wiping to make sure I’m not bleeding, I’m just really struggling to relax or think about anything else. It’s consuming me.

I feel you it’s so tough isn’t it! I’ve found eating every two hours really helps, as letting myself getting hungry makes it so much worse. If you’re able to stomach it at the moment, getting fats/protein in if you can has helped me so much more than the first week when I was living off cereal and toast!

Also sipping on fizzy water, sucking mints/sweets can help for in between meals. Hope you’re feeling better soon!

CheeryPombear · 29/04/2025 09:49

@Bbydidro gentle congratulations. I totally get how scared and anxious you are. Take one day at a time and be kind to yourself. Sadly we have no control over any of this (which makes Mrs ControlFreak here very very anxious!).

If it's any help, my specialist has said that the Progesterone won't mask a miscarriage, you would still bleed through it just might take a little longer/slow may be slower. Sounds awful but that reassured me that I probably wouldn't miss it.

The anxiety around peeing and seeing blood is real. I tried to explain it to my husband and he just doesn't understand and I feel like I'm going mad.

Sending you all the loves. There are lots of us on this journey with angel babies.

Bbydidro · 29/04/2025 10:00

Aww thank you for this! That’s really reassuring to know I wouldn’t miss it on progesterone!

How far along are you?

Karla33 · 29/04/2025 10:48

Congratulations all!
im also expecting due 21st December by a scan yesterday however im not sure its going to be a good outcome as the baby had a slow heartbeat 💓 😢 have to go back in a few weeks. Has anyone had any experience with this

PennyPencils · 29/04/2025 12:49

So pleased to see your update @CheeryPombear and good to hear about the progesterone not masking as I've been worried about that myself so thank you.
