Hello! Apologies if there is a July thread already (I couldn’t find one). Is there anyone else due in July who would like to chat during the journey?

Hi there, it's been a while since I have posted here. Hope you are all doing well. I'll be 27 weeks tomorrow. I feel like the 2nd trimester has gone sooo fast!
I'm also finding it so uncomfortable to get comfortable in bed. I don't think it gets any easier. Are you using a pregnancy pillow? I don't have an offical once but using a pillow. Helps a little I guess but still tossing and turning in the night.
Still can't believe I have 10 weeks left!

MrsBP15 · 05/05/2025 21:28

Hi @RG84 must say I’m glad I’m not the only one. It wouldn’t be so bad if I wasn’t working full time and leaving at 7:30 to go to work every day. I have a Bella Moon pillow which has helped but the last few nights have been so bad. I don’t really have any tips but open to suggestions if anyone has any! Have you been buying stuff yet? I think we’re nearly there with the big stuff

RG84 · 06/05/2025 19:07

@MrsBP15 aw sorry that must be tough. I'll look into that pillow, it's the turning for me lol..
I have been so terrible and haven't brought any furniture such as pram, cot etc. I've brought only a couple of newborn babygrows but I need to go through my kids clothes and see what I can reuse. But the big stuff I need to buy now now 😩

3rdbabytime · 06/05/2025 20:38

Hi everyone, how are you all getting on? I'll be 28 weeks tmrw! It's going so fast. We managed to sort out the 3 car seats for the back using in car safety centre, they are amazing and I was worried we'd need to buy a new car but it's all sorted now.

@MrsBP15 @RG84 I've found sleeping difficult too. I've got my 2 babas cosleeping with me and they squash me even though we have a huge bed, so I'm often waking up moving to the other side of the bed. I'm also needing the temp of the room on the cooler side, I'm really not looking forward to the warmer weather!

I also found out I'm at risk of developing gestational diabetes so being monitored for now. Also PGP has started earlier for me this time so midwife has referred for physio.

Hope you're all doing well!

RG84 · 06/05/2025 20:59

@3rdbabytime ah tell me about it! I totally understand the co-sleeping situation. Its difficult isn't it. My 5 year old refused to sleep in her room so we moved her bed into our room with my 18 month co-sleeping..fun times!
I've been ignoring getting a new car seat as we didn't and can't upgrade our car right now. That's good to know, I will look into that.
Sorry to hear regarding GD, hopefully you can manage this with a diet. It's not fun but you get use to it if it is the case with you. You get extra scans so that's always a bonus, that's my bright side haha.
Ah sorry, its awful that is and I hope the physio helps.

3rdbabytime · 07/05/2025 11:05

@RG84 Are you still co-sleeping? I do wonder when to move my 4 year old into his own room but he's very attached at night time and I don't have the heart to move him yet. They're little only for a a few years so trying to enjoy all the cuddles while being uncomfortable at night. I have my 4 year old on one side and 2 year old on the other. DH is in the spare room which works for us lol

Thank you for the GD encouragement! They've given me 2 weeks to see if diet helps and if not then may need to go on medication. It's so hard to do as a foodie!

Anyone else starting to nest? I keep changing from urges to clean and scrub to cba lol

MrsBP15 · 08/05/2025 08:20

Hello @RG84 and @3rdbabytime yeah this week has been shite for sleeping though I don’t have any little people in bed with me so I can only imagine how tricky that is! We had our second NCT class last night and we decided we just need to get into better sleep habits (no screens, reading etc) it seems that’s all I can really do so I’m going to give it a go! I’ve bought quite a few things but then this is my first so I guess that’s to be expected! We have all the large items (car seat, pram etc) and a few clothes that have been gifted/handed down. We definitely won’t buy anymore clothes! We’re painting the spare room/nursery this weekend which will be nice 😊 any tips for must haves greatly appreciated. I’m having a c-section end of July!

