Hi!

Just thought i’d start a thread as I know a few of us have found out we are expecting! Would love to hear everyone’s stories to start us off as I know December feels soooo far away yet!

I’ll go first, I already have one child, he is 6 years old Smile Totally did not plan to have anymore once me and his dad split, I was one and done. However, years on met my current other half and I just knew straight away I had a change of heart. We started trying 18 months ago with negatives every month, later finding out there was infertility on both our sides. We moved in together January this year after deciding we would give IVF a try once we were settled in new GPs etc, only to find out we were pregnant! This came to an abrupt end 3 days later where we had what’s known as a chemical pregnancy. Absolutely heartbroken I had half given up, what were the chances we would fall pregnant again so soon after so long of nothing?

Well, here we are, after only 1 cycle later, pregnant again! Hopefully this time is different for us, it definetly feels different! Grin

@CheeryPombear@ChloeG84

Yes it’s my first! Is it yours?

Have you thought about doing an early scan? I’ve just been googling them so might pay for one for peace of mind but not sure if the ‘baby’ will even be big enough to see as my app says it’s still like the size of a sesame seed or something at 8 weeks ha

Yes my first too :)
Ive considered an early scan too but like you, unsure if its worth doing or not - its crazy that until you are 12 weeks you are kind of left to it, especially as now is the most vulnerable time, but I guess these anxieties are a normal part of it 😂

This was my private scan at 7 weeks and 6 days during my last pregnancy. We unfortunately lost this baby due to a genetic syndrome but I would definitely recommend having a scan at around this time as it was a lovely experience and we have a video of his heartbeat we can cherish forever. Any earlier and we probably wouldn’t have seen much! But yeah you can definitely tell it’s a baby at round this point

Thank you. I’m 6 weeks today with our rainbow baby so just praying all is fine with this one 🙏🏻 but we will be having as many scans as we can afford for reassurance 😂

Durhamgirlie · 14/04/2025 12:14

@DragonMother93 So sorry for your loss, I bet you are so pleased you have this to remember baby by.

I think I definitely will have an early scan then it sounds like a lovely first experience and you can see more than I thought you would x

You've convinced me! Ive booked on for when im 8 weeks

CheeryPombear · 14/04/2025 12:52

@Durhamgirlie @ChloeG84

I think you can see the heartbeat from 6 weeks - I have to let clinic know on my official test date on Wednesday before next steps. I am hoping they will offer an early scan. It's my 2nd pregnancy (MMC) so would like some early reassurance as well. I don't know with my age & being a bit on the chunky side whether I will fall into a high risk category or not. The embryo is adopted so maternal age is actually younger.

Ive booked one for 8 weeks, i think just some reassurance is going to help me massively! Just need to get through the next 4 weeks now 😂

Luckypinkduck · 14/04/2025 13:50

So sorry for your loss @DragonMother93

I had an early scan with my first pregnancy and really glad I did. It was when the COVID restrictions were still in so the NHS ones were very clinical! Not sure if they always are but they made my husband wait outside then I had to ring him to join me once I was called and they had already started by the time he got there!

I can't remember the exact date I went but I think it was around 7 weeks. I am going to do similar this time. If anything is wrong I would rather know sooner

I will be 8 weeks at the scan - im just hoping it can ease some anxieties, every cramp or pain i get im worried that something is wrong, im going to drive myself mad!

Luckypinkduck · 14/04/2025 15:45

My son was premature so I think I will be an anxious mess from mid pregnancy thinking every twinge is labour starting. Trying to carry on as normal as much as possible for now, actually probably doing more trying to make the most of not being sick yet!

I don’t know what’s worse, worrying that every twinge is something going wrong or having no symptoms and worrying that nothing’s happening 😂

Durhamgirlie · 14/04/2025 20:36

@Luckypinkduckoh no I’m dreading the morning sickness 😩 When does it tend to start?

spttc · 15/04/2025 00:03

@Durhamgirlie I think it was around 8 weeks with my daughter that the all day sickness started. Lasted until I gave birth 😬

CheeryPombear · 15/04/2025 08:19

@Durhamgirlie feeling sick & tummy flipping like you've just driven fast over a humpback bridge is the first symptoms I get when pregnant. It's happened both times. If I hadn't felt it I wouldn't have tested so early after our embryo transfer but tested at 5days post and got an extremely faint line. The sickness has settled now and had a few vaginal cramps, some spotting on Thursday night into Friday and just have very sore and heavy boobs. Hoping I won't get bad nausea. My symptoms are probably exacerbated by the amount of meds I'm also on.

DownWithCremeEggs · 15/04/2025 09:15

Hi guys. So I did what I promised not to do once I got a positive digital and tested again this morning. I used FMU and a CB early and whilst there is a line there, it's really faint 😔 I'm now worried I'm having a chemical/miscarriage. My period is due today (no signs yet) but surely the line should be darker now? I've attached a picture. Argh,I shouldn't have tested again 😅 I did flood the test a bit, dunno if that would make a difference.

Feeling sooooo anxious this week, I started bleeding in my MC around 5 weeks, I’m 5+1 today. Over analysing everything and expecting to see spotting every time I go to the toilet 😢 Really trying to keep positive.

LeeLee02 · 15/04/2025 11:20

Hi, I am due early December (between 9th-11th). I got my BFP on Mother’s Day! Already have a little girl who turned 3 last week but have had 2 previous miscarriages.
I’m on progesterone and baby aspirin and have an early scan booked next week. I will be 7 weeks.
Praying all is well and we get to see a little flickering heartbeat.
Completely understand all the anxiety in these early weeks.
Sticking to the rules, taking my vitamins etc, staying away from restricted food; doing all I can and praying this little bean sticks.

congratulations all on your BFP X

Im exactly the same! Every twinge i think there is a problem - ive booked an early scan at 8 weeks, but still have another 3 & 1/2 weeks to go before i get there! These first weeks are tough! xx

Luckypinkduck · 15/04/2025 11:55

I think the sickness started around 7 weeks for me last time and was horrible. But like a few of you have said no symptoms is also really worrying so you can't win!

It’s horrible - my only real symptom so far has been that my boobs are sore and I feel like I’m obsessively poking them to make sure they still are and sending myself crazy if they’re not!!
