Hi!

Just thought i’d start a thread as I know a few of us have found out we are expecting! Would love to hear everyone’s stories to start us off as I know December feels soooo far away yet!

I’ll go first, I already have one child, he is 6 years old Smile Totally did not plan to have anymore once me and his dad split, I was one and done. However, years on met my current other half and I just knew straight away I had a change of heart. We started trying 18 months ago with negatives every month, later finding out there was infertility on both our sides. We moved in together January this year after deciding we would give IVF a try once we were settled in new GPs etc, only to find out we were pregnant! This came to an abrupt end 3 days later where we had what’s known as a chemical pregnancy. Absolutely heartbroken I had half given up, what were the chances we would fall pregnant again so soon after so long of nothing?

Well, here we are, after only 1 cycle later, pregnant again! Hopefully this time is different for us, it definetly feels different! Grin

Congratulations @blooshboon

Durhamgirlie · 22/04/2025 06:59

How’s everyone else doing this morning?

im back at work today…. Its going to be a struggle keeping it under wraps for the next 2 months how do you all do it 😂

houwseevryweekend · 22/04/2025 07:35

Welcome to all the new joiners!

@Durhamgirliei am so ridiculously bloated already at just 4w2d, I’ve had to buy a size up of trousers for my hols this week. I get hit by a wave of tiredness around 4-5pm every day and need a nap. I’m back at work next week so hoping I can power through.

Has anyone else had pregnancy spots on their face already? Last time around my face was clear and glowing so am a bit bummed it’s not the same this time around. But not sure I should be comparing to the last time given it didn’t work out.

I have had to tell them at 4wk2 because I work with challenging behaviour which requires floor restraints. Would never have mentioned it for ages otherwise as have history of 50/50 losses by 8 weeks 😔

Lorna198 · 22/04/2025 10:56

I’ve developed some sort of sore throat over the weekend and I’m now struggling to swallow. I had waves of nausea over the weekend too so I’m really hoping sickness stays away while this is going on!
rang the midwife clinic this morning and need to ring back after 7 weeks to give my details.
think I’d forgotten how much of pregnancy is just about waiting lol. Hope everyone else is well!

sunrise2025 · 22/04/2025 14:15

Hello have been lurking.
Congratulations all.
I'm 5+3 due 20th Dec
Nausea has started today and eating only takes it away for an hour!! Any tips gratefully received. Anyone else nauseous this early?

Forgot to add first baby! I'm 35 :)

Mummamartell · 22/04/2025 14:22

I’m the same. What’s your symptoms like now?
ive started to get mild nausea x

sunrise2025 · 22/04/2025 14:39

Very bloated, sore boobs, early morning awakening are the main 3 and then today has started with nausea/empty stomach feeling if I'm not continuously eating. Snacking as I type! You?

Butterflygirl23 · 22/04/2025 16:02

Hey I’ve just requested to be added to the WhatsApp group but have been declined I think
I had my first bfp yesterday and then today. My due date will be 28th December
do I have to do anything to be accepted into the group first?

ChloeG84 · 22/04/2025 16:10

@Butterflygirl23was it the latest group you tried to join as I think there are two

Butterflygirl23 · 22/04/2025 16:12

Butterflygirl23 · 22/04/2025 16:16

ChloeG84 · 22/04/2025 16:23

KT199 · 22/04/2025 16:23

Hey, congrats. If you message me your number I can add you to the group there isn’t a link for the second one on the thread there was just a message to say send me your number over 🙂 it was created as the first one is full!

Butterflygirl23 · 22/04/2025 16:25

Oh my goodness you can dm on here how?? 😂🙈

Durhamgirlie · 22/04/2025 20:44

I’m 5+3 today. Still had no symptoms other than bloating but I’ve taken god knows how many tests and all very positive so it must be real lol. Praying it stays like this as long as possible and I avoid the sickness!

I registered with my midwife online today and have been given my first appointment on 13th May.

It does all feel like such a long wait!

I will also join the WhatsApp group… does anyone have a link? can’t figure out how to dm x

ChloeG84 · 22/04/2025 20:54

@Butterflygirl23 & @Durhamgirlie you can only DM on the website, not the app! Crazy!

Bluebanana414 · 23/04/2025 08:00

Hi all,
Have been reading all the messages for a while - huge congrats to everyone!
I'm 30, pregnant with my first baby, due 5th December. It's all happened quite quickly so still getting to terms with it all. My first appointment is on 1st may - will be just about 9 weeks then - stupid question, but can anyone tell me what will happen in that? I'm guessing I can bring my partner? Probably the first of many stupid questions so thanks in advance for any help!
Also was relatively symptom free (aside from fatigue) until Monday and now the nausea is hitting hard 🤢

Butterflygirl23 · 23/04/2025 08:07

Congratulations @Bluebanana414
your booking appointment is basically they do your weight height blood pressure, take multiple bloods and then ask you lots of questions regarding your health/mental health/ family questions. You can take your partner but I’ve never take mine to it as it’s boring he would hate it 😂. Did they sign you up to badger notes app? Because the questionnaire they ask you at your booking appointment is on there and you can answer it before you go so it’s easier and quicker but not too worry if not. Also after your booking appointment you’ll get your NHS 12 week scan date too. Have you started taking your vitamins etc? X

sparklerr · 23/04/2025 09:26

@Durhamgirlieand@sunrise2025we’re about the same time, I’m 5 weeks 4 days today. No symptoms so far so I did another test and I am definitely pregnant 😅 just been getting mild cramping on and off ever since I missed my period.

forgot to add also, first baby and I’m 36.

LemonMermaid · 23/04/2025 09:55

I am due December. Got 2 very positive tests last week. Boobs are very sensitive this time around definitely weren’t this bad in my previous pregnancy. I have a daughter who is 6 this week. Was very happy with one child until I saw my daughters face light up around the kids in her classes baby brothers and sister so we decided to try for another. 6 months later here we are. So excited & so far feeling fantastic

blueberrypi27 · 23/04/2025 10:01

Hello, excited to join you all! This will be my third child and I am currently 5w 2d, due 22nd December by my guesses. No symptoms to speak of currently so I keep feeling like I’ve dreamt it. Hope everyone is feeling ok 👍

Thank you so much for replying and all the info - that makes sense, I don't think I've been signed up to badger notes but I will give that a Google. I think I've just got an appointment through for 12 weeks on 27 may which I guess must be the scan.

I'm taking Folic acid and trying to eat healthy - have cut caffeine which wasn't as hard as I thought it would be! Are there any other vitamins you'd recommend?

I've just been sick - thankfully wfh today!! Feel much better now, but this ain't easy is it 😂 how are your symptoms??

Butterflygirl23 · 23/04/2025 11:17

@Bluebanana414you need to be taking vitamins alongside taking folic acid. I take pregnacare vitamins that has folic acid in them with loads of different ones too but there is quite a few different brands of pregnancy vitamins

how many weeks are you?
I’ve had sickness since 3dpo every morning just like I did when I had my little girl😂 and I’m extremely tired in the day time I had an afternoon nap yesterday lol
