Hi!

Just thought i’d start a thread as I know a few of us have found out we are expecting! Would love to hear everyone’s stories to start us off as I know December feels soooo far away yet!

I’ll go first, I already have one child, he is 6 years old Smile Totally did not plan to have anymore once me and his dad split, I was one and done. However, years on met my current other half and I just knew straight away I had a change of heart. We started trying 18 months ago with negatives every month, later finding out there was infertility on both our sides. We moved in together January this year after deciding we would give IVF a try once we were settled in new GPs etc, only to find out we were pregnant! This came to an abrupt end 3 days later where we had what’s known as a chemical pregnancy. Absolutely heartbroken I had half given up, what were the chances we would fall pregnant again so soon after so long of nothing?

Well, here we are, after only 1 cycle later, pregnant again! Hopefully this time is different for us, it definetly feels different! Grin

@Butterflygirl23oh yay!! Congratulations, i did wonder if you got your BFP as you had all the symptoms. Same due date it seems too.

I will only join the WhatsApp group once I’ve had my dating scan as it would feel more awful if things didn’t work out, the anonymity of MN makes miscarriage a bit easier to bear without all the notifications, and MN groups easier to leave! Hoping people still update this chat too or it might just be me on here.

Durhamgirlie · 23/04/2025 17:25

@houwseevryweekendyeah I think I’m only gonna join WhatsApp once I’ve told people…. I’m paranoid that someone I know will be on there ahaha

Durhamgirlie · 23/04/2025 17:30

Sounds like everyone is progressing nicely so far!

I’m looking forward to seeing some scan photos soon - who’s got their first scan first?? I’ve just booked privately for 12th 😬 nerve racking but very exciting x

There’s only I think about 15 of us in the second group chat as the first one is full apparently

expat321 · 23/04/2025 19:17

@KT199 @Butterflygirl23 I have PMd KT to join the WA group a few days ago 🙏🏼

I'm 6+3 with No.3!

I’ve booked a private scan too! Mine is the 18th. How far along will you be?

LemonMermaid · 24/04/2025 22:50

How long did it take you to hear from your local midwifery team after registering online. I registered on 15/4 & still not heard from anyone. Anxiously awaiting that first contact

Butterflygirl23 · 25/04/2025 06:32

I did mine yesterday and it said up to 5-10 days but might be different else where. You’d of thought you’d of heard back by now

houwseevryweekend · 25/04/2025 08:17

@LemonMermaidI filled out my form on Fri and heard back on Tue with my booking appointment and 12 week scan dates. But my trust normally responds in 2-3 days.

I’m going to call EGU on Sat to book my early reassurance scan (they offered it after my miscarriage) for 6.5-7 weeks then a private scan at 9.5 - 10 weeks. We are on holiday and I didn’t carry any tests, got paranoid I wasn’t pregnant and bought a cheapie here to confirm 😂. My husband was bemused as he just thinks no period + 1 positive pregnancy test = pregnant.

How is everyone doing? My bloating is ridiculous now, I look 5 months pregnant already!! Hope this goes down soon or will be hard to keep this quiet till 12 weeks.

I didn't hear until like two and a half weeks after registering, but I did the form at just 4 weeks so figured they might triage based on how far along you are...then got appointments through for both 8 week appointment (1st may) and 12 week scan (27 may).

Nausea killing me atm (8 weeks today) - and another weekend of feigning cystitis for not drinking 🤣 anyone else got any better excuses they've been using?

LemonMermaid · 25/04/2025 08:49

@Bluebanana414i did mine as soon as i found out at exactly 4 week, so may have to be a bit more patient. Currently on the school run & feel like a could throw up. Back home to have some toast & put my feet up.

@houwseevryweekendmy bloating is awful, currently just look like I’ve got a little piggy belly. Luckily I am off work at the moment as my partner had a motorbike accident a couple weeks ago back & has fractured his pelvis & been told not to get up unless he really has to. Otherwise I think some of my colleagues might have twigged already

Digby86 · 25/04/2025 15:44

Can I join? Just found out this afternoon that I’m pregnant. Haven’t actually told husband yet 😂

we have a 2.5 year old, and I’ve been quite conflicted about having another. I had a bad time with PND after my son was born and feel like our little boy still needs me so much I worry about the impact of introducing a younger sibling. But I’m nearly 40 so we felt like it was a now or never situation.

i am happy, but feeling quite overwhelmed today. Especially as I wasn’t expecting it this month.

sorry if I’ve just brought down the tone 🙈

Pinkstuffs · 25/04/2025 16:00

Can I join? I’m about 5 weeks, I think I’m due on NYE or just before (I have a short LH phase so hard to tell). I have a DS who just turned 1 so this is a shock!

Durhamgirlie · 25/04/2025 17:43

@blueberrypi27ill be 8 weeks ish so praying for some reassurance that there’s a heartbeat and all will be ok!