3rdbabytime · 13/05/2025 11:26

Hi @MrsBP15 and everyone else. Hope you're all well. When I had my EMCS I was so glad my phone charging wire was a really long wire which made charging my phone in hospital really easy without having to get up. 2nd time I also took my breastfeeding pillow.

Workingmammabear · 18/05/2025 22:58

Hi! Not been here for a loooong time but I'm due with my little boy on 24 July and will likely have a planned c section. I'm having a scan to determine whether I have placenta previa on 4 June so will know more then. My 2 year old was 9 days overdue and the thought of knowing the date this one is coming is so nice!

@MrsBP15 I recommend big incontinence style pants for after c section. Some that are a few sizes bigger than you usually are. They were a game changer for me last time and were comfortable above the scar. In my bag I also have sweets, some flapjack style bars, a little squirty bottle of squash, some spritz for bitz from my expert midwife, cosy socks, pajamas, flip flops, battery pack for my phone, face wipes and moisturiser, something comfy to travel home in, toothbrush / paste, earphones and ear plugs :) last time I was in hospital for 4 days -3 were post op and I was super glad I'd brought all of these little comforts with me!

MrsBP15 · 19/05/2025 12:36

Oh my gosh thank you @Workingmammabear that is so helpful! How are you getting on? Hope you’re reasonably comfortable? I’m ok although sleep is a very distant memory so that’s a shame but there isn’t much to be done I don’t think!

Workingmammabear · 19/05/2025 13:59

@MrsBP15 I totally know what you mean about sleep. I've just pulled my work maternity leave request forward to mid June because I'm so exhausted I can't face working for much longer.

I have hypoglycemia as well as the placenta issue, and being an older mum (41) my body just seems to be a little less able to cope compared with my friends who had their kids years ago. This is week 30 and I'm focused on putting my feet up and relaxing until baby comes now! I hope you're feeling better than that :) it's tough but not long to go!!!

3rdbabytime · 03/09/2025 19:01

Hi everyone, thought to check in as no one messaged after May! I had my little girl early august, she is now 4 weeks old😍 How are you all getting on?

Ginger26 · 04/09/2025 09:23

Congrats on your little girl 💗
I had my little boy middle of July. We ended up in hospital shortly after as he had jaundice then I ended up in hospital for a week with late onset preeclampsia, so it's been an absolute roller coaster of emotions.
How are you and your baby doing?

3rdbabytime · 04/09/2025 12:54

Hi @Ginger26 congratulations on your little boy!! So sorry that you've had so much happening after giving birth, how are you and the little one now? My 1st had jaundice and had to be under the UV light. Was absolutely heartbreaking when he would cry so much under the light. Are you feeling better? We are doing well thanks, tired but good lol I'm looking forward to having some downtime with baby once the kids are back to school and nursery next week!

We're doing well thank you.
I've got an appointment with the cardiologist next week as they discovered a leak in my heart whilst in hospital, possibly from the preeclampsia but I am feeling so much better than I did.
Aww, are yours not back at school yet? My little girl went back this week and I feel so much more rested now.
Is your little one letting you get much sleep?

Really glad to hear you're feeling better, that leak in your heart sounds scary! Glad they found it. Hoping all goes well at your appointment next week. Did you also have pre-eclampsia during pregnancy or was it only post birth? How is the rest of your birth recovery going?

Awww how old is your little girl? Hope she's had a lovely first week back. My eldest is turning 5 soon and is starting primary so his settling sessions are next week to ease in. And my girl is 2 so she was on 15 hours for nursery and will be moving to 30 hours next week.

As for my little baby, her sleep is still unpredictable, and her awake times are still pretty short. She does a 5 hour stretch at night, but it's usually after 2 am. I'm just grateful that she sleeps in her cot and hope the 4 month sleep regression doesn't change that! There are times though for naps where she prefers to sleep in my arms so I just enjoy the snuggles while they last and other times she does well in the cot.

How is your little baby doing? Are you getting much sleep?