@LemonMermaid I just rung the number for my midwife team (Durham NHS) and they sent me all the login details for badger notes there and then on the phone and once id logged in my first appointment was there in the app! Id give them a ring if you don’t hear anything soon x

Durhamgirlie · 25/04/2025 17:46

Congrats to you girls just finding out! ✨

TTCK8 · 26/04/2025 08:12

Hi, hope I’m also ok to join! I’m currently 7+3. This will be my first and I have had 3 previous ectopic pregnancies which led us to going down the IVF route.

Had a perfect scan yesterday, saw little baby in the right place and a lovely strong heartbeat 🥰 So we have officially been discharged from the IVF clinic 🤞🙌

It is lovely to hear everyone’s stories for our December babies!! My ivf clinic gave me the due date of 10th - which will just be the best Christmas gift for our family 🥹✨🌈

Butterflygirl23 · 26/04/2025 08:14

@TTCK8aww that’s so lovely to hear glad it well went well and you saw your little bean 🥰 if you message @KT199ahell add you to our WhatsApp group if you wanted to join us x

LiLiSun · 26/04/2025 20:57

Congratulations to everyone due in December. I have loved reading your messages over the past weeks and followed along. I am also pregnant and due around Dec 5th, so in week 8. This will be our first baby. I am 37. I have heard from my midwife 2 weeks ago. I filled out a province wide questionnaire right when I found out at 3 weeks and did not hear back from any midwifery clinic until I reached out again to the specific clinics through their contact form. Now I will have my first ultrasound on Monday. So excited. I would love to join the WhatsApp group but can’t figure out how to send a personal message. A link to the group would be so much easier in my opinion.

Symptoms are really strong. I feel like I am sea sick all the time. It’s been two tough weeks, but it seems like it’s getting better a bit.
Hope you are all doing well.

Congratulations on your pregnancy. You have to log in on your safari on MN and then you can message @KT199on there

PennyPencils · 27/04/2025 07:37

Hi everyone. I'm just about brave enough to join. I'm 5+6 today with number 3. Due Dec 22nd I think.
I'm 41 so this is my last chance for me. DC2 is 2.5 years old and DC1 is 18!!
Have been trying a year and had two miscarriages along the way so haven't dared to let myself say I'm pregnant yet but last HCG bloods looked ok and I'm now on asprin and progesterone.
I've a scan booked for May 15th.
Nausea is escalating quickly with me too. I get it pretty badly. Was in bed for 3 months with it last time. 😬 Don't have that luxury this time.
Congratulations everyone

LemonMermaid · 27/04/2025 08:29

How is everyone feeling today? I’m 5.5 today & so far today feeling good no symptoms. Compared to yesterday where I had a headache & I felt sick all day. I don’t seem to be seeing as much either now & cramps have calmed down. Guessing muscles have stopped stretching & pitting pressure on my bladder

Durhamgirlie · 27/04/2025 08:56

Morning girls!

I felt extremely exhausted yesterday, I’m 6+1 and it’s the first real symptom I’ve had. I went for a 2 hour nap at 5pm and still managed to sleep for 9 hours last night 🙈 works gonna be fun this week if this continues 😂

How’s everyone else?
Congrats to the new faces! X

CheeryPombear · 27/04/2025 14:06

Hi all

I'm still hanging in here. I had HCG last week, 1st was above 8000 and 2nd was 15000 on days 5+3 and 5+5 so was looking good. I'm still bleeding, sometimes quite heavily and sometimes spotting but its now bright red rather than pink or brown.

My clinic have brought my scan forward to the 2nd and I'm just trying to hold on until then. I have very little pain or symptoms, sometimes sore boobs but I'm on estrogen, progesterone, aspirin and clexane so God only knows what that concoction is doing to my body.

I could theoretically go to ED/EPU now I'm over the 6 week mark but if I'm miscarrying there is nothing they can do that clinic can't do. The only difference is I could stop my medications.

This is the worst week of annual leave I've ever had! I'm not sure whether to go to work this week or not. If not I'm home alone. If I get a confirmed miscarriage I get 10 days paid bereavement which is lovely but I don't want to take that now and then find out I have a healthy baby and a very weird body that just bleeds all the time!

Hope you are all doing well. I'm sorry I left the chat, I just can't deal with the positives at the moment whilst going through this hell.

Mitzington · 27/04/2025 16:46

We had a private reassurance scan on Friday and saw a heartbeat - so far so good, which is a relief after a missed miscarriage last time. They did say I was 6+5 rather than 7+5, which I can’t figure out as we tracked very carefully when we were TTC and ovulation, but maybe it’s not that exact?

Nausea and bloating is getting me quite down and making me a bit anxious about the prospect of feeling terrible and not like myself for months and months. I’m really hoping it gets easier. Any tips very welcome!

Next scan is 25th May so holding on until then before we feel confident enough to tell anyone.

Luckypinkduck · 27/04/2025 17:59

@CheeryPombear sending you all the best wishes/ luck/ prayers 🙏

It's so hard to know what to do about work while your in limbo. Do you think you want to work or would prefer to have some time off? You could always have some sick leave and then potentially explain at a later date.
